    Boarderline so thats extreme complex ptsd for abandonment wow I feel suddenly very validated I have target behaviours I must not do and that is shouting invalidating and pretending. I'm amazed that it's working. Building mastery has been a huge help too.

    Thank you so much for being realistic as it is true and solid ground for me stand on in my life now. I’ve worked deeply for many years to recover from childhood complex trauma. I’m nearly 60 and I’m more well than I have ever been and I feel like I’ve woken up inside for the first time and I don’t live in a terrified state. But it’s hard. I had such a fluffy notion of healing before. Not now. My therapist is retiring and I do not have anyone else that knows me at my depths except her. It gets very lonely at times but it’s bearable and I know I am more well than ever before and I know my biography and myself and my parts in a way I never did before so I do have the authentic company of myself and I am more present and connect with nature and the spirit that flows through all things. Thanks for listening and take care and thank you so much for these videos as they help so much

    THIS is so important piece of CPTS. Tim PLEASE do longer version of this. I feel like you are FIRST person ever who explained in such a way that is relating 100%. How can we build healthy adult if we never seen one? I feel like all the psychologist when you mention this - they immediately goes to psychiatry perspective while actually not understanding the core part as Tim is explaining. Bravo Tim!!!

    It's like Plato's Chariot. The chariot driver being the adult self and the horses are the forces trying to pull you astray and you have to keep them on track.

    Your 'friends' not wanting you to be sober is very real. If you get better they have to look at themselves. They want an user buddy not a sober friend.

      Same with food addiction, or drama addiction. Drama addiction is exhausting to have to listen to....

    Pastor Tim, first thank you so much. I would like to know if you offer counseling on the phone? I have set aside money for therapy as I don't have insurance. I would like Christian counseling and have learned so much from your content.

    Addiction could be generalized into any negative coping mechanism in this series.
    Addiction is just a negative coping mechanism that allows one to escape.

    • @baetoven
      @baetoven Месяц назад

      Defensive mechanisms are also negative coping mechanisms.
      Those that use narcisstic traits, or are addicted to narcisstic traits are the hardest people to help heal from complex trauma.

    I really appreciate u r work Tim, but these r not ppl, they r spirits...Satan’s biggest deception is that he’s not real, he wants us to think his thoughts r our thoughts. When God says we do not have a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind, he means just that...fear is a spirit, love is a spirit, heaviness is a spirit, etc. Addiction involves warfare, we are at war, not against ourselves but against the enemy.

    • @sarahalderman3126

      Yeah, god and the devil are one and the same. Any god who allows the torture some of us experienced as innocent little children, baby’s starved and beaten, or the countless abuses perpetrated onto the innocent every second of every day is not a “kind” or “loving” being. Not even remotely.
