Some people are wondering, what is the significance of dunking on this washed up liberal imam of yesteryear?
The answer is, Webb was one of the original Compassionate Imams. He was one of the forerunners who set the model of liberalization of Islam post 9/11. The project was called "American Islam." And it was a message directly encouraged by RAND and other US gov affiliates.
This dawah to liberalism has had an incalculable negative cost on the Muslims in America. Are Muslims in the West getting closer to Islam or farther away since 9/11? We all know the answer to this. Look at your own families. Look within.
The work of Webb and the rest of the Compassionate Imams is to blame in large part. For every second generation or immigrant Muslim who felt that he benefitted from the watered down trash of these figures, many more became liberal deviants or worse.
What is shocking is that a figure like Webb has no remorse, no shame, no self accountability. Rather than own up to his many, many mistakes and acknowledge the damage he has caused, he will literally double down on his promotion of, e.g., a Muslim woman posing in a prn magazine.
And to top off this brazen mockery of Islam, the fool has the audacity to call his critics liars!

I’m a Muslim and I was never tricked by these liberals but what they did that I never noticed was, me standing up for my deen to the core and every word of it. Before I would be silent and make sure I am very careful to have a tamed version of my faith on display but since the push back by DH and the likes of Mohammed hijab, I have been much more confident about my deen and never scared to talk about it. Alhumdulillah for these brothers for educating us to not be apologetic about our deen because we have the truth and we don’t need to tame ourselves for the sake of not hurting others by telling them the truth. When given the opportunity we should explain things to people in a respectful manner and hope they understand and if they don’t then do be it because if they’re going to listen they will listen no matter what because it is Allah who guides not us but still be respectful but yes alhumdulillah that these brothers are standing up to these liberals

Imam Syafi'i once said, "Later at the end of time there will be many scholars who confuse the people, so that Muslims are confused about which scholars are the heirs of the Prophet and su scholars". As Suhaib Webb sat in the masjid making a bunch of statements about Daniel, the Imam was smiling with him during that time. That alone was not a good sign because I felt like those were pretty egregious statements and claims, and certainly not lecture material to be presenting in front of the masjid. If you study further you would have encountered body of traditions that supported such positions. And circumstances would determine what approach is best. But I have never said it is an obligation. However, charting a course that brings peace, harmony and understanding in the ummah you would agree is better than that which keeps the ummah divided and at loggerheads at each other. Don’t malign Muslims in the west, I see this more common from people online but then I realize many of them do not even have the proper context and even if they did come here to see Muslims, they come from a certain negative bias to judge the Muslims on. No doubt there is weakness in Muslims, but to say it’s difficult to find courage for Muslims in the west is incorrect I think if you’re trying to say suddenly the Muslims worldwide are more courageous. No doubt in many areas there are courageous Muslims. But I don’t see you calling out the Muslims accepting the oppression of dictators! I don’t see you calling out the cowardly Muslims who emulate the West more than western Muslims who are by their nature western. I don’t see you calling out the cowards of the Muslim world who permit and encourage spilling blood of Muslims at the behest of tyrants.

Leave much doubt, for most doubt is sinful.” [Qur’an, 49.12].
Now for brother Daniel who is a Muslim skeptic and not skeptical of self, there is a saying in the book “adab as suhba”, it goes, “The believer seeks excuses for their brethren, while the hypocrite seeks out the faults of their brethren.”

We invited this Suheb guy to our masjid for an event. I was in the masjid committee at the time. He was so incredibly arrogant and brash to people for no good reason. I wanted to just throw him out for constantly misbehaving with our volunteers. Very sad state of the ummah that guys like this get to be the “imaams”.
