Marriage doesn't mean sexual intercourse with a wife who is physically not ready. Rather, marriage is a contract that when she is physically ready, then her husband can have sexual intercourse with her. Even a grown up woman can have that problem. War, famine, genocide, mass migration, and many other calamities create circumstances where fleeing parents have only two options, either they abandon their child or they hand over their child to someone trustworthy who can take care of that child under the contract of marriage. This blessed marriage was one of the best things that ever happened, as our Beloved Mother of the Believers lived a long and healthy life for decades afterwards, vigorously defending the legacy of her Noble Husband and Prophet ﷺ, and-as Allah had commanded her and all of the Mothers of the Believers in the Noble Qur’an-she transmitted to the Muslim Ummah the knowledge and wisdom that she had learned from the Noble Prophet ﷺ in his blessed household.
I personally consider this blessed marriage as one of the proofs of the Prophethood of the Apostle of Allah Muhammad ﷺ. Could any mere common man marry a girl at 6 and consummate his marriage to her at 9, and in only a decade of marriage, turn her into one of the most knowledgeable women who ever lived, one of the most vigorous guardians of his legacy who ever lived, and a pillar of knowledge for an entire world-spanning community of believers, who gratefully preserve and propagate the Prophetic knowledge that she transmitted to them, through the generations, for 14 centuries after her death, and with no end yet in sight? I say that only a true Prophet of the Creator of the Universe could do that.

Marriage doesn't mean sexual intercourse with a wife who is physically not ready. Rather, marriage is a contract that when she is physically ready, then her husband can have sexual intercourse with her. Even a grown up woman can have that problem. War, famine, genocide, mass migration, and many other calamities create circumstances where fleeing parents have only two options, either they abandon their child or they hand over their child to someone trustworthy who can take care of that child under the contract of marriage.
