Equipe Classic Racing MGB 60 Race Start

A quick video showing the start of the Equipe Classic Racing MGB 60 race at Silverstone. there were 58 MGBs in total, and all but 5 finished the race. I was pleased that the car finished the race, but had several issues with the car over the weekend.

I was certainly glad to be out again, having someone with the correct body jig for an MGB was very helpful indeed.

I'm happy to see you back in the saddle again. The speed of your rebuild was impressive. What is the reason for the lack of MGB-GT's in racing? I'm guessing either the roadster makes a better race car or the GT is just too scarce.

MGB GT owner here. I’ve heard that the roadster is more competitive for racing. The fiberglass hard top is lighter than the tin-top GT, but has very similar aerodynamics.

For our series it's down to the FiA regs, the GT's were not homologated for Appendix K so only MGB roadsters can race unless by special invitation.
