Lindsay I have really bad anxiety and your art is amazing yes, but it’s so much more than that. It’s the cadence of the way you speak, the tones of your voice, and the morsels of family life or advice that you share with each new video. So thank you for just being you 🥰🥰🥰🥰

I don’t think your videos are ever too long. As someone who is relatively new to doing art (1.5 years) and very new to watercolour, I watch your videos for 4-5 hours per day. Your teaching style and creativity are very inspiring!

I have that with portraits. I can look for hours on @ArleeBean her channel. Mine Still look like a smileyface with nose to big jaw to small and croocked ears on my end and I can asure you that was no selfie with paint :P I give up, I will just stick to botanicals where I can even work with a blob of misplaced paint and a micron lol

This was so soothing to watch, Lindsay! I've been really focused on keeping up with Inktober this month so I haven't had a lot of time to watch for relaxation. I don't remember you doing many(any?) botanicals like this before. You usually do more loose watercolour florals- but you really have a lovely eye for these. The mushroom has so much subtle texture and colour nuance; it looks real without being stiff at all. Gorgeous!

The mushroom cap detail actually looks like there's a bare tree in the middle with grasses in the foreground, it adds a whole other dimension to the painting. 😊
Don't worry about losing the brushes, it's when you spend 10 minutes looking for glasses you're *actually wearing* that you need to be concerned.... or so I'm told, because that definitely did not happen to me today. Nope. 😇 😂🤓
I watch very few videos over 35 minutes, but I really enjoy your long videos as I find them very relaxing. 😊
I like getting cosy in my room on a rainy Autumn/Winter day and painting - I totally 'zone out' and the time flies. 😊

My Internet went out for nearly 3 days, so I couldn't watch. Glad it's back up. Missed you. You're right about not stressing. I went for a walk yesterday in our park, didn't worry about not being on-line and just enjoyed the fall colors, and picked up some leaves I hope to paint. Good job with the mushroom, loved it! (and my brushes--and everything--hides from me too (yeah, I just didn't see it!))

You did a great job on both mushroom compositions in your sketchbooks - they're beautiful. I love mushrooms, and I have been dying to watercolor them, but they do not grow much near me; it's hard to find. I saw a book on mushrooms at Barnes & Noble that I want to buy just to practice painting them. Do you have any suggestions? I do not mind your longer videos. I quite like them. Actually, if you make them longer, hurray for me. Thanks, Lindsay, great painting and videos, as always. 😊

Hey Lindsay, I’m really happy you decided to paint this mushroom. I found a great photo of one years ago in a magazine and have been wanting to paint it since then. Now I have guidance. I’ll try this first then the one from the magazine Also, thank you for recommending the mimick brushes. I ordered them and they have become my favorites. Even over a way more expensive brush I had to try so again...thank you for the great advice.

It’s in China and has great deals on supplies and unlike wish the shipping is very inexpensive.

I love your work! I'm an acrylic person, just beginning to do watercolor. I have a QUESTION. I do have a lot of watercolor in tubes and I love the tube paint. However, I saw a set 34 paints in pans recently and I couldn't resist buying them. How do you get a good amount of paint from a dry pan of paint to mix with other colors from the pallet? I haven't ever used paint in pans since grade school.
If only you were my neighbor. I have a 65 lb, 6 mo puppy who would love a play date.

another great video thank you Lindsay. Was wondering if you have tried the Faber-Castell Albrecht Durer Watercolor Markers? I waited til they were in my price range, Blick's had a great sale on them. Just having a chance to try them out. They are really great, good and juicy and having 2 tips is great also. Steve Mitchell was using them, so I thought gee maybe I should try. As for the Windsor Newton, I really like these water colors a lot. BTW 10/26 it is snowing here in Big Sky Country, Montana. It is beautiful, but it is just too early.

I Love this Mushroom that you have done Lindsay, I think I'm better at painting Veggies than animals and water. That's why when I seen Dani's Beautiful Photograph of the Tree on like a little island in the middle of water, on a very cloudy over cast day. I thought AWWWW This is beautiful I wonder if Lindsay would love to do this on one of your tutorials. Was it the Mushroom that you was talking about what their made from LOL, because I love Mushrooms. Not this one because of course it's poison. I didn't know how they grew until my mother told me a story about living in Washington and going out to the cow field and getting mushrooms for dinner lol! It's so funny I was reading Jennifer's comment so sorry Jenn I forgot your last name :' ( but I guess we was both blowing off the eraser particles off your drawing LOL. I told her great minds think a like LOL. But anyways getting back to your drawing I really do love it and also, I know that I've said this over and over again, your voice is so very relaxing and I do listen and watch your tutorials all day long, because I'm remembering how to paint again and your so good at everything you pain! and I've lowered the amount of Xanax that I have to take! You are just so soothing, So Lindsay I would Love to say a "BIG" THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING THAT YOU DO! Sending Love, Prayers and Blessing your way, Your Fan and Friend, Vicki

  • @ChristinaTodd1970
    @ChristinaTodd1970 5 лет назад +1

Lindsay, do you think that the mimik squirrel brushes are snappier than the mimik kolinsky? My mimik kolinsky brushes are super duper soft but that may be because I boiled them to try to get the hooks out of the tip. It worked, btw, about 60%, making the brushes usable but now they are soooooo soft! I don’t remember how they were before because I hadn’t used them in ages because of the above mentioned hooks.

Diane Andrews SYNTHETIC brushes only. I'm not sure as I've only used one brand. To reshape my 5 Creative Mark Mimik Kolinsky brushes took around an hour!! I did one at a time, hot water for 5-10 seconds, pinch (hard) and (gently)pull the bristles while still hot, cold water, reshape, repeat.

Im lucky. I can find the winsor pans and tubes just the same. And I prefer the 101 sienna of winsor and sennelier over daniel smith for botanicals. Call me silly. And l lately rediscoverd my love for schincke's transparent sienna wich is a really rich gorgious color that just glows of your paper. One thing they have in common, all three are a 101 pigment and not a 7. The 7 much darker and fun for shadows

I thought royal and langnickel had a scrubber in their flat softgrip valuepack dont hold me to that though. I dont have a scrubber mainly I just let it dry rewet soak it up with dry brush and blot specially with thinner journal paper. Thanks for doing this, I have a really big soft spot for mushrooms in wc lol (any studentgrade flat or angular will do for scrubbing cause they tend to be a bit more rigid. Since I have several davinci junior flats and an angular i think its a waste of my money to buy me a scrubber :D Remember the name is a scrubber, that does not mean use it as an eraser, bc thinner journals often dont like this and can leave to spots not wanting to grab the paint) How much fun is this for thanksgiving tags? or tags in general? I was one of thise on instagram going please show how to make a fairly simple botanical as they are really popular and mushrooms even a kid can make; wont that be fun make a tag set with your kids for the holiday season. Mine is now 14 and still likes to do that with mum. ( Well either that or just my supplies :P )
