- My 2024 sketchbook flip through of my Strathmore 500 series mixed media sketchbook that I just finished. Realtime, no voiceover, art video of me flipping through my sketchbook; covering materials I used and thoughts/reactions. Full of a variety of art supplies, including pencils, ballpoint pen, watercolor, alcohol markers, pen, Prismacolors, and many more. I created a bunch of marker art spanning a variety of subjects. My drawing and painting subjects change a lot to include an assortment of subjects. Sketchbook spreads completed between August 2023 and March 2024.

I love the colorful fish page with the squid! It's so cute! 😍 Also absolutely love the series of two-colored bug pages, those were awesome!🤩
Thanks for the love! Bugs are fun to draw because within reason you can really do any pattern, any color and still have them look like a potential real life bug

@@RachelleByersArt They're super-inexpensive as well. I think I usually get 12 (three each of four different colours - turquoise, fuchsia, mid-green, and purple in the "Fashion" pack in a 1.4 mm size) for about $3.25 Canadian. I think there's also a regular Cristal set with blue, black and red, but I've never bought those. Have fun! 😊

So many beautiful pages! And I never thought to make up bugs. What a very creative idea to do - design and draw your own insects!
I am drawing in a Strathmore too but its the 400 series. Mainly using ink + colored pencils. But my Strathmore does not lie flat. Which certainly is annoying. But the paper size is big like yours. I have 160 pages..and already done 33.
Does yours lie flat? Or no?
How about a forest year? Or maybe a herbivore/carnivore one? I go see horses on the ranch weekly so I see lots of herbivores.
Or if you want a harder challenge than do space / aliens?
And how do people turn their artwork into stickers? I am totally clueless! 😂

Mine lays flatish….i personally don’t consider it to be a lay flat style but I am also afraid to push down too much on the binding and break it.

I like to work on multiple sketchbooks or surfaces so I can move on interrupted while the other is drying.
Same! I think that’s why I originally started having multiple…and then just kind of kept that habit over time!
