Jim Steinman is such an incredible storyteller. You can see it in his music and you can see it here in these interviews of his. I could listen to him ramble on for hours.
Man... Jim and Meat where an iconic duo i'm glad they were able to put differences aside and finally do the final act together as a duo. both were unbelievably remarkable as anyone I've ever known and both will be missed dearly. R.I.P Jim and R.I.P Meat you both were amazing performers both also amazing human beings.
I was driving in a car in california when i heard he died . Nobody in the car knew who phil was , but as a new york kid in the 70s of course i knew . They played paradise .and everyone knew the song . I felt alone but happy i knew what every line of phils "sayings were ". Great story .thanks for explaining ....J. you write the best songs ....
No only was Jim a musical genius but such a great story teller... and his impersonations are comical ... I could listen to him talk for hours.. Love the full interview.. 4 hours that go by fast.
Bat Out of Hell has been one of my favorite albums of all time since I was a teenager, and it's great to hear how these songs came together. I wish there were videos of Jim Steinman talking about Bat 2, which was as good as, or nearly as good as Bat 1.
I always did like that song, and I just now learned about the story of the voice over. Very funny. I would like to hear just the voice over without the background though.
