I never appreciated this before, but you really do a great job with the pronunciation of the words It truly shows how much respect you show the restaurant!
He has a very Eastern European accent. He can't pronounce words like 'hotel' which is pronounced hootel instead of hottel (how he does it). But with the names of the restaurants he's doing great, very true.
lol i often read this when people are talking about scandinavian criminals. They do shoot each other in open spaces and move kilos of cocaine and hash to and through denmark. Most of the drugs getting to sweden, which has a pretty wild underworld, is coming from denmark. Dont think that no danes are criminals because our society generally is good
Tina won the Michelin best service category in 2020. I’ve been there twice and can completely understand why she won. One time I was there with my family, and since we had small children we had the private dining room. Tina also had a baby at the time, but there she was serving us, and then in between dishes she was checking up on her child, which her parents otherwise was looking after. Really impressed by the fact that she could multitask like that.
He might have turned his life around, which ofc is great. But as an ex gang member he has most likely affected a lot of peoples lives in a very bad way.
@@Nse19 While this is true, and I would never tell the people affected by his actions to forgive and forget (this must be up to them), the question is from a societal point of view if you want to mark people for life for the terrible things they have done. I see this as a chance for him to give something back and do good. Children is not born evil, they just do as the adults do, not as they are told. It is better to try to give something back compared to the alternatives in my opinion.

Alexander, thank you so much for a great video about Jordnaer. I had a chance to try their unique and delicious dishes last winter in St.Moritz when Eric and Tina were working in Badrutt’s hotel for 2 months. What a great couple!!!!! It was an excellent tasting menu with extraordinary dish presentation and super service in many different languages. Just GREAT!!!!!
Loved the twist on the swedish pastry thing. I can't remember the last time I ate those or what they're called but got memories reignited of my youth and my grandma making those but dipped in sugar. Warm, crispy, soft and sweet.

If anything kitchen and gang culture are similar in some ways due to the hierarchy system and how a lieutenant in a gang can mirror a Sous chef in the culinary system. also primarily the stereotype of how outcasts end up in the kitchen
Yeeeees! Jordnær is such an amazing place. Went there while they were still two stars, not long after they had also had a fire, the place was amazing, Eric is an amazing person, as is his wife, Tina. The food was amazing too, I am looking forward to my next visit. I recognize a lot of the dishes, as well.

The restaurant is in my local area. It's been there for 7 years and has slowly been building itself to a better and better standard. They've had to replace the Michelin Star sign outside a few times :)
Have you dined at Patrick O’Connel’s restaurant in The Inn at Little Washington, Virginia? He recently received 3 Michelin stars. I’ve been dining there for years, long before any stars. Always sublime with nods to French, Southern and local cuisine. Highly recommend- the Inn is a total destination. 🤩
Finally Jordnær 😍 I have been to Jordnær 3 times and I do not think I will ever have a better meal. The 2 first times it was better though. They seemed a bit overworked the last time so I wonder if we have seen the best from them.
Am I the only one amazed by his suit selection? I'm more curious to hear about that. (I do believe he had the same suit for the Alchemist episode located in Copenhagen, so it might be a Denmark combination ) :)
For the price I was personally expecting slightly more, however I don't know much about how much it costs to find all the ingredients neccesary, I just remembered about that one restaurant that Alexander said he liked which had (I think) 17 courses but for 250$ without the wine pairing (But maybe that restaurant had worse tasting food, I honestly dont remember it perfectly)
some of us are not as lucky to have a brother working at Noma. He still had to work hard though. but some of us had to start from zero without anyone in the industry holding our hands and no initial contacts. glad that he found his purpose and he definitely earned it and made the most out of the opportunities presented to him. not everyone would have made it.
