Josh's character makes SO much more sense if you read the book. the reason why he kept delaying sex with her was because everyone in his life wanted him because of how he looked not who he was. He wanted her to appreciate him.
Even in the film he said it to her i liked how they added it to the script
@@namelessforthemoment8198 yeah. When he walked out of his bedroom he was so upset. I see him very much as a sympathetic character. And Lucy’s character is stronger in the movie but I don’t see where she came forward to him at all besides sexually. I wanted more of that the most.

I have a question. Why do people still have sex? Sex is very gross, nasty, messy, and disgusting! I don't see how sex is a good thing. Why don't humans just remove sex from this world? Women can still get pregnant without sex (there's a lot of ways women can get pregnant without sex including artificial insemination). Sex does cause a lot of problems, so the world might be a much better place without it.

In real life they are good friends, that is why they managed to be creative and due to science, the sexy chemisty was delivered on point. Everything about The Hating Game is almost perfect, the team able to deliver a film that ppl will watch mutiple time till today.
I've watched it 6 times in a row. I love the chemistry. The scene in the closet when he won't touch her. Love it!
@@amandashelton4719 Plus the elevator and how he just looked at her as he held her up before kissing her the second time. Yes the closet and how he said put my hands on you yourself but then enjoyed grabbing her.💕 This definitely has become one of my favorite movies I've watched over and over.

Oh I'm so gutted I missed this when it was on the big screen... I'd love to see it that way because on a laptop is just rubbish.
I loved the movie but it felt too rushed for me. It would have been great if they let the scenes breathe a bit

Yes!!! I realize a movie can’t capture everything from the book…..but it did feel rushed, not as fleshed out as I would have liked. And though I felt a a little bad for Danny in the book, I really felt bad for him in the movie.

If anybody who has read the novel please explain why lucy is the way she is? What's with so much trust issues? Their chemistry lacks depth. We know about Josh but what about Lucy?
Even i felt it..after reading book i understood her better...first of all in the movie she is more confident but in book she actually is more sweeter and has a lot of self doubt...And lucy from the start will be attracted to him may be cause of his appearance..she used to discribe how good he looks even when she is irritated with him...sure she hated him but she also admires him and wants to have sex with him too..but slowly she will realises she has somthg more for him than just attraction but dont want to admit it... Reason why this job is important is ,its her childhood dream to work in a publishing house and she is living her dream now and she doesn't want to lose it...She will have a lot of struggle inside her between josh and her job... Also her mom was a jounalist but would have left her dream of being a investigative journalist since she fell in love with Lucy's father and left the same for him went to strawberry farm with him...though they are happy lucy somtimes feels its a disaster her mother gave up on her dream for a Man...and she is somwhat put the same situation when she kind of develops feeling for josh..she dont want to do the same thing her mom did as she thinks its a mistake...also her dad would have struggled to send lucy to college so she want to be successful and prove herself..all these things will make her struggle inside and doesn't let her get close to Josh...

I don't think the romantic type of love is special. And I am started to think that the romantic type of love isn't real. I mean about more than half of romantic couples either break up with each other or divorce each other, while most platonic best friends remain friends until death.

Having someone who's like a sibling to you is a lot better than having a romantic partner or spouse. Also, you are more likely to be much more closer to someone who's like a brother or sister to you than you would be with a romantic partner or spouse.
People tend to fight with their partner or spouse a lot more than they do with a platonic best friend, and you never fight with your best friend the way you fight with your partner or spouse. Partners and spouses are just temporary. If you break up or divorce them, it's hard to go back to them. With your platonic best friend, you're going to make things work, because they are your best friend, they are your go to partner. It's always easier to make amends with them than it is with a romantic partner or spouse.
