Josh's character makes SO much more sense if you read the book. the reason why he kept delaying sex with her was because everyone in his life wanted him because of how he looked not who he was. He wanted her to appreciate him.

I have a question. Why do people still have sex? Sex is very gross, nasty, messy, and disgusting! I don't see how sex is a good thing. Why don't humans just remove sex from this world? Women can still get pregnant without sex (there's a lot of ways women can get pregnant without sex including artificial insemination). Sex does cause a lot of problems, so the world might be a much better place without it.

The edit is beautiful! But the fact that Josh smiles here more than he has in the entire book is just- I dunno, I liked it better when only Lucy got his 'rare' smiles
In real life they are good friends, that is why they managed to be creative and due to science, the sexy chemisty was delivered on point. Everything about The Hating Game is almost perfect, the team able to deliver a film that ppl will watch mutiple time till today.

Yes!!! I realize a movie can’t capture everything from the book…..but it did feel rushed, not as fleshed out as I would have liked. And though I felt a a little bad for Danny in the book, I really felt bad for him in the movie.

Even i felt it..after reading book i understood her better...first of all in the movie she is more confident but in book she actually is more sweeter and has a lot of self doubt...And lucy from the start will be attracted to him may be cause of his appearance..she used to discribe how good he looks even when she is irritated with him...sure she hated him but she also admires him and wants to have sex with him too..but slowly she will realises she has somthg more for him than just attraction but dont want to admit it... Reason why this job is important is ,its her childhood dream to work in a publishing house and she is living her dream now and she doesn't want to lose it...She will have a lot of struggle inside her between josh and her job... Also her mom was a jounalist but would have left her dream of being a investigative journalist since she fell in love with Lucy's father and left the same for him went to strawberry farm with him...though they are happy lucy somtimes feels its a disaster her mother gave up on her dream for a Man...and she is somwhat put the same situation when she kind of develops feeling for josh..she dont want to do the same thing her mom did as she thinks its a mistake...also her dad would have struggled to send lucy to college so she want to be successful and prove herself..all these things will make her struggle inside and doesn't let her get close to Josh...

I mean about more than half of romantic couples either break up with each other or divorce each other, while most platonic best friends remain friends until death. I think that having a platonic best friend is a lot better than having a romantic partner or spouse is. Having someone who's like a sibling to you is a lot better than having a romantic partner or spouse. Also, you are more likely to be much more closer to someone who's like a brother or sister to you than you would be with a romantic partner or spouse. People tend to fight with their partner or spouse a lot more than they do with a platonic best friend, and you never fight with your best friend the way you fight with your partner or spouse. Partners and spouses are just temporary. If you break up or divorce them, it's hard to go back to them. With your platonic best friend, you're going to make things work, because they are your best friend, they are your go to partner. It's always easier to make amends with them than it is with a romantic partner or spouse.
