- Thanks for watching! I’m an illustrator from The Netherlands.
This is the first sketchbook I’ve filled since graduating art school. I collaged quite a bit with old artworks from that time, and as the sketchbook got bulkier it got harder to draw on the go. So lots of (life) drawing glued in as well, from smaller scraps of paper I carried around. This sketchbook also gives a peek into the first designs for my book blog, much more to come :-)

Great to see a sketchbook full of unique,self generated art, no generic Pinterest stuff , 👏👏👏👌🙌🙌 it makes me feel like it’s ok to be random, unplanned and work stuff out, try everything, it’s so much more interesting for the viewer. Absolutely loved this sketchbook!!! My kinda sketchbook. Unique and varied and full of , surprises.❤❤❤

Just want to say thank you. It was such a joy to watch. The flipping was nice and quick no talking explaining each doodle or art for 30 minutes. Nice music in the back. Honestly one of THE best sketchbooks videos Iv ever seen. I really enjoyed watching this and the art itself was amazing. Thank you for sharing your energy your creations your art. ❤

This looks like what used to be called #ArtistsJournal ❤it, whatever you want to call it. 🔥 🎨 😊 We used to do Round Robins where we passed/mailed around our 'sketchbooks' to other art journalists who 'killed' a spread in it for us.

so colorful and creative. every space is used in every pages. i love all the pages and the book covers. it's just so different from the covers i've seen.
i also loved that you didn't have to talk while flipping bc i easily get distracted and lose patience watching other sketchbook tours and they take a lot of time just explaining 1 page 😭

I’m 18 soon and have been thinking about returning to drawing as a hobby, and this really just solidified it in my brain. Gorgeous artworks, absolutely love your style, composition and how you use colour. In combination with the music, it’s SUCH A VIBE! I think someone else’s comment about being filled with creativity after watching summarises the feeling pretty well.

I love this, you are so talented and creative! As a fellow artist I’m working on being okay with ‘messing up’ my sketchbook (whatever that means). I used to make pretty impressive journals as a teenager but haven’t done it for ages! This has inspired me massively, thank you! PS ur book covers are amazing

Love this so cool to see someone’s profession going into their sketchbook because a lot of people when they work with art they tend to not keep a sketchbook or not do a lot with it. This is amazing and so cool.

@@sosseserpenti same under the edge of 18 and I don’t have a job so I can’t really do a lot of big pieces. Our competitions are so far and limited so my sketchbook is usually the place I go to make all of my art
Yes it is a great compact medium to jot down ideas. I relate a lot, when I was a teenager I also didn't have space to make bigger works. But later you can always come back to old sketchbooks for inspiration (i do!)

this is gorgeous! how often did you sketch in it till it was completed?
Thank you! I'd say it was in waves, sometimes multiple pages a day, sometimes I wouldn't for a couple of days. Often I drew on the little scraps and made a composition with it later
I was assigned to read The Stranger in school by my creepy pedo English teacher, and for that reason, I hated the entire book, but your cover makes me want to reread it! It’s so pretty! (And having read the book myself, the mirror is really clever)
Oh yea school can totally ruin a reading experience, also weird to recommend a book that is not originally written in English. A re-read is totally worth it, I also read it two times. I’m glad you like my cover :-)
do the markers bleed through? i'm just surprised since the paper seems quite frail in the video
Yes i was surprised as well! It is as thin as printerpaper, but not very porous. So only alcohol markers bleed through

Why do you draw in a book?
Do you mean my sketchbook or the loose books i illustrate? As an artist a sketchbook gives me a comfortable space to practice and try out ideas. With the literature books, i read them and then get a new idea for the cover. I love to capture a story into an image.
