    This is a demo of soundpack 2 "MOONLIGHT" with 50 (!!!) patches I have designed for the new Korg Opsix.
    No external effects were used in the demos. All effects are internal effects of the Opsix. No other hardware was used. No compressor, no limiter, no equalizer, nothing, but the pure Opsix.
    All in all there are 50 (!!!) new patches in the package with deep FM pads, organic FM strings, drones and landscapes, keys and base-sounds.
    I designed all the sounds myself.
    If you´re interested in this soundpack 2 "MOONLIGHT" with 50 (!!!) FM patches for the Korg Opsix, please send me an email (xu.sounddesign@gmx.net). Please check your spam-folder.

    They made a synth in my favorite color: metallic grayish-greenish-bluish-green. Or as interior decorators call it, "megrabuleen."

    I’ve watched countless vids.. out all of the korg keys with this design, this is one seems to take the cake

      They are practically toys. Now that Korg have discontinued practically everything besides them at the newer end people are moving on. At least Roland and Yamaha are still in the game. New Fantom-0 should sell really well.

    One of the better demos of the OP6. Glad I got one coming in the mail today.

    I absolutely love this synth ,i haven't got one yet ,but when i get the money i will ,this will be my first synth ,i generally use software

      @only_folls 6 месяцев назад +1

      i think a software is available but if you do get the hardware there is a new big version and an mk 2 with more voices so the mk1 might be more affordable than when you last checked possibly around 400 to 450 the cost of a cool green instrument whether its an Ibanez with 2 humbuckers or a green synth like this real ones know use them brothers use them and become strong

    If I don’t play my OpSix at least once a week, sadness creeps in. This darn machine is addictive to say the least. Great sound work, keep it coming.

    Great sounds. I've been looking at this synth with mixed emotions. Those are positive emotions now after seeing your video. If I pick up an opsix, your soundset will be first addition on my list.

    I think this synth sounds ace... I've been watching and researching synths for the last two years waiting to take the hardware plunge... I didn't expect to be getting a Korg as I've been dribbling over an Arturia Polybrute and at one point a Novation Summit... they're both ace, but I ended up getting a Korg Minilogue XD (so glad I did), ace value for the money and although its limited in modulation abilities... its a solid roaring sound and delicate when needed... really love it....
    I then bought a Korg Wavestate, which is entirely different, but in also a great way... I'll soon be making and importing my own samples into it. The depth to the sound manipulations on the Wavestate is cracking!
    As a composer who plays guitar and Piano; since discovering some synths that I actually like the sound of, I'm now fully hooked on synthesis... and to round this comment to an end... I think I'll be saving up for the Opsix too! Georgous sounding ambient / film score potential! :-)

      Hi Rick, I had to offer my opinion here since you and I seem to be on the same musical journey. I took the plunge and purchased a Polybrute. I returned it after a week due to multiple issues. It was a crushing disappointment. I hope to try again in a couple of years. Hopefully Arturia will figure out how to make it more stable. I chose to return the Polybrute instead of exchanging it because once I started reading forums I learned that there are a lot of heartbroken Polybrute owners out there who can't get the synth repaired. After much deliberation and listening to just about every synth demo on the tube, I decided to go for the Novation Peak for true analogue emulation and the Op6 for it's wide range of sonic exploration. I couldn't be happier. The Peak sounds tough right out of the box, but is capable of soft squishy pretty tones as well. I did an LFO test drive the other day to see how much sound I could get from one note run through LFO's and multiple modulation routes and lets just say that I was astounded. The synth operates and sounds like a true analogue synth. The Op6 is the perfect accompaniment to the Peak. XU's soundbanks help tame the learning curve of the Op6 and have helped me get going just making music. Which was the point all along. Now I have the best of both worlds with a true analogue (sounding) synth and digital synth with endless possibilities. All for the price of a Polybrute.

      @@austinhill1510 thanks a lot for your reply and your journey up to this point 😃 that’s very interesting.... I’ve since bought an Opsix too. I love it and I understand exactly what you mean about it’s sound design potential... I love it... yeah I’m probably not going to get a Polybrute now... partially because of what happened to you and yours... but also as I’ve got a hunch I’ll not like it’s bare oscillator tone... I could be wrong but I played a minibrute 2 and it’s oscillators did nothing for me sonically... strange how a synth’s bare osc tones can show you it’s bare bone tone... I can’t put my finger on it, it just sounded a little flat and lifeless... I think it’s analogue aswell so I was surprised... anyway... I’m happy with the XD, Wavestate and Opsix... yeah later I’ll end up getting something else aswell but I’m focusing on these first to get to know them well...

    cool moody stuff! Well done. Sometimes it seems the Opsix is a bit noisy and clicky. The noise is a bit too much and gives the synth a lofi character. But really great epianos. The effects in the machine are really outstanding.

      I love the noisy and clicky lofi character of the beast. It´s like my old 12bit DX7 from the 80s, but with new hifi effects.

      This is exactly why I went for this; it's good for actual playing. When going through patches, I always find myself having endless fun with e-pianos, like the one at 2:50 ... so smooth!

    I think you'd be better served by using an external reverb because using the limited options of those onboard make them sound too similar.

    • @xu.sounddesign
      @xu.sounddesign  8 месяцев назад +5

      There are some external FX in my setup: Strymon Big Sky, Strymon Volante, Eventide H9 etc., but not for this demo. Here it´s the pure Opsix :-)

    • @harshgarrett
      @harshgarrett 8 месяцев назад +1

      right on. cloud on the big sky is sick. would love to try a volante one day. But yeah the opsix sounds great but needs more than the built in reverbs if you're using more than 3-4 patches I'd say because it makes it sound too similar. @@xu.sounddesign

    mi piacerebbe sapere che multieffetto ci hai messo sotto per farlo SEMBRARE così bello e magico. Sentiamolo senza effetto, nudo e crudo e poi vediamo se è così magico.
