You have given the best explanation among all the RUclipsrs. As you said, Zamperla's reputation is riding on this and I'm sure they have taken an all hands approach to remedy the problem. B&M took no time to fix Fury because, like Top Thrill, the whole world is watching.

Thank you! I tried to be as reasonable as possible, they will get it up and going in no time! Can't wait to ride it again! Thanks for watching ❤

With F-325 it a case of improper maintenance. A visiting park guest shouldn't have to notice a major defect in the support column. And when the park guest showed the video of an employee who works at Carowinds, just kinda went, Oh, Yeah, Yeah!!

A piece of the wheel, broke off Friday night around 7pm. I can confirm this because it hit the safety net right next to us. A rep from Zamperla came and collected said chunk. Then they took the silver train out of service. They dispatched trains for another 45 minutes or so. It has not reopened since.

We got lucky with the black train as we heard the silver train was rough! Hopefully they get it sorted.

@@CaseFamilyVlogs I am honestly considering trying to get a refund on my season fast passes. It’s a shame too because the 10 rides I got on it were by far the best rides I have ever had on a coaster.

@@EddieJiuJitsu it's probably very possible to get a refund with it going to be down for a while. I'd be mad too!

I got on one of the last rides on Friday night 5/10. I was on the black train and I remember seeing the silver train off the track. I'm surprised they opened the ride back up if something did break off the silver train. I did hear that they stopped letting people in the queue about 25 minutes before the park closed at 8pm, but I got in line maybe 15 minutes before that happened. I think my ride was around 8:50pm that night. It's an amazing coaster. Hopefully they can fix the issue and get it back up and running same as before. I'm surprised they didn't notice any issues when doing the testing of the ride in the offseason.

Sure you can bash them. Who cares if it's never been done before. That means you test the hell out of it. Did they never run a stress test on it? All day long at max weight.

Nice new microphone! Glad you express multiple times that this is just speculation and your best guess. I've been hearing lots of "rumors" that I don't believe are true. I agree that this ride is very forceful and is something very different for Zamperla, but I have faith that they will be able to resolve the situation quickly.

Definitely agree! I'm willing to bet within 2-4 weeks it will be up! It's one of the craziest most forceful rides we have ever been on! Our new number 1!

Great explanation from the engineering side of things. I rode it as well and all your thoughts make perfect sense. I am hoping TT2 is up this year, but safety first for sure!!

Zamperla mostly seems to have done a great job aside from this. I hope its not from the speed over the top.. ppl said thats what made it extra good.
I suspect the shaking, and ppl always said "but it doesn't feel shaky/ doesn't hurt" ... but the rider experience isn't the only thing to qualm with a shaking issue.
    Thank you for your insight!

I agree with you that its probably the wheels. I rode it about 50 mins after it opened on opening day and there was a noticeable shake coming off the rear spike into the third launch and holy airtime over the top hat. The OG was very slow over the top but not TT2. Its an incredible ride and its disappointing it closed especially for those those that traveled a long way to ride it but im glad it was caught and shut down to keep everyone safe. I am hoping they can get it open before Coastermania but im not holding my breath.

FYI, Dragster never launched at 120, it was always always higher. Usually something like 123

The large road Wheels were made to reduce heat and friction. That's what Zamperla mentioned at IAPPA. Although it's an older Arrow Dynamics Rollercoasters, Viper at Six Flags Magic Mountain, the Trains have large road wheels vs Corkscrew at Cedar Point. Cedar Fair should have gone with Intamin again. Instead Cedar Fair went Cheap with a Company that never built a Hyper Rollercoaster. Zamperla's tallest Rollercoaster is something like 150ft tall with a Max Train speed of 57mph. I had a feeling from Day 1 when it was announced that it was going to be Zamperla to Reimagine Top Thrill Dragster, this was going to happen. A Strata Rollercoaster is WAY out of their league. Now Cedar Point has a 420ft version of Wildmouse sitting in limbo. Hell, The Original Top Thrill Dragster didn't break down this quickly after the Coaster debuted in 2003, and I was able to get 11 rides on it for Media Day without any problems.

All the rotation of the trains on the way up and down the spike is in the same direction, and Intamin presumably designed these rotations around the heart line of the train, which is no longer in the same position, but further from the track, as you say. Vloggers who rode the ride on Friday before it closed commented on how much more “whip” you experience going down through the spiral, probably because you’re no longer rotating around your centre of mass, but a point lower down, which means more force is needed from the left-hand running wheels to start and maintain the rotation. I remember riding the original TTD and loved the way you just felt weightless as you turned on the downward spiral. Now, you’re getting negative g’s, it seems.
We have a city in England, called Milton Keynes, where all the junctions are roundabouts. A car mechanic I knew who worked in the area said the difference in wear between the wheel assembly and tyres on the outside of the turning circle was always significantly higher than for those on the inside of the turn.
