I am so glad you finally got to James Ingrahm. I have always loved the rasp in his voice. You should check out "Baby Come to Me" and a song from the animated movie An American Tail, called "Somewhere Out There" with Linda Ronstadt. Both are excellent.

A lot of the likeability of a song comes from how old you were, and where you were in life when a song was released. I was 16 when this song came out in 1981, and this is the last cheesy thing you'd want to rock out with your friends to when you were 16. A lot of songs like this were marketed for adult radio stations, so lots of us kids weren't having this. :)

This version is quite close to the original hit version, but for some reason they decided to alter the violin background in this re-recorded version.
The violins in the original hit version had a steady and inexorable climb to an ultra high note that sent shivers down the spine.
I hope you get a chance someday to hear the original recording. As beautiful as this is, that tops this one for sure.

This song alone would be impossible to find today in the charts. Or a song as good as this one. The music from those years was so much better... Can´t belive now we just have computers singing in most of the songs. People who is not even a singer with their voices totally altered to sound "perfect" but they end up sounding robotic and souless. It´s really sad but I like to see that some people discovers the real music and your channel is helping for that purpose.

My cousin, you hit the jackpot this Monday morning. I always think of James Ingram as the male equivalent to Céline Dion - a superb voice, perfect pitch, and expressed in intense layers of emotion. Thank you.,

If you think Celine is good, please check out Lara Fabian. Start with Adagio from her 1999 concert, From Lara with Love. She's the greatest singer you probably haven't heard of. And she's drop dead gorgeous.
