I just recently came across your channel, and it is one of the best channels for learning all sorts of lovely things! I really like these different thorn stiches. Thank you so much for sharing!
Gorgeous piece..oh my I love it. Beautiful work. I am so encouraged and excited. I love learning all these stitches. So much better seeing them than on the pages of a book..thank you. The book is a great help..but seeing them actually done is a big help.
Carolyn Rockafellow Thank you so much. I agree, I find it’s much easier to watch someone do it while I’m stitching along side. I think it’s just the way I learn. Definitely is hard from diagrams, no matter how good they are. ❤️
Lots of different fabrics, background is a felted wool that I hand dyed using tea, bird is felted wool, cotton and velvet, the background has all kinds of things, silk velvet, dupioni silk, cotton, linen...
Not always. Needles are a little different. With a Chenille Needle, for example, the #24 Chenille is thinner than the #18 Chenille, which is thicker and used for heavier weight threads. But the Milliners Needles go by a slightly different numbering system. So a #3 Milliners is used for #8 weight threads, and a #1 Milliners is used for #5 weight threads. Then, bizarrely and for some unknown reason a #15 Milliners is the thickest of all and is used for gimp and #3 weight threads. Go figure. And then there are #9, 10 & 11 Milliners and those are much thinner than the # 3. The milliners can also differ depending on the manufacturer. I like Tulip needles, personally for Milliners.
I love and greatly appreciate your demonstrations, but if you step a bit away from the camera, it would be better; not for the close-ups, of course, but as you make the general stitch;.
I love the fact that you are left-handed, so am I.

That help! So the is the same also for the needle?
