I was hanging out with a new-ish lady friend last night and this song came up on my playlist. I love this song, and I can't overstate how great this song is for the right kind of vibe in a sexy situation. Today she asked me what the song is and while looking to get the spelling right, I found this video. I have chills watching and listening and imaging I was at this live show. It's magical.
I love the fact that Justin of Bon Iver got back together with his old band who is now Megafaun, to do this collaboration with a bunch of other talented Midwesterners!
I wonder if you believe in the Gayngs covering these classic '80s MOR tunes: "You're the Inspiration" by Chicago (1984) "Say You, Say Me" by Lionel Richie (1985) "There'll Be Sad Songs (To Make You Cry)" by Billy Ocean (1986)
@LuqaS15 Ever think they did it to create a unique sound to make the song sound a bit more electronic? I think so. I'm a hardcore auto-tun hater, but in this case I am for it. It sounds awesome with the type of music they're playing.
@smibbo Listen. The sound they are putting out is huge. I guess they could have digitally reproduced a lot, but what fun is that? I'd much rather have a big-band live experience. Many vocal tracks, many keyboards, a sick bass line, drums, guitar, etc....all that delay and reverb turned up....Man, I wouldn't have had that any other way.
The SHEER NUMBER of hipsters in the crowd..... this recording must have taken place in the stone age, before music was born, for all of them to have assembled en masse like this, Way before anything musical was cool.
was it really necessary to put these guys opposite the Chemical Brothers and Scala and Kolacny Bros (the girls choir singing Creep from the Social Network trailer). Why, Coachella, why?
We need a new GAYNGS album.
This song never fails to amaze me
I've got some intel that it's in the works.
@@csext Really??

@pestopalooza I know it's the singer from Solid Gold, but I don't know his name and I'm too lazy to look it up. Pretty dope cat, tho.
complimenti
early 20 teens fashion wasn't quite right
How tf do you pronounce this bands name?!?
Jeff Bridges on drums. The dude abides.
Vernon still sounds badass through a vocalizer.
Never would we have thought where his vocals would be at now..
who is the guy playing keys and singing at 2:55?
Back when Justin Vernon was a rare commodity
The SHEER NUMBER of hipsters in the crowd..... this recording must have taken place in the stone age, before music was born, for all of them to have assembled en masse like this, Way before anything musical was cool.
Ryan Olson is theeeeee man
If Prince had a baby with George Michael and the baby was raised by Sebastien Tellier and Daft Punk
@professorbananas
Thats like the symbol for the band i think, a fun little inside thing.
Beards give you musical powers.
@6fifty8 Yes indeed.
6 people live on the gaudy side of town
does anyone know who the main keyboardist/vocalist in the shades is?
Zach Coulter from Solid Gold.
Brad's Bass Lines are ridiculous.
