I used to love going in to Tayto in coolock with a delivery of cardboard boxws from Smurfits in Cork. The lads would always give you a few boxes of crisps. Was often glad of em when I didn't have the price of a bit of grub on the way home.
I may be biased but these are the best crisps in the world imo
They are
Agreed!
We named our cat Tayto
The workforce of Coolock and Edenmore. Tayto sustained a lot of young children in them poor times.
What a coincidence I’ve just eaten a packet of these, the best ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I remember buying a bag of tayto for 2 and a half pence
For 12 pence I could get a brunch ice cream and a bottle of club orange
And 10 Richmond cigarettes were 15 and half pence
Tayto crisps had gone up in price at that stage , 2 1/2p was equal to 6d , they were 4d (2c)/ bag around the time this film was made. You could buy 60 bags for £1-00 = €1.27 . A bar of Cadburys chocolate was 6d immediately prior to decimilisation in February 1971. We have been robbed by inflation.
20p when I was a kid. Now they're €1.40 in some places.
@@Daniel-OConnell yeah I remember that time, if you had a shilling you could keep your on sweets for a week. Trigger bar 2d Macaroon bar 2d Big5 bar 6d I used to call the Big5 the poor man's Mars bar cause a Mars was 9d, not good value for money in my humble opinion. You could get a big bottle of Taylor Keith lemonade for 9d, bring the bottle back to the shop ,get 2d back for it and have yourself t trigger bar.
Brilliant keep up the great work 🏆
now we just nead some kerry gold and a few slices of batch bread
And a slice of gurr cake.
Oh God ! Heaven.
I could do with a packet of these right now
Same
Perfect with a dairymilk bar 🤤🤤
nothing better.
Best crisps in the world
Its hard to beat the Tayto taste.
Yes when I lived in S Africa my mum and dad would come over on holiday and i made them fill their cases with Tayto cheese and onion
I could savage a bag of Free State Tayto now!
Me also.
Just watching this makes me famished
Freestatos.
@@TheLastAngryMan01 excellent! 😂
Background music provided by Herb Alpert and the Tjuana Brass.
Having an aul smoke now so ill have about three bags of these later
I worked there
Tayto or King?
If I'm in the mood for a cheeseier crisp, I'll go with King. But I do like a Tayto crisp.
Pre Metric measurement days. "the oil is almost three times hotter than boiling water!" 😂
I remember as a kid sometime early 70s. Big inflationary discussion as they went from 2.5p to 3.0p. There was a red star on front of pack with the price.
Tayto crisps made by God .
I'm out of me mind with the hunger
i believe the owner was a pleasure to work for
I wonder did i eat any of those ones ,id say i did
If you ever ate a bag of Tayto you'd remember it the rest of your life!
