Idk why I’m even here. I don’t get how Tetris player moves so fast, or how the Puyo players sets up those crazy combos. It’s mesmerizing as hell though.
As a Tetris player, our game is all down to muscle memory 90% of the time. Mad props for people who get god at puyo, there's a ton more strategy than with tetris
@@Charlie-jq8zj even though I can't play puyo for shit, I'd assume it's similar to tetris, like when you see a certain formation of minos you know that you can set up a dt or whatever, I'd say seeing combos is like that.

I consider myself a pretty decent Tetris player, but I cannot move that fast! On the other hand, I am absolute trash at Puyo Puyo.
The fact that Wumbo got Brutalitied at the end of the first mach is proof enough of the Puyo player's skill.

If you land one just ONE decent chain combo on puyo it’s over for tetris. For casual Tetris players it’s a nightmare when that happens that’s why ya boy Wumbo had to do back to back double T spins just to stay in the game.
@@instantramen6393 first of all that aint right, in lower ranks puyo has an advantage due to being able to kill quick, but in higher ranks puyo is near impossible to play. the constant unending onslaught of damage from tetris is just plain crippling. this slight disadvantage joke comes the IGN review of PPT, where she states that "the tetris player is at a slight disadvantage."

The first round was like that soccer match where a team has 80% of the ball possession but loses anyway.
Meanwhile, I'm wondering how the hell that Puyo player was able to keep up. I'd be going out of my my mind trying to set up a combo as the Tetris player already gets a back-to-back Tetris.

It’s not fair, Tetris players can do flashy moves but puyo puyo can’t because puyo puyo is about strategy and you can’t concentrate if there is a persons sending trash each second you can’t do your job well that’s a big upsy from saga
@@pauladeen454 tetrises and t-spins aren’t flashy moves lmao, it’s the same as getting a combo in puyo, and with puyo it’s a lot more important to be able to deal with garbage, making them equal

Running out of moves at the top is usually do to lack of control before you got there. Otherwise you die because of a fuck up or because your opponent puts his foot in your ass

I see... by setting up a tower on the right side, it minimizes the junk block’s effect on amy combos... and keeps her living longer so long as she keeps the third column clear consistently
On Puyo Vs. Tetris at high rank, puyo should have hard drop
Why? Puyo has the advantage over tetris for the lower ranks,. So to me it seems logical that tetris should beat puyo at higher ranks with the t-spins and all the fancy moves!

Also, I say because puyo have a speed limit and tetris doesnt, so you ca technically do almost two tetris per second if you are True GrandMaster

Still doesn't mean puyo should have high drop at high rank puyo puyo advantage is it is earier on the low ranks vs tetris players. That is the advantage it has, on higher ranks tough it shouldn't get the fast drop simply because before that you reach that puyo puyo always has the advantage. If puyo puyo had hard drop on the high ranks it would once more totally destroy tetris players cause 10-11 chains would be so easy and fast to get, so no it shouldn't. I like it how it is now, cause both have advantages and disadventages. I say this as a tetris player on low ranking who still get's destroyed by puyo puyo's a lot.

To slow Tetris down, there is a special rule in Tetris vs Puyo. Whenever you are doing a combo, or otherwise a large clear (ie: Tetris or T-Spins), the meter builds up on the left-side of Tetris screens. Only AFTER you drop a non-line clear will the damage be sent over.
In normal Tetris, there is no meter and the damage is sent instantly. But even with the meter slowing down Tetris slightly, its clear that Puyo still has issues keeping up with Tetris's speed.

Pro puyo can easily kill anything, But If the garbage goes exactly in the right place to stop a puyo combo, it can at least last more than 1 minute .-.
+JediJess1 Tetris is scarier since its a lot more consistent. Puyo can have a bit of good or bad RNG when it comes to garbage placements and getting the trigger on time since everything falls so slow.
You can get lucky against a good Puyo player but, against a good tetris player, they would have to seriously mess up for you to win unless you were about as good as them.

How do you switch the character's language from English to Japanese?
Play the PC version. It the only one with the option to freely swap dubs. I think you can get a similar effect on Switch by switching the console's reigon.

If he sent his garbage before the other combo finishes, Puyo could overrule it. By waiting until the Puyo combo was finished before ending his own combo, he avoids having the potential garbage rejected, leaving Puyo at square negative one.
