What, Bri's corrupt mind?
Ah yes putting up an American flag in ‘The United States of America’ instead of leaving up the Palestinian flag is an ideological statement….
1968 they flew viet cong flags.
I actually found it poetic that police raise the US flag. Police, founded on and dedicated to slavery and classism, raising the flag of the US, a nation founded on genocide, slavery, and classism, that is just as dedicated to citizen oppression today as it has always been.
It's not about the flag, it's about the police putting up the flag, why? Who was behind the act, stop scratching the surface and you might get real answers.
What about a congressman wearing the military uniform of another country in the congress? Is that OK?

She practically hijacks the entire segment. Robbie needs to be more forceful
She is simply horrible!
Also, is there anything respectful (or watchable) in repeatedly laughing at and lecturing a co-host?
I think Briahna is still butthurt from Taibbi pointing out her slandering him, and rather than having the professionalism to apologize, she's instead now lashing out left and right.
I'm doubting that she'll be around much longer.
Both are insufferable. But Robbie doesn't even provide a take 90% of the time. He just spins himself in a indifferent statement. U gotta bring something to the table.
@Michael-qx6fr yes you can find clips of Robbie getting emotional after being badgered and insulted over and over and over and pushed over the edge. Robbie is FAR more respectful to both her and guest. The man is at the end of his ropes with this lady, I applaud him for not snapping more often. I love how Bri focuses on the teacher who was, I'll admit man handled roughly, but just literally brushes off Robby, bringing up them literally kidnapping a janitor..... like I'm sorry, what? Show me solid evidence and I'll believe it. That has become very common --- as has provocation from the FBI and others. But then, Afeni Shakur once proved that, decades ago, representing herself in court.
Considering how flush AIPAC is, it would not surprise me that "pro Isreal" factions are fully funded and paid for.
While I do think most of the students have good and moral intentions supporting Palestine. I can definitely see behind-the-scenes actors trying to use this as an opportunity to create chaos. It's hard not to think everything that is happening in a year of election has ulterior motives.

Dude. The protestors were straight up committing crimes in the open. When you do that your right to peaceful protest is terminated. Also they were physically preventing students who didn't agree with their views to go into a common area that was designated for all students. That abrogation of other's rights to freedom of movement. Whatever you think of the moral superiority of your cause doesn't give you any rights over those who choose to not participate in your protest, those who have a right of free passage, or to commit forced entry and vandalism.
Forced entry & vandalism requires this response?
@@donpietruk1517 Let's suppose you are right. Exactly what level of force does that authorize? If the students broke laws, does that mean that anything can be done to them now? That's like saying October 7th justifies genocide.
@@l.w.paradis2108 What exactly was "done" to them? They were arrested fairly without incident for the most part and charged. I didn't see cops going in with truncheons failing and busting heads open like in the 1960s and 1970s. They committed crimes, were dispersed when they didn't follow lawful directives and some were arrested. I'd say that's a proportionate outcome.
@@liiv3354 Yes. You are illegally occupying a building that you've barricaded. You were ordered out and refused to comply and didn't let the authorities in. Can someone explain how a university has money with weapons manufacturers
Because the defense dept dumps billions of dollars into university research. Then weapons manufacturers pay the university for rights to the patents, etc that come out of the research since the university own the rights.
Universities invest in stocks. If I remember correctly, either Harvard or Yale has the biggest investment in stocks, amounting to billions of dollars.
These funds are managed by professionals, whom one would expect to look for the highest returns, and it just so happens that the weapons industry is highly profitable.
So, according to Bri, if the college doesn’t listen to the people occupying and taking hostages that it somehow justifies any of this? She’s insane and a bad faith actor.

When you're on private property, and the owners tell you to leave, LEAVE.
As Brie said, civil disobedience entails a willingness to face arrest. It doesn't mean that you're an outlaw, and police can risk maiming you for life if they feel like it.
Are these distinctions too fine now?
@@l.w.paradis2108The police should be held to a high standard of minimum use of force. No one (that I'm aware of) has negated that distinction. Yet "minimum use of force" will be based on resistance to legitimate orders. The higher the resistance, the higher the minimum force required. Appeasement is not required by law. Waiting patiently for an illegal protester to comply is not required at all by law. Immediate compliance is a requirement of all of us in society. If we do not comply, if we resist, if we defy legitimate authority the police have every right to increase their use of force to whatever minimum is required to enforce the law. These aren't babies. These aren't developmentally challenged young adults. They are fully empowered adults who clearly need to learn that if you're on private property and the owners tell you to leave, LEAVE. If the police tell you to leave, LEAVE. If you defy the owners, and defy the police, and offer any resistance or prevarication, you're going to be -- and should be -- restrained and cuffed and carried to compel compliance. And if you resist in any way, you're playing with fire.
If someone gets injured, by all means sue the police. If they used inappropriate force, they should be held responsible. But when the owners tell you to leave, and the police tell you to leave, LEAVE.
Well UCLA is PUBLIC and they pay to attend. Cops hide at school shootings but roughing up unarmed kids, they'll show up. Well these students are armed, with knowledge. BRI is RIGHT!
@derekekoch That's not unfair. However, I get the feeling that we don't agree on the amount of force that's appropriate, given that lawsuits _cannot_ rectify certain harms. Property is property, and life and health are on a different plane. Property can be fixed, and wages garnished to fix it. No problem. _Not so for human bodies._
There are better ways to handle these protests, as Northwestern University proved.
