Kathy Cash is a very genuine, down to earth person and this is one of the most interesting interviews I have ever had the pleasure to watch. I had many laughs and was fascinated by the stories of the one and only "Johnny Cash" and family. Well done Alex!

I knew he didnt mean me, but it made a poor kid feel special, when the youngest of 8, no one was special. But it was a small joy to be singled out.

Beautiful lady, beautiful stories. Her Dad carved her Mom's name in a cedar bench that was along the River Walk in San Antonio Texas. The story goes many years later her Mom found it on a visit to SA. She wanted to take it home but the city wouldn't let her and put it in a local museum. I remember at the time most of us felt she should have been allowed to take it home. I bet her Mom was a wonderful person. It takes a strong woman to love a man like that and love him enough to continue to honor him even after you let him go. She sure did a good job raising her girls.

    Alex, Wow!
What a fantastic job you’ve done to interview with Kathy Cash! I’ve known that you are a Johnny Cash fan from previous shows you’ve done (and quite a good musical impersonator at that).
Your appreciation for “The Man in Black” really shows through - subtly so - and helps make for a great interview. It was a great thing you’ve done to reach out to connect with his daughter. It’s also clear that you have made her feel very comfortable and at home talking about her family’s personal stories. That’s a skill that’s born of someone who’s a very good, natural listener and honors who they are talking to…
This is a professional level interview!!
Jeff M. (a follower and big fan of your show)

What an amazing tribute to a strong woman (and daughters) and all that they had to endure because the Father that they loved had the gift of song. It's hard enough to have family struggles without everything being so public. How painfuI to have to deal with that as children. I will be ordering Vivian's book and would encourage other's to watch the documentary "My Darling Vivian". Sending much Love to Kathy and her sisters.

It's always the little things that never make it into books and interviews that I love hearing the most. Santa's boots on the carpet, the monkey with the hat, riding a kiddos bike down a huge hill, jealously over the parrot, and blasting music from the rooftops. The 'normal' family life of a celebrity always intrigues me. Johnny Cash was a better actor than most people gave him credit for.

Lovely lady...my mom was born in a holler between Nashville and Memphis in the 20s and left during WWII, never to return. She met my dad about the same time that Kathy's parents met, 1956, and I was born 2 years later...we're in the same age group and definitely feeling those years! thanks Alex for doing the interview with her!

A wonderful interview! Johnny Cash was my Dad’s favorite singer and I’m so happy that I was able to take him and my Mom to one of his concerts. He talked about it till the day he died. My Dad would have been 100yrs old yesterday. Kathy is so beautiful just like her Mom!
I have read the book and seen the documentary and am going to watch again today💖🎶
