*Edward monches Bella's incompetently C-sectioned abdomen* Dr. Mike: "I've delivered 30 plus babies. I've assisted dozens more. Never seen a surgeon do that." Help I'm crying 😂
The reason Edward is doing that is because Bella's abdomen is very hard and is beyond any normal doctor's help, Edward has to use his vampire teeth to do the c-section.
To answer the question on why Carlisle isn't reacting to Bella's arm bleeding: If I recall correctly, he's used to it. Years of becoming a doctor and helping people since he was bitten in the late 17th century has made him learn to control the vampiric urges. Been 15 years since I read the books, but Carlisle's story was the one I remember the most.
Carlisle doesn’t react to the blood like the others because he is about 320 years old and trained himself to resist the urge of human blood, instead hunts only animals and considers him and his family “vegetarians”. He wanted to be a doctor since he was human, and took that into when he became a vampire, then trained himself after decades of practice. Also, Edward bit her to save her from dying, so he used the venom to transform her before she could fully die human. He also saved the baby while doing so. Incredible saga. Hope this helps!
As a die heart twilight fan, vampires can’t die from diseases or injuries cause they’re immortals. The only way they can die is from ripping their head off. Carlisle doesn’t get the intense craving for blood cause he’s been a vampire for so many decades that it doesn’t faze him anymore. When you’re a vampire, you stop aging cause of immortality. And the reason why the first movie looks like everyone is so pale cause of the filter they chose to use. The reason why Bella’s bones and health in general is so brittle cause since the baby is half vampire; it’s sucking all the nutrients, vitamins and of course blood from Bella.
Also there is a special jterine lining around the vampire baby, which might explain why the scans look so wierd, and like all vampire skin ots impermeable with steel etc, which is why Edward uses his teeth.
There's a special uterine lining for the vampire baby which is impenetrable by medical technology (imaging, scalples) which probably explains part of why the scan looks so wierd, and is why Edward uses his teeth to rip it open
I'm pretty sure a Twilight vampire can even survive a decapitation, or any lost body part for that matter, as long as they have a chance to glue themselves back together with their venom. Now, if said exposed and highly flammable venom is ignited with fire, they're truly done for. 🔥
-the placenta detached by accident when Bella tried to pick something up by bending over, so they had to do an emergency c-section -the placenta has the same level of invulnerability as vampire skin, so the only thing that can cut through it is vampire teeth, hence the stomach biting.
Hearing Dr Mike saying "You're not circulating the goddamn medication" caught me so off guard it is the hardest I've ever laughed at one of his videos 😂
6:23 Carlisle is the Olympic coven's (Cullen family) oldest vampire, basically having more control of his instincts. Jasper on the other hand is fresh meat or the newest vampire among them, so he has not completely controlled his blood lust. It was also said Jasper could feel the emotions of people around him so he most likely felt the blood lust of his family towards Bella. About contracting infectious blood diseases/disorders, nope, cause they are 'immortals'
immortal means they won't die of natural causes, if they got an infectious blood disease they would die just as easily as getting a stake to the heart lol
Jasper was the second oldest of the Cullens as he was a confederate and the rest were turned in the 1900s. I think he was just the newest to the "don't eat people" diet.
@@KitKat-kc3sq and he also had a different philosophical mindset than the others. He always believed that the blood-instinct was out of the vampire's control. He never saw it as a choice, a goal that could be accomplished by force of will.. at least not until Bella was able to suddenly stop chasing the human the first time she went out to hunt. This shattered his belief system.
“Is he eating the baby?” Nope, he was actually completing the caesarean with his teeth as (if I remember right) the scalpel wasn’t strong enough to cut through the uterus on account of the vampire baby
"my simple human mind is thinking like AMBULANCE. And they're like *we're just gonna fly*" Got me crying with laughter. Dr Mike's humour Is hilarious 😂 😂
“Vampires should be worried about blood borne diseases!” That’s literally how I learned about HIV in 5th grade. We watched a cartoon about a vampire that contracted HIV.
Of course Carlisle is in desperate need of a transfusion. He’s a vampire. He literally had almost all of his blood sucked out of him before he became a vampire.
Rather than "heal quickly", vampires in Twilight are, you could say, very durable. Their skin is like marble. But yes, in other hand, if they got hurt, they could heal themselves, though I'm not sure how long it takes. In other hand, the werewolves (or shapeshifters?) in Twilight do heal very quickly. Jacob needed one night to recover from shattering bones injury. And because he healed rapidly, the healing process was hell of pain.
To their credit, I think the reason why they did an awful job at chest compressions was because they didn’t want to hurt Bella. Imagine having super strength and being so careful you don’t accidentally kill them. When Edward pushes Bella away his strength flings her into walls lol Same with Jacob, Bella punches him and she ends up breaking her hand. So in that sense, their hearts were in the right place but they are ill equipped for the task at hand
I dunno, I still think they could've controlled their strength better; like how you do compressions on a baby vs an adult. Also ribs breaking is better than being dead.
i guess maybe a better example would be pushing an ant depending on how you see their strength, but even then you can gauge force between just pressing and squishing an ant despite how big we are
@@masterjunko hmmm I’m not so sure about that, given what we know about ants. And the occasional experimenting with them as kids haha In this particular instance we don’t know much about vampires. Like Dr Mike said, we would need to know how strong vampires are. Given that vampires and humans are the same size and share our same likeness, strength would be a problem. Carlisle did say it took him years before he could tame his bloodlust. But that was because he practiced. If I remember right, most of the other vampires kept to themselves and refused to socialize with humans. Meaning there was no practice in coping with their strength involved. How would they be able to gauge their strength if they never put it to practice with humans? Flinging Bella like a rag doll throughout most of the story showed Edward didn’t do much practicing haha
I love how he said the long hair doesn't look good on the actor that played Jacob, I've been saying that forever and nobody agreed 😭 thank you doctor i agree 😂❤
I’m a DV Survivor and I will say, you’re right about bacteria in the hand from punching someone in the mouth. My abuser actually had issues with infection after hitting me
I'm sorry you had to go through that but I am also be a little happy at their karma. Mine chomped down on my wrist (I was calling the cops) but thankfully I didn't get any infection. I think something is up with the nerves in that area though as there are numb spots and it's been 14 years.
6:27 it’s because he is a vampire since the 15th century so he has practiced to not react when he reacts or come across human blood and even The whole family practiced with him and in order to do that they drink animal’s blood (which is vegetarian to them) so that’s why he doesn’t react so they can control it while jasper is new to the family so he is still practising and that’s why he reacted that way
In middle school I was a diehard fan of the Twilight saga, to the point that I walked around telling people I had OCD (Obsessive Cullen Disorder) and not realizing what it really meant. Imagine the reality check I had when I was later diagnosed with ACTUAL OCD in college, which is a very different experience 😅😅😅
For some more context on the baby delivery scene. The baby's placenta detached which made the baby freak out and start kicking. It's very strong, like way stronger than an adult human, and in the process of kicking it broke her spine. The part where Edward is biting her wound is actually him trying to break the amniotic sack because it's also stronger than usual and won't just break on its own. The part where he lays the baby on her chest and you hear a weird sound and she says "ow" is the baby trying to latch onto her breast, but it has teeth and it bit her, so it hurt her. If you have more questions let me know.
@mb-sb5ever Before Bella and Edward, the way these half vampire half human babies got out of their mothers was by eating their way out of the amniotic sack. Bella is the first person to have "survived" birthing a creature of this kind. The movie doesn't go into this much detail though.
2:29 to this is I say Carlisle Cullen is a vampire with amazing vision and can move really fast I actually liked that bit because it show how he uses his vampire abilities to help ppl
You meant, "Save her, Edward" while saying, "Save her, Robert." 🧛🏻 "Bad vampire healthcare" is so funny that you got me laughing and "is he going to eat the baby" kept me giggling.
Dr. Mike ruminating on the parasitic qualities of carrying a child in real time was refreshing to watch. People usually make me feel like a bad person for feeling that way.
Hilarious to witness a medical doctor react to the "Twilight" series. Your amusing observations along with the medical diagnosis, despite its surreal plot, made it an entertaining watch. It's impressive how you keep your medical judgment sharp even in fantastic scenarios.
As a labor & delivery nurse who is ACLS certified (and who has cared for patients with placental previas & abruptions.....) the whole c section scene.... I can't!! 🤣🤣 I know. I'm far too literal. But Dr. Mike's reactions are absolutely priceless!!
9:58 Her placenta was impenetrable because her baby was half vampire. Meaning they couldn't find out how she was doing because they couldn't get imaging done. Imagine a giant crystal mass being right there, and that's what they would see.
You can tell Mike has seen STUFF during his years as a doctor because his reaction to the whole part from Bella breaking her back to her dying after birth was way too calm compared to anyone else. Lol.
My eldest maybe close to a vampire baby. He took up a lot of calcium from my body it cost my hair, nails& skin to break. My second cost me.2 of my tooth
No she did not. And i wish yall would stop saying that because it only lets me know you dont have any understanding of the character. Bella in the books is always prone to tantrums and fits of crying. She's very emotional and stubborn when things don't go her way. She can be very petulant at times. She also has a big martyr complex. To add, Bella is kinda funny. Yeah she has like that corny elementary school teacher humor that's kinda cringy but often you'll find her more so joking at the irony or the ridiculousness of a situation than really riffing off the dome or cracking like fart jokes or something. Book Bella is reserved, maybe a little shy but altogether a well put together person. So saying whatever the heck that was supposed to be Bella in the movies is the same as written is hilarious at best. Although I do mainly blame Kristen's acting for the common misconception. Bella's interesting, but i know not necessarily likeable. But not liking her doesn't mean that Bella is a poorly-drawn character. She's very much an individual, and in fact her lack of relatability is why she grated on my nerves so severely as the series progressed. Not just anyone would think and behave the way Bella does, but again to Meyer's credit, Bella's questionable decisions are driven by and stem from a consistent worldview and inner logic. That's an achievement - Bella's personality doesn't shift around so that she'll act in the way that best suits the plot, but rather she reacts to situations in tandem with who she already is. Kristen does the nothing of the sort. So in no way can you say Bella is a blinking and stuttering mess. And yes while Kristen gives off cool hippie mellow vibes, I think the brunette hair and the pale coloring is where all of the similarities with the character end. Because Bella is very girl next door, she's the quintessential pretty but doesn't know it yet, the shy introverted bookworm in that beauty and the beast might turn around and fall in love forever with brooding monster kind of way. But she was never a blanked face cringy pick me. Bella's even described as having a heart shaped face and full lips and big doe eyes and billows of long thick brown hair. In contrast to Kristen whose features are sharper, and who has a more chill skater chick vibe to her; not necessarily the blushing bookworm. And she does try but that softer girl next door vibe just doesnt come naturally to Kristen
@@leahscontemporaryAs someone who has read all the books, watched all the movies, and scoured through the supplemental material... I could not disagree more. Book Bella is a blank slate because that was the POINT. That era of teen romance fantasy was when the popularity of the 'self-insert' books was at an all-time high. The female protagonist characters were written with the idea of the reader 'being' that character in the story, so the characters themselves had to have very little personality. The only real defining trait of Book Bella is her fixation on Edward and being with him, and then later having a child with him. She doesn't even have any hobbies, ffs. If you've ever seen Kristen Stewart act in any other movies, you know that the way she played Bella was what the directors were telling her to do.
As a note, he bit the placenta open because (according to the book) they had previously discovered through trying to get a sample of amniotic fluid that the placenta was as solid as their vampire skin meaning no knife would be able to break it. Only vampire teeth (or I guess werewolf teeth) are strong enough to break through, so biting her open was actually always the plan, they were just expecting it to not be an emergency c-section with Carlisle not even on site yet
Yes! I was looking for this comment (so I didn’t remember it wrong) and also wasn’t this the reason why her scans looked so weird as well because they scan couldn’t go through the “steel uterus”?
9:21 I know why it looks all freaky like that! Because she's having a vampire baby she has a vampire amniotic sac, which blocks any imaging they try to do on the baby. Now, why they chose to make it look like an empty black void of despair... that I can't tell you.
@@screamingchameleon Thank you 🙂, both for explaining to me what the abbreviation stood for (because I like to know these things, and it bothers me, not to know), and for complimenting me on my guess of what it stood for. My 17 year old self came out and I never clicked so fast on a video🙃 From what I remember, Jasper (the one who ran at her) was the newest vampire so he was still learning to control the urges. Carlisle (the doctor) had been a vampire the longest I think so that's why he's able to be around blood more easily.
Fun fact: I went to middle school with the actress who played Rosalie (Nikki Reed). I love this video as it has been cracking me up especially when he says "Babies are vampires."
Dr. Mike I have answers to your questions 😅 • They are fine around blood because they drink animal blood instead. However the one vampire reacted because he hasn’t been without human blood long enough so he is still fighting the craving. • they aren’t worried about about blood illness because they heal •it’s not ginger ale she is drinking blood •he was biting her to give her venom and also get the baby out I would assume. But it’s so if she did die at least she has his venom in her so she can come back as a vampire. And he gave her extra to help her but she was already dead so the extra wouldn’t have worked. • there probably isn’t any bacteria from Edward because they heal and stuff but idk. Also the baby bit her. •Jacob wasn’t disgusted he was like he knew it was gonna happen, he warned her. • the doctor technically would have gotten his training hundreds of years ago so that may have explained some of his mistakes. • he didn’t stomp on the leg he grab it and broke it with his strength. I think that was it 😅 I have watched these movies too many times 😂
6:30 As someone who has read the books, and was a huge fan of the movies….that doctor vampire is not afraid of blood because he has been doing it for 400 years or so. He has quite an interesting backstory actually, he was born in the 1600s when people were really into vampire hunts. He was a devout Christian who got turned into a vampire during one of these hunts. His whole thing is that he subdues the monster within him by only drinking animal blood, and refuses to drink human blood. In fact he helps humans by becoming a doctor. He’s been a doctor for almost 200 years(which makes the mistakes almost funnier lol 😂). His whole family drinks only animal blood(they call themselves vegetarian vampires), but the newer members of his family have difficulty with it, because human blood is harder to resist.

Carlisle is the Olympic coven's (Cullen family) oldest vampire, basically having more control of his instincts.
To add to this, their blood doesn't flow, and they don't breathe, which is why they can't get sick
not the newest vampire, the newest VEGETARIAN. he was turned at the beginning of the civil war

Of course Carlisle is in desperate need of a transfusion. He’s a vampire. He literally had almost all of his blood sucked out of him before he became a vampire.
That is canonically inaccurate. The vampire who turned him did so accidentally and hastily, so not much blood was removed.

Jacob also started healing before his bones were set right, so Vampire Doctor had to break his ribs again to make them grow back the right way :)
@@MossLikesLJ real ouch moment 🤣 btw you mean Carlisle? 😅
He also healed faster than examined, so they needed to break his bones in order for them to properly align and heal
6:32 Carlisle is immune to the temptation of blood bc he’s been a vampire for so long and has trained himself on animal blood instead :)
@@StarRoseDragon5 I guess that's true as well, fair enough.

Why did the make the latch bite so loud 😭
@@star_baker So you could tell what's happening without them having to show her breast. And also because the baby has fangs.
First thought: The baby has teeth?
Second thought: oh yeah fast ageing
Third thought: but still?
@mb-sb5ever Before Bella and Edward, the way these half vampire half human babies got out of their mothers was by eating their way out of the amniotic sack. Bella is the first person to have "survived" birthing a creature of this kind. The movie doesn't go into this much detail though.

Just an FYI for anyone who didn't read the books, Kristen Stewart plays Bella exactly as she was written.
THANK YOU when people say omg “why is she acting like that so cringe” like duhhh that’s how she’s written
I'm not sure if that makes me feel better or worse 😂
Thank you! That’s why I tell people Stewart was the right choice for Bella. She is Bella.
Considering Edward is Bella's husband in the birth scene, she wouldn't want Jacob to be the one using his teeth for the c-section.
Also the books do tell you that Edward and Rosalie both have gotten their medical degree, they just don't actually practice medicine.
Yes! I was looking for this comment (so I didn’t remember it wrong) and also wasn’t this the reason why her scans looked so weird as well because they scan couldn’t go through the “steel uterus”?
@@KeloKatt off the top of my head I don’t remember anything about scans, but I do remember it causing issues collecting a sample of amniotic fluid
He didn't bit the placenta open you goof, he bit the amniotic sack XD
“Oh no she’s gonna eat the scalpel” Dr. Mike PLEASE 😂😂😂😂😂
9:21 I know why it looks all freaky like that! Because she's having a vampire baby she has a vampire amniotic sac, which blocks any imaging they try to do on the baby. Now, why they chose to make it look like an empty black void of despair... that I can't tell you.

Dr. Mike I have answers to your questions 😅
• They are fine around blood because they drink animal blood instead. However the one vampire reacted because he hasn’t been without human blood long enough so he is still fighting the craving.
• they aren’t worried about about blood illness because they heal
•it’s not ginger ale she is drinking blood
•he was biting her to give her venom and also get the baby out I would assume.
I think that was it 😅

As someone who has read the books, and was a huge fan of the movies….that doctor vampire is not afraid of blood because he has been doing it for 400 years or so.
