Im filipino but i grew up in the US. Atm i go to school in the philippines and one of the things i noticed is that when talking most of my classmates have accents but when they start to sing snap theres almost no accent for some reason. And they love singing too when we have free periods my classmates sometimes play songs out loud and sing along
Filipino not just sing with the tune, but more so in mimicking the accent of the original artist and even play with it.

My classmates are the same from Grade 8 and we are now Grade 9. We always have a guitar and bib box and every free time we have even if its 10 to 15 minutes only we still sing atleast 3 songs...Right now we always sing Magbabalik, Nobela, Hindi Na Nga and we never forgot to sing Sana and Buwan plus Kahit Ayaw Mo Na...

Well simply because we Filipinos use singing as an outlet of our feelings, each song sang with heartfelt emotions.. From youngest age up to the oldest, singing is in our blood.. And just when you place your heart in it, beautiful voice will be heard.. Karaoke happened to be the favorite bonding of every Filipino family and friends.. That couldn't be missed in any occasions and events in the Philippines, coz even during at wake, singing includes to our culture..

Tawag ng Tanghalan (Call of the Stage) is the biggest singing competition in the Philippines wherein it usually takes a year to know the Grand Champion. Each quarter there will be a daily competion where 4 contenders who will fight for the golden microphone but if you go out of tune you will be automatically eliminated by a gong, the one who will win will return the next day to defend his spot for five consecutive days without losing to anyone to reserve his spots in the 5-6 semi-finalists in each quarter. If he lose in his day 5 sorry to say he lose his spots real quick. Those semifinalist will again compete with each other for five days to choose the top 2 contender who will compete for the grandfinals to face the other top 2 contenders of other quarters. There's a thing called "resbakers/wild cards" the ones who lose in the semis in each quarter will have a chance to compete again with each other for a 2 spots in the grandfinals. So there will be 10 grandfinalists will fight again for 5 days coz it's not yet over only 6 of them will compete for the final stage of the competition. Those 6 will compete AGAIN for the Top 3 spots who will have a final showdown to know whose the real grandchampion is. You can't just imagine how incredibly good they are. They are the monsters of all monsters in terms of singing. 😂 so yeah it will take a year to know who is the best of the bestest.
