If you close your eyes and listen to her, you’ll notice a lack of breath control within her voice, causing her to be breathless and once or twice, gasp. It was also a pretty odd cover, not gonna lie.
One thing I must say.... Adam Levine, I love his observation when he is listening to the artist. He has a ear for flawless vocals especially when he turns around in the beginning. He already knows where it's going. This is how well I enjoy and observe him.

Ikr, it's almost like they're trying to coach someone's voice 😂
Various judges have sort of given an explanation to that over the years. A lot of the time they're not looking for someone who's already nearly perfect because those are the ones who can fairly easily "make it" on their own. What they're really trying to find is potential; someone with obvious talent AND some flaws, someone that could really benefit from their mentoring and guidance and develop into something great. The Voice, much more than any other similar "sing to win" shows, really puts a lot of emphasis on helping the artists grow and perfect their skills, rather than having the emphasis put on just having them hash it out over and over to find the natural best........the show kind of embodies the cliché of "it's not the destination that matters, it's the journey"...
Also, my apologies for that being so long....with all the nonsense and idiocy on RUclips, I occasionally enjoy giving a proper and detailed response to things :D

Everyone that loves music has some soul in them no doubt about it. It doesn't matter what the race is. I've seen white men like Kidrock he is right up there with them on stage, some people aren't prodigious and know good music and Nelly as well with Flordia Georgia Line are just some examples and there are many many more.

Jordan Smith’s audition was the biggest surprise for me! When I first heard him, I thought, “Oh, she has a great voice! That’s a great cover of Sia’s Chandelier!”. Then when I saw him, my jaw dropped!! Wow, what a voice he’s got! I was almost as stunned as Gwen Stefani!

The judges should’ve chosen the first guy he was amazing I don’t care if they thought he was a woman he’s an amazing singer and he deserves to win or at least a chance to make the judges turn I’m surprised they didn’t all turn around for him he’s amazing I honestly love the way he sang the song so beautifully and smoothly with all the high notes hit perfectly

I think what threw them off was he switched "boy" to "girl" so they hesitated probably thinking it was a mistake. Luckily shakira didnt care and turned anyway so she got lucky.
