I would get a 3/8 if I had to pick one to start with. I did everything the first few years with just the 3/8

long neck 1/4 or regular 1/4 i’ve worked at two different shops i use a regular 1/4 and i haven’t met a single person that has a 3/8 milwaukee ratchet lol

Don't get a 3/8" cordless.
You will almost never use it. Always 1/4" cordless ratchet. 3/8" air ratchet.
