      For what i understand covid will become less severe like any virus look at ebola and its local sup kinds .I believe covid is the same .Here in german, we actualy have less deaths per infected now than in april .Question is benign mutation or better treatment ? Ps i also believe local covid is a thing here in berlin we had people who got internal bleeding by covid while on ventilator .While you had children that got kawasiki sydrom ish symptomes in UK .What do you think ?

      @@peterwolf8395 people who are most likely to suffer severe consequences don't survive, the ones who do survive are those predesposed to fair better. But we are talking generations. What you might be seeing is the consequences of something called Virus Load. The viral illness can be more severe depending how how much virus a person was exposed to. Mos virus have a minimum exposure load to cause mild symptoms, severe illness or death. Don't know the specifics about Covid-19, but that's generally how it works.

    Sending love. I’m in Melbourne, Australia. We’ve just come out of one of the strictest lockdowns, it lasted 120-130 days. We went from 750~ cases 3.5months ago, and earlier this week we had back to back 0 cases and 0 deaths, for this first time since the start of March. It’s been tough, but you can get through it!
    EDIT: We’ve just found out that today was our 3 “donut day” (0 cases, 0 deaths) in a row, meaning we’ve had 5 in 8 days. We’ve been looking at our 14 day average cases, and it’s fallen to 1.9 today!

      And neither should you have to.
      Noone expects you to jump out of nursing school and be a ready made Nurse. That's not how this works.
      You have to LEARN this job. Not just the medical science and the routines of treating patients but also how to deal with all that healthcare throws at you. Stress wise, mindset wise as well. You have the right to have time to learn a job over time.
      And just because graduation is delayed doesn't mean you can't learn other things while you wait. Even if that's just sorting yourself out in this time and thinking about how you deal with the pandemic. Your time of saving others will come don't rush it :-)

    Tests have shown vit D reduces ICU death rates from 50% to just 2%.
    We have 300ish dying per day, so around 600 critical admissions. If vit D was given that would give 12 deaths per day average.

      @@Hagg-o-tron as i said, im not medically trained. The stats were mentioned on Dr john cambell youtube channel a few weeks back, i think it was spanish research into 75 patients with known low vid D admitted to ICU. They gave massive doses of the refined vitamin so it was effective from day 1, instead of taking a week to get into the system. 25 had no vit D, and all standard covid treatments. 13 died. The other 50 got the vit D, 1 died out of 50.
      Note, the test was conducted with patients who were tested last year and found to be low on vit D.
      Dr cambell has been analyzing data from various reputable sources, and has the papers he referenced on his channel, he's the person you should be interested in contacting regarding vit D.
      In addition to reducing deaths, vit D also decreased severity of symptoms and reduced the need for the more dangerous life support which has such high mortality.
      I think every 60+ yr old should be taking vit D, and making sure they are not deficient, as it would mean the hospitals dont need to later...

    A really big question for you and your landlady. At the end of the VLOG you discussed the importance to consider the finite volume of ICU staff. Does that mean fully manning the multiple Nightingale hospitals would have been not possible should they have all been mobilised? In fact, would it have been possible to man even a single Nightingale with a full compliment of staff?

    • @patriciahiddings3273
      @patriciahiddings3273 4 года назад +2

      As I understand it, people who are put on ventilators with Covid-19 have a lot of mucus and partly destroyed lungs and all because of their own immune system overshooting. Giving them more oxygen and putting the lungs under pressure can in some cases be harmful, but not putting them on ventilators is no option too

    • @alexdubois6585
      @alexdubois6585 4 года назад +1

      I think this is because it is already too late, and helping with oxygen/ventilation does not help with complications due to immune system response. There is a good video by Nija Nerd Lecture from 7month ago which try to explains the condition.

    • @xiola
      @xiola 4 года назад +2

      There is another video on his channel where Sonia take about this a lot. Ventilators require you to be put in an induced coma and that in and of itself is very hard on the body; anesthesia can have harmful effects especially in the elderly, and every day you are in a coma your muscles atrophy, etc. The longer you are on the ventilator the longer the recovery process will be and not everyone is strong enough for it. But I expect most of the death rate is just the fact that if you are sick enough to go onto a ventilator in the first place, then you were likely to die without the ventilator and the ventilator does not cut that risk back to zero; it is a help, not a cure. Once you need a ventilator you're already among the most sick and at-risk you can be and less likely to recover in the first place - the ventilator is a last resort and while it can save some people it can't save everyone. Whereas someone who doesn't get sick enough to need a ventilator is more likely to recover in the first place.

      @TheCausation That’s not the truth, last week I was waiting for a train. When the train approached, I saw someone stood up from the seat and stood behind the door through the window, so I politely waited outside the train door and tried to let him open the door and get off the train first.
      But after the 20s, door stayed closed, there was still no sign he was getting off, so I pushed the button and opened the door. Was a young man without a mask. I tried to get on the train, and he just stood there blocking my way, so I stepped back and see if he wanted to get off... But no. Train door is wide, so I moved to the left side of the door see if I could get on, but he moved and blocked the left as well, I moved right side blocked again. The train was about to leave, so finally I asked him ”what do you want”, he put his face so close to mine like only 5cm, and I was super threatening consider I am just a petite girl and at that time no one else around. He pulled off my mask and threw it on the floor, then ran away with an evil laugh. I actually freaked out and so worried for few days. You think this aggression is acceptable?

    • @stevepirie8130
      @stevepirie8130 4 года назад +1

      Apparently once the lungs are badly full of coagulant they can’t let oxygen in and carbon dioxide out which leads to organ failure from both effects. Ventilator is merely ensuring what little gets into your body is as pure as it gets for efficiency.
      There was an article on the BBC website about what covid actually does and how, might still be there.
