Arched backs/open hips give the skill a flowly look.
There are others, but I cannot stand it when DLOs are filmed from the front, sorry!
Surprisingly, Jordyn Wieber. I know that bars wasn't her best event, but her dismount was gorgeous. I'm so bummed that she wasn't able to compete in college; I feel like she could have scored a 10--or close to it--on a super-clean, pared-down routine with the dismount as the highlight.
Kara, Leanne, peng peng, mccool, bogi. No banana layouts or pike downs
I've had too much of full-ins off bars...and double back tucks and pikes on floor.....
The double tuck 1/1 is definitely the most overused dismount right now it's actually refreshing to see a DLO sometimes!

The DLO is hardly overused compared to the double tuck 1/1. In fact, it's refreshing to see Nemour connect into the DLO
Except Nemour's body shape is hardly the best.
@@bagelizedyes Nemour does connect them but she dismounts close to the high bar and she often does not have good body position and piking

I think the double layout dismount looks so elegant.
I am NOT tired of double layout dismounts.
I LOVE the performances by Boginskaya, Eaker, and McCool. They're the only ones who keep the body straight and hollow throughout the entire skill, without any arching or excessive piking. I know a lot of people prefer the arched backs since the gymnasts look more like they're soaring through the air...but, personally, I prefer the technical precision of a truly laid-out DLO because it seems much more difficult to pull off!

Even if a skill has been overused but is beautiful like this i think is ok.
I don't think its overused, I called it a Classic Difficulty, an element that has always been difficult (to some extent) for generations
Yao Jinnan is the queen of stuck DLO dismount!! Beautifully stretched body line and so effortless!
This dismount is not overused!!!! it is undervalued and underappreciated
I’m sorry but the DLO is that one skill I just can’t get enough of. Specially when it’s well executed without piking of the hips. ❤

I'd rather these than the full-in tuck--which needs to be downgraded to a C.

@@ojk46 The DLO is fine at a D, but as the double tuck is a B the full-in should be a C. I'd be inclined to say the full-out should be a D but that dismount has been getting overused since the 90s and there are almost 20 different D-value dismounts in the code (some of which should be rated higher) but variety is much needed on bars.
Love DLOs! One of my fave skills. I love layouts. Standout performances are Trinity Thomas, Yao Jinnan, Kyla Ross, and Jordyn Wieber, but there are SO MANY BEAUTIFUL DLOs it's hard to pick!

Can’t get enough but I prefer the “super straight” position rather than the “arched.” Especially performed by the first girl in the white leotard, she was completely straight. Loved it.
Meh.. depends. Like I could watch the Chinese DLO all freaking day, but anyone else is like "oh ok" haha

I personally think chinese athletes have the best DLO..no piking no flexed feet of any sort and the sticks are just the cherry on top❤
double layouts on bars are a thing of beauty to watch especially if they're perfectly stuck, and the gymnasts have that arched back and no piking until the end. i love when chinese gymnasts do this.

I think it is an injustice to get a Double Layout dismount compilation without Yao Jinnan.
I think I’ve only seen her fail to stick enough times to count on one hand.

Is it just me that despises dead straight DLOs? I-shaped looks so much less appealing than )-shaped, it always looks like they're piking
