GOA UNLOCKED | An Alternative Travel Guide 2021 | GOAing BEYOND Episode 1

- Travelling to Goa has always been the same old routine of heavy continental food, walks on the beach, occasional drives to South Goa and late night parties. But this time, I decided to take it slow and live like a Goan, feel its legacy, touch the beautiful unexplored side of Goa and not just party or stroll the beaches.
So instead of just blindly running behind the so called best places to visit in Goa, I traveled slowly and thoroughly. This was an experience which changed my perspective about Goa forever. The thing that I think has changed the most for me is how simple life can be in Goa, yet beautiful enough for people who settled there centuries ago. It was surprising to know how Goan families did not allow their kids to cross North Goa and visit Baga or Calangute beach. I also learned the concept of 'Aada Padap' which makes life king size for Goans.
Mix all this with the authentic Goan fish curry and a specially made fenny cocktail, the whole experience was completed with the joy of getting to live like a true Goan for a few days!
But in the end do remember that COVID is still very much a REALITY !!!
It's true that Goa is opening up for tourism, but is it safe to travel during Covid. Well we are not here to give you GYAAN on travelling to Goa after lockdown. But it goes without saying that if possible please avoid travelling for some more time. Still if you have to, please travel responsibly - not only for your own sake but for others as well. So a Goa trip in 2020/21 should be done keeping all the precautions in mind

Awesome blog you proved modesty may touch ur soul.
Thanks a ton
Bro, the days of tick marking of 7 spots or 9 spots in a day is over for people like me. Slow Tourism is the way to travel ....there is so much to learn that way. Very well done video. Goa is one place where one goes back again and again .... it's got a strange magnetic attraction and you cant help but fall in love with the place. Just one suggestion ..... do write the subtitles of places, their location and the distance from popular places ( say Redonda Restaurant in Calangute or Newton's Supermarket in Candolim) . For example, its difficult to make out ( for the uninitiated) that you are talking of Rachol which is about one and half hours from Calangute. But it's a great effort..... and with great visuals ........looking forward to the next one 👏👏👍👍
Point noted Soumitra. Thanks a bunch for a comprehensive review 😊
Loved the vibe of this! Waiting for the rest of the episodes!😄
Keep watching 💛
Amazing video....you should make more such video's. The video angel's and editing is superb. Approach good times or travel xp. It's worth watching on TV. Keep up the work.
Thank you so much 😀. Hopefully soon it'll be on TV 🤫😉
It was a wonderful experience today, when you mentioned another Goa in front of us, this Goa was really unknown. However, keep this addiction alive for the rest of your life. One day I will definitely arrive, looking for this new Goa.
Thanks Iliyana. Hope you find your own paradise in Goa ❤️

haha 😊
Intro was too good. Nice editing.
Glad you liked it!
If you really want to breath in a place, have enough time with no plans in mind, just move on . Every nook and corner of Goa is mesmerising, it is different. If You want to relish Goa, board a local bus and travel Goa with local people, you will come to know many new things, villages of Goa will present you a different picture, altogether different. Actually, What happens , we ride a car or taxi and pass by the places peeping from the window leaving behind many live stories….
In my opinion, if you want to know a place or people living there, mingle with them and local transport, though not that comfortable compared to a taxi or a car, will make you understand the real real world around there … V K Sharma
Hi....we met your team at the stok museum in leh:)...you mentioned another blog of yours. What isthat?

You should have visited Goa in the 1970s, it was a real paradise way back then. The hippies began to arrive in the late 1960s and the beaches came alive with the sun worshippers from all over the world. I recall we even had our resident Naga Baba in the Calangute area who would do his Sadhna every morning. There was a flea market in a place called Anjuna where these global travellers used to come every Wednesday to trade and sell all their stuff (like a Chor Bazaar) and you could even buy drug-laced hash cakes. Goa first came to prominence with the development of the Taj Beach Resort in Sinquerim and the filming of the Alistair Maclean based film "Sea Wolves" featuring Roger Moore, this was the advent of premium tourism which then evolved in budget tourism and led to a decline in the quality of the tourist experience in Goa. The culture of Goa is a mosaic of Portuguese influence which, unfortunately, decimated a lot of our traditional Vedic culture, many temples were destroyed and you can still find traces of temples which were converted into churches. The Portuguese introduced a culture of materialism which is what appeals to the visitors who seek the "cultural" experience., but in order to truly experience the culture of Goa, as you have shown in 7:20, one needs to visit the hinterlands of Goa where you can still experience the remnants of the old cultural practices. Many Goans migrated out from Goa due to the availability of Portuguese passports which all Goans could avail of. Goa has changed a lot over the years but you seem to have captured the essence with this vlog. Appreciate your research and excellent thematic videography.
This should air on Travel XP. The camera angles are too good.
That's very kind of you 🤗

This is true goan
Living slow life is my motto. Explored all these places and more since 1993. Always wished some tech savvy new gen guy to make good short films of these hidden places and you did the job splendidly. You excel in all the departments and the films you shot beyond compare. Good job young man. As someone commented, I too agree that your channel is truly underrated. But that is all for a shorter while as it takes time to find diamonds.
Thanks so much for sharing this sir.
"it takes time to find diamonds" 🤗🤗🤗

Wow! Beautifully captured and great conversation. This is by far one of the best video on Goa from a travel blogger. Kudos
Thank you so much Ansupriya 😀. So happy to hear that
What a joyful and overwhelming excitement of watching this Awesome Presentation after an intense Intezaar , especially @ 4:49 - the views of the Magnificent Seminary of Rachol - reminded me the Enthralling Experiences of visiting this Well- Maintained four centuries old Seminary from inside too !! An unforgettable memory , still alived !!
However ,Thanks !! Abhishek , for focusing on the Natural serenity & Hidden beauty of South Goa rather than on the Over-Explored Beaches of North Goa !! Believe me , these are the Unique ways that you do to keep your viewers SPELLBOUND !! Yahi toh hai Likings & Waiting of your Videos ki Wajah!!👌👌
Thanks so very much Jyotsna. Gad it could evoke those beautiful memories 💛

Really happy to see that finally that u have explored Goa.. however, m not happy with the explaination of Seminary given by the young Goan, I being a Goan myself feel definetly not convinced with it.
The explanation was just incomplete. It is basically a school. It's just that it's a school for future priests.
You have best camera men ever❤🔥
Falling in love with Goa all over again ❤
The New Goa 😄💛
Love your slow travel vedios
What is the name of village which you have mentioned.. I really want to visit that village rashore??
Rachol
Amazing ❤️👍👍
OMG!! What you guys are creating is out of the world. This is like a treat to an offbeat traveller who has been hunting for such experiences. A couple of stories shared by Kedar from his childhood days is so nostalgic and made me attached to the place instantly. 😃
The New Goa!! I completely agree that it is not just about 3 Bs, there is a lot more to it. Goa has some kind of Enchanting or Magical pull that makes everyone go back again and again. With this video, you guys have not only justified the pull but also enhanced it a bit. Love you guys from the core of my heart for taking us on unforgettable and spectacular journeys. 👍🏻😊
