      The Alva's were so rad. The sunburst paint jobs were killer and such a Mötley Crüe of skaters.

    I have 2 that I ride. 1) Jeff Grosso Forever Blacklabel deck, Indy 169's, Rat Bones 90a's with Reds, 1/8 risers, and Pig rails. 2) Jesse Martinez Dogtown Guadalupe Handshake, Indy 159's, Powell soft slides with Reds, 1/8 risers, rib bones. I'm excited to try the Dragons now that they have some green 60mm's coming out!

    I’m skating a lucero cross with 169 indus and 60mm bones wheels all black with pink cross. Love it. Only thing I want to change is the wheels because they are way too soft for me

      If you ever happen to come across a sims staab genie board , please let me know. You seem to know where to look more than me. It was my first skateboard and I’d love to have one again . I’ve been looking for years and can’t seem to find one . I know staab has started releasing some of his old borates but have yet to see that one anywhere. Would be much appreciated for any ideas where to look from anyone. Thanks .

      @@Adrian-rn1ym I've seen one on FB Market Place. Dude didn't know what he had...he sold it to me then was getting messages from a million other collectors and it got messy so I bailed...he kept playing us off each other. It's a difficult one to to come by but a really rad deck. I'm looking for the Sims Eric Nash Bandito 2. It was my second pro deck.

    Nothing looks better than the board shapes of the 80’S (Dogtown Aaron Murray, Vision PsychoStick, Schmitt Stix Ripsaw, and many others …) ! And the graphics were so rad too ! The "good old days" …
    Nowadays all the skateboard decks look alike, there is no longer this originality. So boring ! 😮‍💨

      @@80slove I love how bigger boards with unique shapes have become popular again. Seems like old is new again, from decks to wheels and even trucks ...with independent making stage 4's again. now all I need is for vision street wear to start making their high tops with ollie pad again.

    Dragons are great, def try them out. I like the 56s, have those on my Welcome Golem shape deck with 159 Indys. Running 95a OJII combos on my Sea Rat Alley Mobber with 9" gullwing shadow DLXs and dragons slide just as well if not better and ride smoother. Can't ride 97a or harder any more. Just too rough on the joints for this old guy.

    If you ever get Powell G-Slides, would be interested to know what you think of them. I only have a couple hours on a set I just got, but, was happy with the slidability of the wheels, considering they are 85A. The ones I tested were black. I'm getting some white ones I'm going to test on another board.

      @@idmhead0160 Nice...how are the Dragons for cruising?

    • @idmhead0160
      @idmhead0160 Год назад +1

      @@80slove Before I got the G-Slides, I was thinking that the Rat Bones Dragons were my favorite wheel for putting on old school decks. Looks-wise, they may still be. I have the 56mm Widecut Bones shaped Dragons, the 58mm Rat Bones II Dragons, the 60mm Rat Bones Dragons, and the 64mm G Bones Dragons. I found that wider wheels roll better on rougher surfaces, like medium rough asphalt. If you've ever used the reissue Rat Bones or G Bones, you will likely like the Dragons better. The shapes are the same, but, they are a bit narrower. The Contact patch for the Rat Bones Dragons and the G Bones Dragons is similar. The way they roll, I would say they are both pretty much identical. It would just depend on how tall you want the wheel to be, and which one looks better to you. The other thing is that the Rat Bones are offset wheels that add 3/8" to the overall width of the trucks. I got the Powell Ripper natural/blue reissue. The one with the K15 concave (deep). And I'm planning on putting Indy 159s on it with Rat Bones. I think they'll be a little narrower than the deck, but, it's a pretty good fit. Long story short, even though it can be annoying that they are offset, I think they come in handy in cases like that where you might prefer a narrower truck, but, it's a wide deck.

    • @idmhead0160

      I really like the Rat Bones Dragons for cruising the medium rough asphalt near my house. They roll much better than narrower wheels. The Bones shaped smaller Dragons roll much better than harder wheels as well. I think the Rat Bones are a bit faster though. I did a roll test starting from the same point on the hill in front of my house and the Rat Bones went a bit further than the smaller narrower wheels.
