- In this video I replace the tired original clutch cable and quadrant arrangement found in many Ford vehicles from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. The new parts from Maximum Motorsports include an OEM cable, machined non adjustable quadrant, firewall adjuster, and heat shielding. The results are a much smoother clutch pedal actuation and peace of mind that the old plastic quadrant wont fail and leave you stranded

No the throw out bearing on the mustangs are made to made to stay engaged so you have to set the aftermarket cable up with pressure on the clutch bearing I have broke 7 cables by not haven't it set where it has preload on the cable all the time
Interesting. Yea this one is a hydraulic setup. Wayyy better than the cable clutch I had in 3 previous SN95s
Awsome thx a lot ,my plastic quadrant fail today .Now i know what to looking for
Awesome glad i could Help!
Digging these Cobra vids as I own an 03 Mach. I used to drag race it before but was starting to do some suspension mods to try some AutoX. Never got around to it due to work, other projects and whatever. Time to haul it out of hibernation. Thanks for the inspiration!
Really enjoy your vids!
Good video with a lot of detail, except swapping the quadrants themselves, that’s why I clicked the video to see if there was a quicker or easier way to swap em. 👍👍👍
Unless you have $300 for a cable setup it's hard to find a cable stronger than the factory cables The quadrant is the weakest point and having a firewall adjuster is a plus but keep the stock cable until you absolutely need another one and even then I would still buy another OEM. Just my 2cents
Great video very helpful, thank you so much! 😁
Got a new subscriber keep up the good work
Is it possible to use a new quadrant and a firewall adjuster with the stock Ford cable?
I want to say yes you can. To triple check go to MM’s website and see the description on the cable they list. It may just be an OEM Ford cable
Anybody install a new quadrant only to have the cable snap?
