Its Dead Silence. I think its a bit too op, you can literally not hear someone rushing up behind you through all the favela windows. Would be great if the perk makes you slower, as it is now, theres no reason to not instantly use it 24:7 when unlocked.

I haven't been playing cod in 5+ years and g I still comeback for the cod reviews especially for this one mw3 was my favorite game but this looks nothing like it but nonetheless I might get it just to see if it might hit like mw3 Back in the day
I‘d say the movement is the big thing why the maps play so different. Back then sprinting was a resource, now you can sprint 24/7 pretty much. Additionally the spawn is COMPLETELY different.
Back then there was marathon & lightweight pro. Along with ninja pro. Sprinting has always been apart of COD. Even weapon mobility when taken into account for person speed

I started COD in 2006, yet recently retired when the atrocity that was Vanguard came out and pushed me away from this beloved franchise. On top of that, seeing how COD is now charging $70 for DLC multiplayer, mid campaign, and zombies no one asked for, it’s safe to say COD is in the past for me. Glad to see you can still enjoy it though.
felt that, I gave up after ghosts and came back for the new MW2 after some coworkers coaxed me into nabbing it. launch month was dog ass. couldn't invite friends and got regular bugs where I couldn't even go to my socials menu, or wouldn't hear my teammates but heard the entire enemy team and couldn't mute them. I paid the full $70, so why was I not having a $70 experience? I would've felt scammed paying twenty. that solidified it to me that cod just isn't for me anymore.

It's on purpose. The old spawning system was perfect in like OG mw3 for example. It's on purpose because they want bad players to get free kills. That's their entire motive with every decision.

TLDR: this feels like a copy and paste, and makes me miss the old days 😅😂 As someone who played day 1 2009 mw2 as a 10 yr old , this was a nice nostalgia moment for me. However, I feel like I’m playing a really good mod. First two hours was nice cycling through the maps looking to see if they got every little detail( they didn’t); feeling out the movement system and such. Then it sets in, where’s the iconic announcers, where is the music when the game starts, mid battle, and end. And then you look at the gun you’re shooting, this is not mw2, this a different game using the maps I loved as kid growing up. I don’t know what I was expecting. Didn’t plan on buying the game, and I’ll hold out to see what the other maps look like till the close the beta entirely. Will say the movement system isnt completely terrible with the maps imo

Well honestly the nostalgia got the best of me on this one. The 150 health is a dead breaker for me as I always was a hardcore player . I was too very bored with the game after about 2 hours , I just don't think cod will ever be what is was . It's tike to move on .

Nothing crazy so it’s not insanely cluttered, but just a faint red outline on enemies when looking at them would make it so much easier to distinguish people.

the player base will just camp on all maps regardless of how the game is built so the maps only matter about which room the enemy team will hide in and what perks / equipment will let them stay in that room without dying the longest. The run and gun classes that people make vids are just telling the campers what classes to expect and not really doing anything for the run and gun types. Gun fights are a thing of the past most players want to just let a claymore or a Betty do the work for them and none of the classes that the RUclipsrs or streamers make are ever made with that in mind.
Well so far, I’m a super heavy run and gun type of player no matter what weapon I’m using, sniper, smg, AR, and this year everyone loves to get into gunfights because it’s fun, it’s a breathe of fresh air, the movement feels good so it kinda influences players to move around and be tactical instead of sitting in one spot. The only issue would be regular game modes like TDM where players don’t have an objective so they sit on top of buildings in favela, but other than that objective game modes are a blast.
Are we playing the same game dude? All i see are people bunnyhop slide cancel spamming their way around the map with dead silence, i would actually LOVE to see people playing more defensive. I have not once encountered a player setting up mines in a room and i played the beta every day. All i'd seen were people crying about ''campers'' every round, even when someone was standing in a corner to simply reload. So im guessing you are like them.
what are you even here for? Call of duty is known for having players who put in 1000s of hours. its really not crazy at all. this would be normal for a regular person whos not a youtuber. In his case hes reviewing the game, it wouldnt be a detailed video unless he played the game alot.
When you mentioned the gameplay being dark and hard to see, I immediately thought of Bane: "Oh, you think darkness is your ally. But you merely adopted the dark; I was born in it, moulded by it. I didn't see the light until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but BLINDING!"
There's also a glitch with the guardian where once you get effected by it, you lose your HUD and can't tell who is the enemy and who is your team (until you die)

Only reason I got mw2 was because they told us Cod would be released every two years and promised us these maps for the second year… but then come out outta no where with mw3, to get even more money. Remastering these maps don’t do anything, they should have done a mw1 type of remaster where it still felt like the old thing

The problem with 150 base health is balancing issues. The reason OG Mw2 did so well is that every single weapon was strong and viable, only difference was basically recoil. That is how it should be. Do you want AR's to 4 shot you at medium range, then pick up a P90 and use 12 rounds at medium range? The differential between strong and weak weapons become much more apparent with higher health pool's. Of course, Sub machine guns should be close quarter guns, AR medium to long, and DMR/Sniper long to very long- but when you look at the maps, there isn't enough mixing between these ranges to justify the damage differentials. This is why you see people use the AK, SCAR, M4A1 most of the time, because they serve you best at any range.
From all of my watches of this game, it plays and sounds so much like vanguard, but with the skin of mw2. The clean realistic engine but with faster and more fun mechanics, I’m excited

It's not even that Derail is bad it's just too big. It feels 3 times as big as a normal map. Ton of spawning and running and everything happens in the middle building so a lot of space gets wasted. But curious to see if hard point utilizes that a little bit like the back of Skid Row. Could actually be better than the OG which isn't saying much
I like the point about map utilization. I don't really like hardpoint, as I'm an S&D main, but I did play it in BO2. However, I can admit some of the bigger maps can benefit from more modern game modes. Hardpoint can put an objective in a previously low traffic section of the map and switch it up.
I feel like the maps won’t be as fun due to the movements. OG Mw2 movements were slower, still glad they’re adding them in! Rather have OG maps than the map reskinned.
List of What I Deem Necessary Features For a Good Game. A) remove unnecessary movement (sliding and tac sprint. It makes the game require “more skill” and no one wants to sweat, they just want a fun time.) B) remove attachments that provide any sort of damage increase. (These make it so higher level players will quickly look for a way to get into lower level lobbies. They also provide an unfair advantage to people who don’t have that attachment.) C) make certain spawn killing is impossible. Whether it be relocating where they spawn mid game or having spawn protection. (No one likes to die before they even get the chance to move/play.) D) design new maps (I know impossible right?) E) add DLCS for maps in zombies and multiplayer. By doing so you will make passive income from two sources. People are buying the game and buying more fun content. (Worked for every cod before bo4 should work even better since the player base should only rise if done right. At any point if a player base starts to die out it's time to come up with a new game idea.) F) Remove any paid for bundles (Money hungry feature that pushes away most casual players.) G) make any cosmetic locked behind a difficult or fun challenge to add content. (In doing so players will be encouraged to play the game more than if there was only the same thing as every other game.) H) add fun little easter eggs around maps. (Self explanatory but it's just a nice little touch for people who get nostalgia highs.) I) Keep guns/weapons fun NOT realistic Snipers one shot above waist. Shotguns one shot at close range but are near useless at range. ARs depending on mag size have more or less dmg/fire rate and never kill in less than 5 bullets. SMGs are the same as ARs but deal more damage close range and less at distance, for example they 4 shot close range but 7 shot at distance. LMGs are the same as ARs but will take additional bullets to kill in general due to the excessive magazine. Pistol will be identical to SMGs but you move a little faster and can switch quicker. J) Take the necessary time to get a good base before launching. (People will always wait for a good game, but will quickly discard a poorly launched game.) Finally, don't ignore feedback like it’s going to kill you to look at other people’s opinions.
I always thought it seemed odd when they released the mw2 remake without mp. Im convinced they made it, decided not to release it so not to split the playerbase that year, and then they held onto it and tweaked it and its now mw3 2023. It plays like an mw2 remake.

I like the movement. footsteps are confusing. Sometimes, i can't tell if it's the enemy or a teammate. The kill sound effects are boring. Mw2 did it better; especially the headshots. The uav duration is too short. Aim assist was only strong at long range. Counter uav's last too long. Visibility is kinda dookie. Blue dots don't show sometimes. Spawns were only bad for me on skid row. I earned xp a little too fast as i got to lvl 20 in barely 5 hours, and the servers are unstable even for a beta...
*THIS!* The footsteps for enemies/teamates are exactly the same. Its actually amazing how nobody has mentioned this because its constantly disorientating.
5:26 the problem is your teammates Footsteps are just as loud as the enemies where in MW3 beta, as in modern warfare 2 2022 you’ll hear the enemies footsteps much better then your teams footsteps.

Man MW2 is a huuuge slice of nostalgia for me personally. Looking back through all the modern call of dutys the game transformed completely to the point where I no longer play. I saw the lineup of maps and instantly knew this was MW2. I preordered this just to play the beta and popped 50-60 kills most games after not playing for 10+ years. I am looking forward to jumping straight into what i think is going to be the next best call of duty in the modern age.
Solid breakdown, I totally get your point on estate vs skidrow as far as maps go but oddly enough I enjoy estate and dont really like skidrow lol. It's probably just because I'm not great at the game but I feel like I can see easier in Estate and plan my attacks out but then in Skidrow I feel like I'm just staring at grey walls and getting picked off around corners lol. Almost definitely a skill issue but it was cool to see a different opinion.
The thing about the visibility: The game lacks contrast in its lighting. Everything feels flat gray, whether in shadow or in the sun, and this is especially true for Estate.
I think the spawn thing is a bug because there is quite a number of times where I've lit respawned meters away from mutliple enemies who have just respawned in and sometimes I havent even realised because EVERYONE LOOKS THE FKN SAME!! Surely they gonna fix both these things pretty quick Back during WW2 i remember the spawns being equally as dog shit and they fixed them pretty quickly. Its a shame the rest of ww2 wasn't fixed quicker because it was a very solid COD 6 months down the line.
@@Coffeendonuts I disagree personally. It took way too long for fixes to be put in place and the maps were awful. It was decent once it got fixed but most people had abandoned the game by that point. Id rate BO3 and BO4 higher and put ww2 on par with MW2019 from the last ten years.

Some tweaks are needed, I think if they adjust the movement A BIT MORE, fix the visibility and a few other things, it'll be a freaking dope game. I've had A TON of fun on my PS5, and am looking forward to the PC beta. Also the devs making this have made it clear they want to listen to feedback and have a reputation for doing it. So if that is the case, I am over all really excited.

With new movement and speed. its not an update its completely different, its pretty oblivious to say this could be an update. When theres a new call of duty theres only ever minor tweaks to the formula. dont fix whats not broken, MW2 was the best selling cod ever, they fixed a few issues but i could see why the core mechanics are the same mostly

I agree with the spawns, I've noticed the exact "revenge spawn" and have gotten many kills from it. But I've also had some moments where I've spawned legit right next to an enemy

Just so everyone is clear, this is the finished game (well, as finished as AAA games get these days). If you don’t like the product the way it is in this demo then you won’t like it in $70-$100 MW2 expansion pack.
The spawns are really bad and noticeable in Estate, you get a triple kill for example near the corner of the map boat docks kill. They will respawn them behind you in the boat hut. Saw it clearly on my UAV. Just spawn like the OG MW2.
It took them to doing another MW3, and i still dont know why they named it that, to just add back MW2 maps that cpuldve just been added to MW 2019 or the fake MW2

Well honestly the nostalgia got the best of me on this one. The 150 health is a dead breaker for me as I always was a hardcore player . I was too very bored with the game after about 2 hours , I just don't think cod will ever be what is was . It's tike to move on .

Btw best solution would simply be larger/brighter name tags on teammates and faint outlines on enemies. Nothing crazy so it’s not insanely cluttered, but just a faint red outline on enemies when looking at them would make it so much easier to distinguish people.

the player base will just camp on all maps regardless of how the game is built so the maps only matter about which room the enemy team will hide in and what perks / equipment will let them stay in that room without dying the longest. The run and gun classes that people make vids are just telling the campers what classes to expect and not really doing anything for the run and gun types. Gun fights are a thing of the past most players want to just let a claymore or a Betty do the work for them and none of the classes that the RUclipsrs or streamers make are ever made with that in mind.
Well so far, I’m a super heavy run and gun type of player no matter what weapon I’m using, sniper, smg, AR, and this year everyone loves to get into gunfights because it’s fun, it’s a breathe of fresh air, the movement feels good so it kinda influences players to move around and be tactical instead of sitting in one spot. The only issue would be regular game modes like TDM where players don’t have an objective so they sit on top of buildings in favela, but other than that objective game modes are a blast.
People have been complaining about campers since WAW, this isn’t anything new.

I have not once encountered a player setting up mines in a room and i played the beta every day. All i'd seen were people crying about ''campers'' every round, even when someone was standing in a corner to simply reload. So im guessing you are like them.

There's also a glitch with the guardian where once you get effected by it, you lose your HUD and can't tell who is the enemy and who is your team (until you die)

The problem with 150 base health is balancing issues. The reason OG Mw2 did so well is that every single weapon was strong and viable, only difference was basically recoil. That is how it should be. Do you want AR's to 4 shot you at medium range, then pick up a P90 and use 12 rounds at medium range?
The differential between strong and weak weapons become much more apparent with higher health pool's. Of course, Sub machine guns should be close quarter guns, AR medium to long, and DMR/Sniper long to very long- but when you look at the maps, there isn't enough mixing between these ranges to justify the damage differentials. This is why you see people use the AK, SCAR, M4A1 most of the time, because they serve you best at any range.

From all of my watches of this game, it plays and sounds so much like vanguard, but with the skin of mw2. The clean realistic engine but with faster and more fun mechanics, I’m excited

I still remember bird man playing multi team on bo2 during the smacking sweaties series and he was using the Lisa Ann gamertag. Hard to believe the last ten years went by so fast.
It's not even that Derail is bad it's just too big. It feels 3 times as big as a normal map. Ton of spawning and running and everything happens in the middle building so a lot of space gets wasted. But curious to see if hard point utilizes that a little bit like the back of Skid Row. Could actually be better than the OG which isn't saying much
That's the point lol you can play slow or rush to the middle. It's up to the player what kind of game they want to play.
I like the point about map utilization. I don't really like hardpoint, as I'm an S&D main, but I did play it in BO2. However, I can admit some of the bigger maps can benefit from more modern game modes. Hardpoint can put an objective in a previously low traffic section of the map and switch it up.

List of What I Deem Necessary Features For a Good Game.
A) remove unnecessary movement (sliding and tac sprint. It makes the game require “more skill” and no one wants to sweat, they just want a fun time.)
B) remove attachments that provide any sort of damage increase. (These make it so higher level players will quickly look for a way to get into lower level lobbies. They also provide an unfair advantage to people who don’t have that attachment.)
C) make certain spawn killing is impossible. Whether it be relocating where they spawn mid game or having spawn protection. (No one likes to die before they even get the chance to move/play.)
D) design new maps (I know impossible right?)
E) add DLCS for maps in zombies and multiplayer. By doing so you will make passive income from two sources. People are buying the game and buying more fun content. (Worked for every cod before bo4 should work even better since the player base should only rise if done right. At any point if a player base starts to die out it's time to come up with a new game idea.)
F) Remove any paid for bundles (Money hungry feature that pushes away most casual players.)
G) make any cosmetic locked behind a difficult or fun challenge to add content. (In doing so players will be encouraged to play the game more than if there was only the same thing as every other game.)
H) add fun little easter eggs around maps. (Self explanatory but it's just a nice little touch for people who get nostalgia highs.)
I) Keep guns/weapons fun NOT realistic
Snipers one shot above waist.
Shotguns one shot at close range but are near useless at range.
ARs depending on mag size have more or less dmg/fire rate and never kill in less than 5 bullets.
SMGs are the same as ARs but deal more damage close range and less at distance, for example they 4 shot close range but 7 shot at distance.
LMGs are the same as ARs but will take additional bullets to kill in general due to the excessive magazine.
Pistol will be identical to SMGs but you move a little faster and can switch quicker.
J) Take the necessary time to get a good base before launching. (People will always wait for a good game, but will quickly discard a poorly launched game.)
Finally, don't ignore feedback like it’s going to kill you to look at other people’s opinions.

I always thought it seemed odd when they released the mw2 remake without mp. Im convinced they made it, decided not to release it so not to split the playerbase that year, and then they held onto it and tweaked it and its now mw3 2023. It plays like an mw2 remake.

I like the movement. footsteps are confusing. Sometimes, i can't tell if it's the enemy or a teammate. The kill sound effects are boring. Mw2 did it better; especially the headshots. The uav duration is too short. Aim assist was only strong at long range. Counter uav's last too long. Visibility is kinda dookie. Blue dots don't show sometimes. Spawns were only bad for me on skid row. I earned xp a little too fast as i got to lvl 20 in barely 5 hours, and the servers are unstable even for a beta...
Me personally, I could never complain about earning too much XP since it shortens the grind but we're all entitled to our own opinions.

5:26 the problem is your teammates Footsteps are just as loud as the enemies where in MW3 beta, as in modern warfare 2 2022 you’ll hear the enemies footsteps much better then your teams footsteps.

Man MW2 is a huuuge slice of nostalgia for me personally. Looking back through all the modern call of dutys the game transformed completely to the point where I no longer play. I saw the lineup of maps and instantly knew this was MW2. I preordered this just to play the beta and popped 50-60 kills most games after not playing for 10+ years. I am looking forward to jumping straight into what i think is going to be the next best call of duty in the modern age.
Solid breakdown, I totally get your point on estate vs skidrow as far as maps go but oddly enough I enjoy estate and dont really like skidrow lol. It's probably just because I'm not great at the game but I feel like I can see easier in Estate and plan my attacks out but then in Skidrow I feel like I'm just staring at grey walls and getting picked off around corners lol. Almost definitely a skill issue but it was cool to see a different opinion.

The thing about the visibility:
The game lacks contrast in its lighting. Everything feels flat gray, whether in shadow or in the sun, and this is especially true for Estate.
I think the spawn thing is a bug because there is quite a number of times where I've lit respawned meters away from mutliple enemies who have just respawned in and sometimes I havent even realised because EVERYONE LOOKS THE FKN SAME!! Surely they gonna fix both these things pretty quick
Back during WW2 i remember the spawns being equally as dog shit and they fixed them pretty quickly. Its a shame the rest of ww2 wasn't fixed quicker because it was a very solid COD 6 months down the line.

It was decent once it got fixed but most people had abandoned the game by that point. Id rate BO3 and BO4 higher and put ww2 on par with MW2019 from the last ten years.

Some tweaks are needed, I think if they adjust the movement A BIT MORE, fix the visibility and a few other things, it'll be a freaking dope game. I've had A TON of fun on my PS5, and am looking forward to the PC beta. Also the devs making this have made it clear they want to listen to feedback and have a reputation for doing it. So if that is the case, I am over all really excited.

With new movement and speed. its not an update its completely different, its pretty oblivious to say this could be an update. When theres a new call of duty theres only ever minor tweaks to the formula. dont fix whats not broken, MW2 was the best selling cod ever, they fixed a few issues but i could see why the core mechanics are the same mostly

I agree with the spawns, I've noticed the exact "revenge spawn" and have gotten many kills from it. But I've also had some moments where I've spawned legit right next to an enemy
They finally gave back the old damage system, where a few bullets kill you, instead of 30 bullets killing you , like in the past 5 years

cod mw2 came out when i was 4 (no im not joking, i played it with my dad im 18 now) and while we they can never live up to those standards that the orig mw2 set. this is the best cod i think we have got in a while and i can just tell off the beta. Just so everyone is clear, this is the finished game (well, as finished as AAA games get these days). If you don’t like the product the way it is in this demo then you won’t like it in $70-$100 MW2 expansion pack.
The spawns are really bad and noticeable in Estate, you get a triple kill for example near the corner of the map boat docks kill. They will respawn them behind you in the boat hut. Saw it clearly on my UAV. Just spawn like the OG MW2.
It took them to doing another MW3, and i still dont know why they named it that, to just add back MW2 maps that cpuldve just been added to MW 2019 or the fake MW2
