I especially enjoy and appreciate that you point out things like tree type, topography, animal species etc. I enjoy learning more about these things. Thanks!
Where to start... This video is so mesmerizing, from start to finish, another winner.🎉 The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. (I wonder if some artists paint, or sketch those beautiful sites, throughout the seasons. 🎨) The info on the frogs 🐸, bark scrapings and holes, lovely wildflowers🌼, and wildlife that frequent the area 🐻 was interesting, and informative, Doug. It's nice😊 that some of the local people are always kind enough, to answer questions about their towns, etc. such as Mrs. Ferguson was.👏 WOW that hailstorm meant business. The ski resort made me think about what it must be like in the Winter.❄️⛷️🏂 It must be quite an adventure. ***In any case, Doug and Kellie, thank you for sharing these gorgeous locations with us. Is it my imagination, or are the blues, bluer 🔵, and the greens, greener 🟢, in such places?
Hi Rhonda! The camera on my Pixel 7 phone is good at catching all the colors well. I do think the colors ARE more INTENSE because of the altitude, but then again it's all subjective. The BIGGEST factor though: it IS all in our minds! Often Sierra skies are so intensely colored it tricks our minds into thinking they are prettier than they really are, even though they probably are (if that makes sense). Perhaps the answer may lie at the molecular level. You see, there are many abandoned mines in the area. Consequently, or most likely, probably...the minute traces of gold dust present in the air may be reflecting, refracting, and bending the light rays of the high altitude sun in ways which enhance the color spectrum of all that can be seen. That's my new theory anyway.
@@CalNeva That's interesting. It might be in our minds because we expect it to be more beautiful, healthier, and less tainted where people are not currently affecting the environment too much... That theory about the influence of the residue, from the mines, is something to consider. WOW, that is amazing.🤔 Thank you so much, Doug. This video was so breathtakingly beautiful. Doug, did you write that opening tune?
@@rhondaz356 Hi Rhonda, I try to take us to the beautiful places and I am so honored that you take the time to respond; especially to my golden theories. I put so many songs together I honestly can't keep track anymore. Today I was cleaning my music room out and there were piles of songs on 8 1/2 x 11 sheets of paper strewn everywhere. It took a while to tidy that creative mess. I was actually trying to clean up to work on some music with John from Reno!
WOW, you are a prolific songwriter. That one you play at the beginning of each video, perfectly captures the tone and mood set throughout, each video. **I think it's very, very lovely. I don't know if it has words, or not, but I think just listening to the pretty tune, and admiring the scenery is the perfect blend, and creates a relaxing mood, right from the start. 🎶 🎵 👏👏 I hope that you and John have a creative, enjoyable session, Doug. ENJOY...🛣 🎸
@@rhondaz356 Thanx Rhonda, but the track you are talking about is not mine. That is why I am working on something original with John at the studio up in Reno, he is talented and has a recording studio with the proper equipment. I am expecting John to add his magic to it, then I won't be using that track, though it is a good one.
Hi Casey! Was just thinking about you. Kellie is the paddle boarder, I'm more of the rower...it's a good workout! Yeah, two more weeks of summer vacation, then fall colors!
@@CalNeva can't wait ya that's my thing on the paddle board to workout and lose some weight just made me happy to see you and Kellie out there what an awesome day
@@caseyhansen4567 Yes the water can be a fun place to workout. Lately I have been getting into goatheads on my mountain bike, so more flats than I want. I try to keep in shape best as I can; gotta keep on moving.
The June Lake Loop area is beautiful! Love seeing it after the record snowfall. That blue 💙 Your talk with Mrs. Ferguson was perfect, kind people over that way 😊 Beautiful hike, as always, Doug. I always enjoy how engaging you are with is on your adventures and hikes!
Surprise Brother! I'm up early today for a change, first priority was your video of course. And coffee ☕. Woke up grumpy, but you and Kellie put me in a good mood! Fun trip, I can only remember taking the June Lake loop one time, I guess I was always in a hurry to get somewhere else more isolated. Loved the froggies 🐸🐸🐸 ! Nice to hear their choir again, no frogs where I am now. It was fun, Brother Doug! 🇺🇸
Good morning Dick! I bet that coffee was delicious! Mornings are great, you should try them more often! I prefer the quieter spots too, but I want to cover some places more accessible for retired, day trippers, weekenders, those needing a break, and families with children. There used to be Leopard frogs there in your river. Working on music today it is cooler in Hawthorne from the thunder showers. You should have a chocolate doughnut with the peanut sprinkles or a Danish or three with your coffee! See you on Mt. Grant.
Been to June Lake many moons ago. My brother was casting his line into the lake. He hooked me on the eye lid. The samon egg liked like blood n my brother was screaming thought he pulled my eye out. A nearby Doctor took the hooked out. Kinda of funny 60 years later.
So glad you are ok Elaine! I'll bet your brother really felt bad about that. Whew, that was a darn scary close one. Hopefully most of your memories were not as exciting, and they were good ones! As my friend WH would say, "Yikes!".
Hi Steve, it's just a stock track I have been using...I need to get up to the recording studio soon with John Boes and do a new theme song (he is a drummer in Sparks, NV) Thanks for stopping by!
I killed myself for a long pumped it up like this. Went on Amazon and found this electrical pump it's an orange roundish one that plugs into your dc socket in your car... can pump up two of them consecutively without stopping.. invest in that a little over a hundred bucks.. you're going to love it, and you'll have more energy paddle boarding
I love that whole area, never get bored up there.
So much to do for sure!
Another good view: having the same weather here @7k'el. What a treat.
Thank you Steven! Enjoy the 7k club!
