Nate: how big is a beluga whale?
Aaron: pretty big.
Nate: wow.
Hello folks and 👋 🐻
I wanted to share a behind-the-scenes story from this week’s episode that I think y’all would enjoy.
At my reptile shows, I usually wear a grey undershirt beneath my Forgotten Friend Reptile Sanctuary uniform. When I did Nate’s birthday surprise on Saturday afternoon, I was actually coming from another reptile show that morning. When I got to his AirBnB, I felt like I should change out of my grey undershirt and put on a Nateland t-shirt. The shirt wasn’t going to be visible under my uniform anyway, but it still felt necessary. As I changed shirts in the driveway by the side of the van, a voice in my head kept going OLIVIA???
Fast forward to the moment I’m about to get in the pool with the guys. At this point we had already filmed the Gila Monster PSA and my mind was fully blown. Everyone is having an amazing time but I’m having THE MOST FUN out of anyone. I’m taking my shoes and socks off and planning to jump in with just uniform pants and a t-shirt, not really thinking about what t-shirt I have on.
As I pull off my uniform shirt, Nate’s huge eyes get even bigger as he notices something…
He gets a big smile across his face and says “you gotta Nateland shirt!” It’s the custom Mt Rushmore shirt that Kerr Smith designed for me last year. It’s a design Kerr wouldn’t let me pay him for because he loves Nateland so much.
When I had put the shirt on an hour earlier, I didn’t think anyone would even know I was wearing it. And now it’s bringing a huge smile to Nate’s face. Thanks again to Kerr, a Nateland friend I’ve never met in real life, for creating it!!
So maybe an hour later we are all having the time of our life. I mean we are just having a ball. Just so much fun hanging out and loving animals. Out of nowhere Nate says to me “say hi to Laura” and he shows me his phone and they’re FaceTiming. I say hello and he says “she’s wearing her Hello Folks shirt” and sure enough she is wearing that cool colorful shirt that Jacy Lee Pulford designed! Jacy is another one of my awesome Nateland friends who I still haven’t met in real life
I couldn’t help but feel like Nate and his family are just as big of Nateland fans as we are. That Nate gets so much joy in all the custom stuff folks create for them. That every time he says “none of this is lost on me” he means it with all his heart. They are just THE BEST. When Nate talks about the reptile experience in today’s episode you’ll see he’s almost struggling for words to describe how fun it was. And that’s the Nateland experience in a nutshell. Its just too much fun to describe, until you experience it. And I’m glad all of us are part of the experience!!
That is absolutely fantastic! Thanks for sharing. Everyone in the Nateland world seems top-notch.
I have a phobia of snakes but the way you described this afternoon at the Airbnb, the people & the joy, I wouldn't hesitate to jump in a pool, wearing a nateland shirt, alongside a snake, right beside you. Amazing story. ❤
@@beccaa5086 yea in smaller groups like this we can do some really fun opportunities. And with this group of guys everything would have been fun 😁
Thanks for sharing that great story 🎉
@@flatcat_Jessica it was unreal 😊
We have done thousands of reptile shows since 2004, and hanging out with the Bargatze crew was THE BEST. Y’all are so kind and fun to hang out with. Thanks for giving reptiles a chance!!
Please film Brian and you guys practicing his pitching.
Yes!

Dusty, I discovered you through this podcast.
Through listening to your own podcast, I’ve returned to the Bible and I’m working towards sobriety.
I was dissolute. Thank you so much x
U can do it!
Very cool to hear, you can do this!
That’s amazing. You can do it 💪💪
Alright! 👋
Very cool! 🙌
Can we please get the guy who wrote the graduation scene to animate the Colosseum, animal fight? I would pay to watch that movie and have y’all commentating.
Thank you Nate for bringing the four of you guys together and thanks to all of you for sticking together for this podcast, you breathe laughter into our Wednesdays, can’t thank you enough!
Congrats to Brittlebone Bates for throwing out the first pitch at the Sounds 4th of July game!
“Let’s get some hot kids in here so Dusty will watch” Bates 💀 I died
Brian: "I'm a natural athlete." Aaron: "You are a deceptively good athlete." HAHAHA
I love that Nate has now seemed to find a whole book series he's excited about and can read for his nightly reading, and it's a kids picture animal fight book 😂
Nate: 'how tall is 75 inches?'
Aaron: '75 divided by 12'
Bates: '5 feet'
math is not the strong suit of this group lol
I was thinking the same thing
@@to6etherwego me too :)
Haha me too.
[Nateland production notes for episode #148] "On this episode, you guys need to wear something that matches." ... Aaron - wears blue shirt and matching blue hat... Dusty - wears purple shirt and purple hat.... Bucksnort - calls Nate the night before to coordinate matching pullovers... #LoveTheShow #HeyBear
"75 divided by 12....5 feet " had me dying! Reminds me of Nates joke where his class in Community College was just called "Math"
It took longer to get through the first round of the animal fights bracket than it takes for the first two rounds of March Madness. Way to stay on brand, gentlemen.
I love how Breakfast gave his guess to the amount of calories in the 5 lb bar of chocolate as if he was a contestant on the Price is Right.
Hello Folks and Hey Bear
My husband, son, and I attended your 4:00 show in Richmond, Virginia yesterday, and I just want to thank you for the clean, wholesome enjoyable afternoon for our family. We also enjoyed getting to see your Dad’s performance too. I had no idea your dad was so funny! The gumball trick was fantastic! I hope you enjoyed your trip to Richmond.
My wife and I saw Nate tonight in Greenville, South Carolina. We were so excited to see Nate because he is our favorite comedian, but little did we know that Nate’s dad was going to be the star of the show. His magic set was engaging and hysterical. I know where Nate gets it from!
In all seriousness, Nate’s new hour was so well written and relatable. We are going to try to see Aaron, Dusty, and Butter Boy next time they are down in South Carolina. Thanks for bringing so much laughter to our lives. We love ya’ll!
I’ve been binge watching for months and finally caught up just in time for my birthday today!
As a gift I got tickets to go see Aaron in Boston, I saw Brian in Raleigh NC when I was traveling for business (I met him outside of the club before the show, I think he was also the valet)
Looking forward to seeing the rest of the BAND. Thank you for all the laughs - you all are the BEST!
It’s my birthday too 🙂
@@Amea-111 Happy Birthday 🎂🎉🎁
There should be a mini tournament of tag teams formed by Nate, Bisquick, Mr. Like the Grill, & Dusty each drafting an animal that lost during the first round.
Buttermilk Bates is killing it this episode! I enjoy it, but man…I’m about ready for the animal fights to be done. It’s dragging on a bit, too much of a good thing, you know? It’s wearing out it’s welcome. We should have an episode on toasters after this saga just to get back to it
What I love about this podcast is that a few weeks ago it was title 'Animal Attacks' and they discussed one fight, so naturally in the catching up and comments they would finish the first round...
The fact that no one mentioned the elephant’s deadly tusks in a fight is precisely why I love this podcast. One swing with those things and the rhino goes flying! Lol. Glad we still got there in the end though.
When Breaking Ball said Coinstar had been a big part of his life, I was waiting for a new sponsor ad read. The segues are getting better and better. Keep up the good work!
Guys, Brian is the glue that holds this podcast together. Plus he’s getting funnier and funnier. That comment that the tadpoles probably would’ve lived had dusty not captured them made me LOL.
(Lo-zah-no) Just in case Nate needs some help pronouncing my name! First time commenting: After months of hearing my husband listen to the podcast, I started listening and just love it. I often talk back to you guys like I’m there! We’re a homeschooling family so whenever we listen in the car, I count it towards school hours. Nateland is a lot like my homeschool: We sit around a table, goofing off and learning a little too! This was further confirmed when my 9 year old daughter woke up, came downstairs, and the first thing she said to me was “Hey Bear!”Thanks for adding to my curriculum!
I'm cracking up - beginning of the Scorpion/Tarantula fight: Nate starts out talking like it won't be an exciting fight, then ends with "We'll be selling merch for this fight" LOL
I have been listening for a few months, but this is the first time I have actually seen the visual aspect of the podcast. Besides Nate, I hadn't ever seen your faces, so I had to imagine what you guys looked like based on your voices. I felt pretty good about my imaginary guesses until I saw Dusty... I couldn't have been more wrong really. Love the podcast by the way, I drive for work and these shows make my day more fun. Thanks guys!
You guys talking about the air bnb rules made me think of the best hotel sign I’ve ever seen. While in South Africa our hotel had a sign about keeping the doors and windows closed so that monkeys wouldn’t get in.
Bates was on fire with the subtle jabs! Under appreciated for sure!
You made a good point about “fun movies” not being made anymore. I can envision Nateland Presents expanding the mission of bring family friendly, wholesome entertainment from comedy into movies, too.
Brian, good luck on the mound at the sounds game. I've been on that mound for a first pitch as well. A local Christian radio station whose mascot is a fish hired me for a Murfreesboro parade years back. Being from a small town in Arkansas I assumed the parade was less than a mile long. I gave it my all from the very start, jumping up and down, waving at kids, dancing, high-fiving the public, all while wearing boots and jeans underneath this hot and very old fish costume. The parade went for miles. Sweat was burning my eyes closed, I wasn't hydrated at all, I couldn't get air in my lungs- It's the closest I've ever come to blacking out. I pushed through. Some time later the radio station called me back as the fish again for a sounds game. Audio adrenaline was playing there and I got to run around the concert getting the crowd hyped as well as be on the mound while the first pitch was thrown. This time I drank water, gatorades, wore shorts/t-shirt, tennis shoes, and a sweatband. I was on my game. Standing on that mound, hydrated and alive, is where I felt like I became a legit mascot. That was my last time dressing up as one, however in years since, I've coincidentally been asked if I ever listen to 94 fm the fish. I tell them- I am the fish.
p.s. It took my brain a good minute and a couple weird mom looks to reset and stop automatically waving at kids with mascot excitment after taking the costume off...Doesn't translate.
I'm sure you guys are tired of the animal matchups but WE LOVE THEM. It's the most drunk debate without being drunk. Can the next one PLEASE be comedians fighting eachother?
The guys complain of people using cm, inches, meters, and inches BUT have used on multiple occasions the ENTIRE state of Rhode Island as a unit of measurement! Keep. It. Up.
Hello folks - Hey Bear! My wife and I were at the Hershey show on Friday night. Absolutely awesome show from beginning to end. Joe and Julian were great and we were so lucky to get to see your dad, too! That dude is something else, for sure - super, super funny and talented. Nate, your show was excellent as well. We're late to the Nateland party, but so glad we came across your special and then find out about your show. Thank you for doing what you do and how you do it - we really appreciate your style with keeping it clean and relatable. Appreciate that so much... so much.
I was half expecting you to comment about how people at Chocolate World get so enthralled by everything there... 5 lb. chocolate bar aside, most of that stuff is readily available at just about every grocery store in modern civilization and every time we go, we're amazed at how people freak out... OMG they have Kit Kat bars!!! Blows my mind, but hey... at least they're having a good time.
Thanks again - looking forward to catching another show in the future. Keep up the awesome work, guys!
One of your best shows yet! Keep ‘em coming!
Dusty, I whole heartedly agree with not trusting frogs. In a world full of uncertainty. It’s hard know what you can trust. However, the one thing I can say for certain is, “If you come out of an egg, you are not on my team.” 17:06
This episode gave me some of the best sleep I’ve had in a while.
I’m just catching up on these podcasts and just love being here! I even ordered (and am wearing) my Nateland sweatshirt!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love that you are giving PA props. I lived in both TN and PA and loved them both!
Hey Bear, I just wanted to say how much we enjoyed the show in Greenville this weekend. Me, my wife, my sister and brother in law came up from north Ga to see the show. Joe and Dustin were great. Nate’s dad was hilarious, hard man to follow. I have no idea how he did the trick with the gum ball machine.
Nate’s hour may be his best yet, which is tough to say, I’ve loved them all. This one had me crying the entire time.
You guys are awesome, I love the podcast. Ive listened to every episode. The addition of Dusty has been perfect. I hope none of you leave. May the Lord keep blessing your work for making others laugh and feel good.
Glad to have y’all back started off hating animal fights but y’all are so funny I’m all about it
Last time that I checked you had 12,000 subscribers, wow! Congrats.
For the record, reptiles include snakes, lizards, turtles, and crocodilians. Amphibians include frogs, toads, and salamanders. Reptiles are generally dry and scaly, while amphibians tend to be wet and slimy. Reptiles and amphibians are both cold-blooded, but are separate families. However, herpetology is the study of reptiles AND amphibians, so they are often grouped together even though they are two different families. Nature is full of exceptions but those are the main categories. Many science nerds argue that BIRDS are closer to reptiles than amphibians, because scale structure and feather structure are nearly identical. Plus reptile eggs are more like bird eggs than amphibian eggs. But unlike reptiles and amphibians, birds are warm blooded. Also about half of snakes and lizards have live birth, more like mammals, instead of eggs like birds.
Nature is the worst. It’s full of predictable patterns and tons of surprises. Nature is the best.
And my personal favorite Caecilians: the seldom seen amphibian snake counterpart ;)
@@charlesgoon4712 I was hoping someone would mention caecilians and tuataras 👍🏻
Nate: How tall is 75 inches?
Aaron: Well you have to divide 75 by 12.
Breakfast: 5 😂
My family and I always called it a ‘clicker’ or ‘changer’. It feels like I’m trying to be all uppity if I call it a remote. It made me so happy to hear Nate call it a clicker.
Growing up we had this nice sound system box on our tv cabinet that played cds and radio plus the surround sound. The power button got busted and we couldn’t use it anymore. Finally after maybe a year my parents went to BestBuy to buy a new one and while talking with the salesman told him the power button on the current unit was broke. He looks at them and says ‘couldn’t you just use the remote?’ My parents looked at eachother flabbergasted! None of us had ever thought of that 😂😂
Print up the merch now-Nateland Colosseum: It’s A Loose Frisk! Great episode, thanks for them all.
When Aaron said “It advanced. It just can’t use a gun the next round,” it reminded me when I arrived four hours late to a middle school slumber party.
Dusty old life and his new life collide with this ad read by Sunday. 😅
Before bed a few nights ago, my wife and I watched one of Nate's specials. That night, I dreamed I was a stand up comic. When I woke up, I thought, "Wow. Some of those jokes were actually pretty funny!" I thought maybe there was a joke writer locked away in my subconscious. But, by the end of day, the euphoria of sleepiness had worn off and I was like..."No. Those weren't funny."
Plus, I want to hear Nate try to read "euphoria" on the air.
My last name is Hershey and I grew up 20 minutes from Hershey PA. (Unfortunately no relation) I was at Nate’s Saturday show, and genuinely thought the reptile story he shared was a bit. There’s so much to do in Hershey and “swimming with reptiles” is the most random thing I’ve ever heard! Great show on Saturday and I’m a huge fan of the pod. Love you guys!
I love golf but don't have anyone to golf with so I usually just put in my ear buds and listen to the Nateland podcast while I play. It's like having all the guys in my golf cart. I recently shot one of the worst rounds ever. Wanna know what the hardest shot in golf is? It's a seven footer on 18 to shoot 100. Newsflash... I did not make it. Thanks for the company and the laughs guys.
I just discovered this podcast a week ago and have started with episode #1 and have made it to # 12 l9ve the Bryce jokes. I think there could easily be another completely different podcast made from this of just stuff Nate didn't say! Love it guys.
Mr. Balding was a great slip up and also an excellent nickname for Bean Bag Bates
Breakfast's best episode. He was on Fire today!
Those who are old enough to remember the 70s will remember cars with vinyl roofs. While driving through Six Flags Great Aventure Safari in NJ, the baboons would frequently jump on cars, press up against the windows, and destroy the vinyl rooftops and antennas. When I visited with my family as a child, we passed a car of people who were completely unaware that a group of baboons were sitting on top of their car until we honked and pointed at them while passing by! Despite the posted signs discouraging visitors from rolling down windows and driving vinyl topped vehicles in the park, many people just ignored them. Either that, or the baboons managed to destroy the signs too. -SGS
Congratulations!! 🥳🥳🥳
Nice job on the Titans schedule release video boys!!!
The next animal fight bracket should include ants vs dusty after several bottles of water. 🤣🤣
In my lifetime I’ve only seen this one time I don’t understand why more people don’t do it except for the cost, but Dusty wanting the nice side on his side of the fence all he has to do is have a nice line on the outside for security reasons and then put vertical boards on his side as well. Voila, Everybody is happy.
Nate’s new special got a shout out on one of my other favorite podcasts: stuff you should know!
Do a bracket for restaurants/fast food. I’m sure that would be hilarious 😂
Did ya'll search the locker room?! The emu may have snuck in more weapons when he got the gun in!
Who wins a fight between an elephant and a rhino? Elephino #missedoppertunity
Congratulation “Brining the Heat Bates” make sure you reach home base with the first pitch! You folks should do a Instagram short of all of you throwing a pitch! Love the Pod! Heyyyy Bear!
The Nashville Zoo has a cassowary…I think we need the 4 of you to go check it out in person and teach us more about that insane bird.
Toadsuck festival is so fun! I can't believe I missed Dusty in Conway, it's so close to me😭
Saw you in Norfolk, and it was a great show! My husband bought a bubble gum machine, I blame your dad..
Watching here idol always support your channel and video
After 25 minutes of alligator/amphibian conversation, Brian wins the podcast with his comment about Aaron’s emergency outfit.
😂😂😂😂
Fun prank: if you're with your friends and you see an unoccupied mail truck, lift it up and turn it so the nose is facing directly into the curb
Thanks for letting me spend my birthday with you today, folks! 42, the meaning of life as you may know.
I cried laughing at the rhino cotton candy! I mean.. good night!
Thanks for the Hershey love!! The show was fantastic!! Who would have thought Dusty would be the one to know how to pronounce Lancaster correctly. With his disdain for modern “technology” and affinity for the Bible, he’d fit right in with the local Amish up here.
Hey brian hows it goin? This animal bracket has been pretty wild its fun to hear what yall come up with. Its also funny when someone knows so much and says how do u not kno this but alot of ppl dont kno how local news works. Hear from ya next week big dawg
Man, I wish I knew y’all were in Conway!
I’m 46 and attend Utah State University. One more semester until I graduate with a bachelor degree in Landscape Architecture. (Stating my sources…) Anyway, one of my classmates spent the semester with EarPods in and would randomly just start laughing. At the end of the semester I finally asked what he was listening to and that’s how I became a Nateland fan. I’m only on episode #17 so I feel like I’m Brendan Fraser in Blast from the past coming out of his bunker after 30 yrs out of touch with what’s happening. Like, you’re on #148! Is Buckwheat still being called by other names? Is Aaron still the smarter one? Can Nate pronounce words any better after several years? The best part of being so far behind is that I can work with my earbuds in and listen to the crazy, funny non-sense civilian nation all day long!! Thanks for being clean (how you talk at least) and family friendly. You guys are way entertaining.
Nate actually killed it with the logic on measuring. He asked how long is 75 inches and literally nobody answered right
I can’t believe Nate didn’t know where he heard of Mackinaw. It was the Mackinaw peaches episode of Seinfeld.
“Well they’re in! The Mackinaw peaches!”
Nate, when he’s putting the money under $20 in a “change thing” it’s like a savings piggy bank, not “throwing it away”. 😂😂😂❤
Family Ties was set in columbus Ohio! my home town.
I always enjoy theme parks, I didn't realize Hershey park was so big. Would love to know if any of the guys have been to silver dollar city in Branson Missouri and what they thought of it.
During the Vuori read Nate mentioned losing a jacket. If I recall correctly, Aaron also lost a jacket back at the drive-in movie. As someone who regularly cannot find their keys and phone, I am baffled at two grown men losing whole pieces of clothing. Dusty on the other hand looks like he has found multiple jackets and I would imagine most of Brentford’s jackets are pelts. Hopefully summer time means no jackets to be lost. ✌🏽
I think Dusty’s “BAH-BOON” is the new “YEE YEE!”
Also, fun fact! I’m from Phoenix AZ and a common fear is being stung by a baby scorpion because they can’t control the amount of venom they inject. An adult scorpion, similar in this hypothetical colosseum fight, would be an adult who can control the amount of venom it injects, making it a strong competitor to the tarantula.
Let’s staaayyyy!!!
Nate: “Let’s do some of these animal matchups. We’re kind of kind of dragging this out.”
The BAND: Spends 10 minutes debating elephant vs rhino.
Dang! I had no idea Dusty was in Conway at Toad Suck. What the heck! I went to high school there and live an hour from there. Never been bummed about missing Toad Suck until just now. But I did see MC Hammer there in 2014 so not completely devastated.
Hello Folks!!
I started listening from episode 1 a few weeks ago, and am going in order to catch up. Really enjoying the show, but I'm obviously way behind. After about 10 episodes I kept thinking that Brinkshomesecurity's voice sounded really familiar, but it wasn't until he told his bombing story that I remembered his face from the drybar special he did. Really enjoy the show.
PS sorry if you're not doing the name thing anymore, or the comment reading anymore, or if someone has already used Brinkshomesecurity, but give me a break I'm 130 episodes behind. 🤷♂️
For an episode labeled comments and catching up, not a whole lot of comments or catching up. Very Nateland of you guys to do that. Love the podcast. Dusty should totally do his own podcast too
He already does!
@@destyneetrevino9744 I wish. Be great if he did though
I love comedy and have been a huge fan of Nate since full-time magic. I’ve been writing comedy about a year now and really want to try an open mic. How did you know you ready for your first open mic and what should I expect? Thank you all!
My brother actually graduated from UTC with Dennis Haskins “Mr. Belding” in December 2015. Dennis never finished his degree in the 70s so in 2015 they gave him an honorary degree and he walked the stage!
I had a friend go on a safari in Africa years ago and I actually asked about the Rhino vs Elephant thing. I was thinking like Nate that the horn would win. And her response was "Yeah, but then the Elephant would fall on it and kill it. The size difference is crazy."
At the end of the episode, I had the strongest urge to pour myself a glass of whiskey. i don't even drink that often. huh
Hello Folks!! Nate mispronounces Mackinac, but of course he's heard Mackinaw before!! Broadcast Bates missed an opportunity to mention the "Mack-In-Aww Peaches" episode of Seinfeld, which is probably where he heard it. On that note, why is the Peach spelled Mackinaw even though its from Mackinac... Make up your mind Michigan!
Anyways, thanks for the laughs every week and for keeping it clean. I never miss an episode!
I am dying!!! I’m in lancaster pa & even hearing the mention is enough to squeel!!! And dusty was correct the way he said it!! ❤ 😂
I agree with Nate, height in inches just frustrates me.
I appreciate the good clean hunor of this podcast. Seeing Nate friday night in Jacksonville was a big check on the list of things my wife and i want to experience. I was able to give Nate a hat from the ship im stationed on and then very quickly found out i was in an area where i was supposed to have a wristband, so i got out of there quick. Also almost had a Dusty moment as we were entering the building. I subconsciously left my pocket knife at home but immediately started thinking where i could hide it to claim on my way back out.
I see a new line of t-shirts with all of these animal visuals. I for one would definitely purchase a shirt with an emu holding a gun and a rhino with cotton candy and and/or a corn dog on its horn!
Watched 3 Elephant v Rhino videos. Mostly standoffs but in every video the Elephant was just pushing the Rhino around fairly easily. The size of the Elephant was said to be like being hit by 2 SUVs. 👀
WHATABURGER! Best fast food, hands down. One of the big things I miss from Texas. They need to hurry up and expand up here to PA (I'm doubtful, unfortunately). Every time I go home, Whataburger is a required first stop after landing. Keeping it local, gotta give it to Hardee's for burgers.
