After all the trouble, we finally got to embrace Varkala which is an extraordinary little beach town in India.

Our overall plan in India is to travel via rickshaw/tuk tuk from the South to North (if it's possible?) The next leg of our journey is to travel all the way through Kerala, and then a bit more of Tamil Nadu before reach Karnataka

We have only just arrived in India, after a crazy time back home doing van life and living full time in our camper van conversion for two years in the UK. But after some serious engine problems that cost us a fortune, we came to India on a mission to honour Liam's Grandad's legacy who sadly died earlier this year. With the inheritance money Liam got from that, we bought the tuk tuk and named it after Liam's Grandad.

The paperwork just for stopping one night in a guest house is like writing the phone book, and 25 years ago when we only had travellers cheques was a days mission. But it's all part of the story.
Goa is Western prices be warned. If you go to Subway you pay Western prices. Book in at The Briganza Hotel in Goa , thats reasonable for Goa. Or see Nadim the Taxi driver , his brother has Beach Chalets , but they are usually booked up in Season.
@@xvsupremacy7190 absolutely, goa is a Portuguese colony and its like a completely different country to the rest of India. I'm much happier in the smaller villages of India especially the north.

A winning episode, as always! It actually brought tears to my eyes seeing that jatayu’s monument was dedicated to the safety and honor of women. That made me go and read more about the statue, and it turns out that the chap that abducted Sita gave her one year to decide if she would take him as her husband, and if not he would chop her up and eat her for breakfast 😳😳😳 Spoilt for choice that gal was. What a nightmare with the accommodation, so glad it all worked out well! I'd have been in heaven in thst cute little spot with the vegan restaurant nearby. Reminded me of Byron Bay. So glad you got to experience sound healing, it's my favourite sort of relaxation. Lots do it here in the UK as well when you get back. The eagle was incredible. Hope the next bit of your journey is more drama free.

Well that was an experience of good coming from bad for sure! To meet up with Kerry again was a great bonus and having such an amazing place to stay after all the hassle... great. Happy you saw the eagle statue too. Appreciate the imfo you give us about the places you see (and the work you put into producing such fine videos with great accompanying music. Cath tried sound therapy but not in India which she believes would be more fulfilling as it wasnt the best experience. Happy travelling Happy days! 🙏✌️

It had happened to me too before when I had booked online. So now I always make sure to check the reviews to see of anyone else got their booking cancelled or rejected. Also in Agoda do not book hotels with ratings below 3.7 or 3.5

The nicest and best value places I stayed were often recommendations made by rickshaw drivers. It's possible they made a small commission, but even if they did it was never noticeable. There's lots of places in India and indeed the world that still don't rely on Internet bookings, presumably if they're offering good accommodation at a good price they don't have to.

please if you are reading it please change your plans and try going down south first. delhi tests the patience of even indians
but if your plans cannot be changed please dont stay in paharganj or connaught place these places are know for foreign tourists being target of scams so you can stay in south delhi . i just want you to have a great experience in india

I was surprised that you didn't take at least one surfing lesson, anyways, as usual it's a great video of your experiences there in India. About that giant eagle, I'll bet that the story of the bird has some truth to it, after all, there were giant animals upon the Earth at one point so I have no doubt that a giant injured eagle landed there on the cliffside at some time in history.
I was sad in hearing about the troubles you experienced on this particular stretch of the journey but always impressed at how well you weather these things. Much Love to You Both.
