Another key to Star's success is letting teams like Pro Circuit and Orange Brigade raise up the best amateur talent and then stealing them away right before they go pro😂
Orange Brigade and Team Green build awesome Amateur racers because they have the bikes to do so. STAR and Yamaha builds Pros and will cut them loose to other teams too. PC, YOT, Geico Honda has all done this.
I agree with you to a point, BUT if those other teams really want to keep their riders, then they need to make a equivalent offer to what STAR is offering. Case in point Cole Davies. Daniel Blair even said STAR made Cole an offer that the KTM group just couldn't match. In the end that benefits the rider, so where's the harm? It's a very competitive market so the other OEM's will have to step up.
This was an unfortunate and common story in the late 90'S. I was talking to the owner of Mach 1 earlier this year (shop sponsor of Ezra Lusk at that time) and it could have been the new sliced bread, similar to what we see today with Star. But poor business practice and acumen (I"m guessing) ran its usual coarse. Few companies ran the test of time. If it weren"t for long standing companies like MSR; Metal Mulisha would probably suffered the same fate.
Nobody has ever done what star is doing . Aldon baker over here like ummm excuse me? 😂 How they suddenly forget who started the whole ride together boot camp thing is nice
You can’t count the 450 team. Bobby doesn’t own the 450 program like he owns the 250 team. 450 team is funded by Factory Yamaha and they contract with Bobby at Star Racing to run the program. So Bobby is only footing the bill for the 250 program. Yamaha foots the bill for the 450 team.
Look at Aldon Baker what he brought to the sport, ok still missing stuff but training Villopoto and he moan about how much training he had too at the Baker Factory but not the winning and the money. Ricky started this all the hunger and a mum that steered him and what to eat for repair of the body and Ricky was a machine, when I raced deep sand the damage to my legs of standing for 2x30 minutes and the micro tears and this rubbish about protein powders etc just he good food and rest and sleep. They all moaned about the MC days but times have changed and as you get older eating correctly is even more important. 10 years of a pro career is short and they don't have a cage around them and then buy fast cars going out and then having to go and win that weekend you have to be hungry to win. Look at Stefan Everts had legs but big calves that would let the suspension work. That takes effort.
Doesn’t the 450 guys salary get paid by corporate Yamaha? I thought that’s how it works. The only 250 that probably would be on the list would be part of Deegan’s contract. I will agree as a team you need to provide the trainers and facilities for such. Exactly how a a professional sports program works. Proof is in the results. I actually said this crap years ago that’s the system the sport needs.

Building a bike and building a Riders pretty much the same thing.

The 450 side of star is paid by Yamaha USA not star.
Yes. But the NFL player gets paid more. If riders got paid what NFL players made they'd probably be more keen to investing 250k on diet.
These kids and their families are PAYING to be on Star, not the other way around. there's no other explanation.
No they’re not
😂 yeah your just dreaming
lol you’re mistaking Star for EBR.. no one is paying to be on Star.
Very small salary
Smoke another one buddy look up the team owner 😂😂😂
Ktm steals the top riders so......name one rider ktm brought up from amateur and raced a 450 for them
What is it with the use of bro. Im not your bro stop saying that.
