This album’s older than me and yet I still feel nostalgia for it
It’s so amazing and so are the other albums
I've always considered this to a perfect record. Zero filler. Every song is just freaking solid. Even the hidden bonus track is awesome.
This album was their high water mark in my opinion. The band branched away from the "grunge" sound and Scott never sounded better or healthier! This was the album that showed the world what STP were capable of!!
"The second albummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......"
@@maximummatt73 Twelve gracious melodies.
This was my favorite Christmas gift. It’s so beautiful. I hope STP finally releases the coffee table book and film from the Shangri La era.
That would be awesome. I hope they do release it.
Such a great album. I still have my cassette tape from when it first came out.
An iconic album.
nice review, and purple deserve a higher place in the 90's
This is my bread n butter STP, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Pearl Jam I cut my teeth on that stuff
STP first 3 albums are all classics
No.4 is great too, very underrated.
@@Jbones72 even more underrated is Shangrila-De-Da, I've always loved that album
Jonah Louque Agree Hello It’s Late & Bi-polar Bear are 2 of my favorite STP songs. It seems that after Purple every critic killed every album they put out, actually they killed Purple too if memory serves. Thankfully fans and people with good musical taste ignore critics.
Huge STP fan and I still have not rebought this album. Still my favorite of theirs.
One of the best albums of the 90's
Yes!! I LOVE this album! Truly one of the best albums from the 90s
If you name your album Purple, you better book a day at Paisley Park!
This looks so good, you lucky lucky lad. I bet it sounds even better. 😍
Wow! This looks very nice! Great video as always! :)
Pretty cool....your almost at 100k subscribers. Well done my friend. Cool album. Lots of thought went into it and that my friend is what collectors love.
Wow! I need this... 😍
Well done, looking forward to your listening review!!!
I have a original. It's translucent purple color. Probably not the best mastering back then. I would probably want to get a new mastering, my old copy is scratchy. However my preference is to get the non deluxe version. That's just me.
The live show is great, maybe we'll get a separate vinyl release for a future RSD.
Just subscribed to your channel...consistently producing quality presentations. Very "out of the box" stuff (couldn't resist). Keep up the great work...how about some classic 80's?? Journey perhaps?
I just got it... it's named Purple... they recorded at Prince's studio... perfect
Went "wight out" to a record store in Oslo (Big Dipper) and bought this soon after seeing your video (Also bought a tower of power album, and last week I went out and got Core AND a tower of power album. Have I started my own new trend?) It is a gorgeous album and recreation and I love how it mirrors the Core deluxe edition. Can't wait for Tiny Music!
To ya in the gasoline we are sometimes It blows my ming
Bril vid! Could u review some queen albums
The only record by them I've listened and love it to tgis day is their first one. Never got too exicted about the rest of their discography!
@Michael H. in my opinion, it truly was a transitional period for STP
Always be carful using a razor to cut open you packaging and don’t slice across the cover of you album
Yes, very bad habit - rather cutting my finger than into the package LOL
I never understood why the album is named Purple as nowhere on the album sleeve the word Purple is mentioned.
How does it sound?
That iconic cover came from the art on a bag of heroin Scott was given. Directly taken from it, too.
No DVD? Man, for a 25 anniversary super deluxe reissue, this isn’t up to par.
Didn't know this was an unboxing channel??
It is not. It's just part of the review of the records.
@@MetroPolo1 Joke went over your head I see.....whoosh!!!
Those white square mailers are garbage. I don't know why any label/website is still using them to ship anything.
I can't tell you how many times I've received a record in these mailers with all banged up corners. No protection at all and the people or companies who use them are idiots.
You know, you kinda look like Scott Weiland
