Gathering of the Qurio is the most dreadful quest the developers ever made. Especially considering the events leading up to this after Malzeno's defeat.
Congrats on beating Gaismagorm and getting two rare drops! It's such a cool fight and your reactions did not disappoint. From what I've heard from others regarding the fight, the Gaismagorm fight is actually biblically inspired. Gaismagorm is the devil of MH. He has goat horns, his mouth opens into a pentagram, his species evolutionarily lost the ability to fly (like a fallen angel), he resides in an abyss sending his minions to do his bidding and biding his time, he uses fire, when he does his big laser he gains wings of flame. Fiorayne leaping up and striking him down when proof of a hero starts is a reference to the archangel Michael (who is often depicted with a sword and shield) striking the devil down back into hell. Which also plays into Malzeno being a reference to Dracula. A fallen knight that gained power from the devil and drinks blood. Overall, Rise and Sunbreak have really, really cool theming. Base Rise being inspired by Japanese folklore and mythology (Narwa and Ibushi being based on the gods Fuujin and Raijin, and many of the monsters being based on Japanese Yokai), and then Sunbreak being based on Western horror stories and the bible. Garangolm being Frankenstein, Lunagaron being a Werewolf and Malzeno being Dracula, with the big bad being the devil himself. Honestly think they knocked it out of the park with the themes, atmosphere and epic scale of this game and it's really been a treat to see your experiences. Sorry for the long comment, and looking forward to seeing more!
so the reason hunters dont capture the qurios nor hunted the gaismagorm despite knowing it existed prior to it reaching the surface is because a single qurios isnt a threat and Gaismagorm was a myth until the newfound hard evidence. A harmless monster isnt classified as huntable by the guild thus hunting a harmless monster would be classified as poaching, endemic life arent monsters. Gaismagorm being an elder dragon is also listed as a Natural Disaster monster as it affects the environment majorly aka consuming all the natural life from the endemic bugs, spiribirds to the larger monsters thus destroying an environment as we saw in the qurios Lunagaron quest, thats why it had to be hunted immediately. So the moment the hunters realized that Gaismagorm was a Natural Disaster it was no longer classified as a "harmless monster from an old myth" and became an emergency hunt to ensure the safety of the public, preventing any possible casualties, and to protect the surrounding the environment from ecological damage. I recommend reading the "Hunting Restrictions" wiki page on the Monster Hunter wiki for more info.
Giasmagorm for me went from a great monster to my most ironic favorites in the series. Why? The buildup to his fight caused me so much excitement that my brain interpreted it as so much anxiety that I fainted irl. I only knew time had passed because when I came to I looked at the quest information and saw that I had 1/3 faints. His fight and music already made him such a good monster, but now I had something to laugh about. Even if that incident did start me getting mini-seizures that I needed medication for.
Gaismagorm controls the Qurio, and feeds off of the life they absorb from the monsters. Once he started to be more active, The Kingdom decided to build that ship you see in the cutscenes (the one with the 3 dragonators), just in case Gaismagorm tried to get out of the pit (which he did), and so it was the hunters job to make sure that he never got out again, by killing him.
Gaismagorm as a fight was quite a thrilling experience but I was also disappointed as it reminded me of Zora in terms of it could've been such a bigger spectacle. Still fun though.
I thing in terms of set up and epicness gaisma fight is probably the best of the entire gen 5, like dont get me wrong alatreon, fatalis and primordial malzeno are HYPER awesome and primordial is my favorite elder of all g5 for me, but the gatering of the qurio, the fact that theres no wild life, all monsters are death, the fight with no music and in switch you can almost hear the music, but is trapped, corrupted in some way, like this is not a normal hunt, the hunter is being disturbed or the monster itself for whats going on, this is SET UP to gaisma boss fight, also having npcs having more role in the fight, is a pretty darn cool boss fight
Hey tree,I'm a big fan but I didn't comment a lot but I wanna tell you that the first time I fight with Gaismagorm I fail but the second time I beat it and holy,I got 1 abyssal dragonspire from and another 2 in the reward one 2!!! I use 1 on the armor, the 2nd use one charge blade and a long sword(please don't judge me but ls is my main)☻.

That quest is one of the best story implementations they have ever done and I am so excited for the possibility they can do it again in wilds

Oh damn bro that’s intense
I hope you're ok
The Mantles continue to drop like Quirio.
Gaismagorm is probably my favorite story boss of monster hunter history. Exceeding Ahtal ka
Good work everyone for nobody telling him about the hunt with Khezu's remix theme
Giasmagorm didnt do anything
man was just chilling in a pit
its the qurios fault
He got out of the pit.
" _I_ didn't kill all those people it was my dogs"

New Tree video! Put our Gaismagooning on pause!
He is cooked once he reaches a certain other boss.

Wyverian feet don't look like that. Man is just wearing weird ass shoes.
Somehow this setup was better than the story of Monster Hunter World basegame.
Haha, need to catch up on the last couple vids
