I sit in my garden and just relax. This gives my apple trees all the "chill" hours they could ever hope to need. Relaxation really helps all our plants and trees.

2nd year here in San Marcos with my dwarf multi grafted tree. 5 varieties. Tree is going crazy this year with so many apples. 6 young grandkids and a pool. Can’t wait to see how great the crop is when they’re ready for eating! The kids are going to love it. Great info here. Thank you.

How do you guys grow honey crisp apples! I thought it was impossible to grow these apples in Southern California.

Do you think that granny Smith would make a good espalier tree? Does it need a polinator? I have a 3 yr old fuji that fruited this year, are they compatibles?

Luz Padilla You can successfully espalier any apple you like. Granny is self fruitful but cross pollination with the Fuji will give you much better crops on both.
