I wonder if we'll see 844 back on the rails again, 4014 is cool, but I wonder when we'll see the UP steam crew bring 844 out of the roundhouse, and onto the mainline again.
But I'm having a hard time believing that they had 4014 running on its own without a diesel behind it that's just way too hard to believe unless if those extra water tankers or whatever are power to would actually be pretty cool if that's the case for once we can see 4014 without a diesel behind it
@@carparkingmultiplayer1mobi675 I do like seeing a diesel behind the tender more than without having a diesel. I still find this cool seeing it without a diesel engine after the tenders. I think a diesel engine should be used to pull passenger trains for it to be easier and in this video, I know I saw some freight cars there but I do like it more seeing them without a diesel after the tenders. Also, I think these 2 yellow tender are called auxiliary water tenders.
@carparkingmultiplayer1mobi675 with full PTC she doesn't really need 4015 however I believe UP still wants to use it when she pulls the longer passenger trains to help with braking
Man was that a good day for me. That is the very day my channel started, and what a way how to start a channel other than with the best steamer ever. I saw it 3 different times including being on that bridge, at hermosa, and further down the line.
Great production, guys. God loves vintage locomotives. Look at that sky. Those steamers never show up during a rainstorm. And for someone smarter than me - did one of those people cars have its own generator? Seemed pretty loud to me and there was no modern diesel in-line to give power to the people.
I wish they would get their Fall tour published in full. Rochelle IL is the closest but requires getting near Chicago and I want no part of that hot mess. But will consider it if necessary

@@carparkingmultiplayer1mobi675 You can see some of the PTC equipment right after 4014 stopped. A crewman opens a hatch on the tender and you can see a computer display on the door.
We're all the railroad cops necessary? Jeez! What was the concern, someone might want to paint one of those pristine freight cars while they're stopped in the station? Meanwhile we can't get one agent to visit our yard at night while we are switching so the local thugs pretty much control our yard. Not us

Looks like I need to add a little extra detail to my Kato n scale Big Boy. That silver box on the tender which is the device that's allowing the 4014 to operate without the diesel helper. Looks like it would be simple part to scratch build.
Wow. What a beauty she is! So glad the UP Big Boy 4014 is up & running!
Very cool my great grandfather was a porter on Southern Pacific Railroad and seeing that makes me happy to see the preservation of steam locomotives
Wow! Excellent catching the UP4014, Big Boy, I like it, it's awesome, @Virtual Railfan, thank you very much and have a nice day.
Thank you for posting this steam locomotives are awesome!
The bells, the horn, absolutely gorgeous♥️
That steam train sound is music to the ears ❤
Nobody else has a voice like that--so beautiful!
Thx for the vid...❤ the most expensive support system for a steam whistle 😊
They are trying to get the steam engine in Tucson running again. The use air for the whistle right now.
Great video. Thank you for sharing.
A working museum piece without a pricetag. Hes a beautiful beast
Awesome video thank you virtual railfan for sharing much appreciated from all you do at virtual railfan keep up the awesome stuff thank you again!!
Amazing to see it run without any diesels and with some of the newest freight cars Union Pacific has
I'll never forget going up to see Big Boy in Ogden, Utah a few years ago--thrill and a half. It's so good to see 4014 again--thank you for sharing!!
Lucky You! It's on my Bucket List!
@@joepeach997 Go see it when you can--it is so worth it!
Hi Virtual Railfan & it's is Randy and i like yours video is Cool & Thanks Virtual Railfan Friends Randy & Super Cool Big Boys 4014
It’s great to see her running without the diesel escort. She is great shape for this year’s travels.
No need for the diesel anymore!
This Steam Locomotive real Glory and Greatness of the United States. Thank You very much for live stream and this video Thanks very much.
Thanks for the video VRF!
There's no graffiti on any of those cars! Super clean!
Incredible! My friend loves to chase steam engines in the Winter.
Thank you so much for this really great video replay of what we witnessed yesterday in Laramie!!!! Loved the music too.

This would be so cool to see live! I don’t think it’s coming to Florida, however
Wow that’s a cool train ever seen 👍👍👍
I can't wait to see the Big Boy in Illinois
those are some of the cleanest hopper cars i have ever seen :)
Cool and to think I have crawled all over that Beast when it was in Pomona ,Ca before being refurbished
Nice to see the big Alco running!🛤🚂
Where’s this freight going to also nice to see big boy doing what it was built for also I heard it might pull a long manifest in California soon
Where did you hear that?
Some comment on another 4014 related video
It so glad the Big Boy is back up and running again, such a beautiful locomotive. I noticed a different engineer driving though, must be a trainee.
I wonder if we'll see 844 back on the rails again, 4014 is cool, but I wonder when we'll see the UP steam crew bring 844 out of the roundhouse, and onto the mainline again.
You just can't beat steam locomotives. They are so individual in sight and sound
Awesome! I got to see it today and my Dad will be the conductor on it tomorrow!
Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 is awesome.
Big Boy never disappoints! Tho im Hoping when she comes through Texas later this year she will have more passenger cars.
Beautiful♥️
There is the Big Boy 4014! I am so happy that the Big Boy 4014 is running!
Now if we can just get 844 running again

I’m over here watching a Santa Fe video at home in 1995 of the year of the BN merger but Big boy is now running towards California!!
What video?
I was there. What a great experience. Ready to go back.
Gorgeous.
Full house to see the Big Boy... 😊

Really hope one day that awesome 4014 makes it to Cleveland Ohio!😎
Reminds me of an engine they built for Disney's Lone Ranger movie! 😍👍
Fantastic is the Big Boy 4014. Thanks to the UP, this great steam locomotive is back under steam.
❤❤❤❤❤❤ I saw it on August 29th 2021 on display in St. Louis & the 30th in Kirkwood I skipped school too see the beast
"THIS IS THE POLAR EXPRESS !!!!!!"
It looks really hot there but it's a lot fun watching the trains
have nice cool week everyone.🇺🇸🚂🎇🚃🚃🚃🚃🎆🇺🇸
Will see it in California on 7-11
👍
What city?
@@Acehitman369 Oroville. Roseville the next day 👍

Heavy metal
Impressive to say the lest.
Must be a real pain keeping ich off those pristine canvases.
Great job on getting this monster breathing on its own, ( no life support)aka a unit.
Beauty on wheels 😍😎
Is that the same one that will be in Utah later in the month.
Whats the time in camera at youtube?
This is the first time I've seen 4014 without a helper locomotive. Usually there's a up unit before the passenger cars
Just a question Will the big boy be going through Reno Nevada for this trip?
So the Big Boy has returned for this year, will it be same route as the one from 2021 or the route will be very different?
Different
And as always an pesky pole in the way 😁👍
Never fails, lol!
I hope the big boy comes to Florida so I can see him

I'm having a hard time believing that they had 4014 moving on its own without a diesel behind it am I the only one that has the same reaction on that
the diesel never supplied power. It was there for PTC. 4014 has PTC installed this Spring and passed testing. No more diesels.
