Water makeup path: 1. Out of the hydrant to the booster pump. 2. Booster pump to the tool car. 3. In the tool car the water is filtered, softened, filtered again, then chemicals are added. 4. Then the treated water is added to the water cars and tender.
Am I missing the BIG BOY logo on the front of the boiler? I plan on making it to Chi Town this September to check her out. Happy 4th to everyone and may God bless our country👍🏿
@@railgraphix Very understandable. I wonder if anybody can get a video where on the yellow yellow cars. There's a little site glass in the back. If I'm right, can one day record them feeling one of those cars all the way up with water?
What a beauty! I would expect to see it pulling an intermodal train, maybe a bulk, heavy or automotive train. It has the power to do it, we already saw the Challenger pulling an intermodal with power and even with the 844, why wouldn't this beauty do it?
NIce video - Thanks for the coverage! Strange consist - normally when she goes on tour it's the full 10+ passenger car consist - why are they short of passengers cars this time, and have loaded her up with Box cars and Grain cars?
@@IanRMcAllister they don’t always have the passenger cars. There’s been plenty of times the wasn’t passenger cars in the consist. They will be picking those up closer to the ticketed excursion.
Really enjoy your videos. If I may make a friendly suggestion, it would be to invest in a wind screen for your mic. Wyoming is wide open and windy as hell. It would enhance your production value so much if you could mitigate some of the wind noise.

Great video documenting the daily work required to maintain the beast!
Agree!
Thanks!
Can't wait for this beauty to come to Arkansas!

Very best maintenance/support video to date. Helps to show just what it takes to keep the beast operating properly. Thanks!
Thank you for sharing!
You’re welcome
Dear UP: Thamk you for saving this BIG BOY!!!
Great video! This is the first one I've seen showing how fuel oil and water gets loaded. Thanks!
Outstanding video!! Copious thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it
That was a super clean looking tanker truck, nice to know some people/companies care...
I only missed seeing this be a few days.😢 I went from Cody through Rawlins to Glenwood Springs Colorado on the 28th.
Great captures. You don't see this being done from beginning to end all too often.
The three dynamos: "La Tres Amigos" LOL. Hi Jenn...

There's still people with feminism 🙄
And it looks so.
Great and Including the engine4014❤🚂🚂
I wonder how many gallons of water they pumped into all three tenders.
About 36,000 gallons on that day.
Depends how much they used, and Ed has said in presentations how they have to keep it low for some bridges due to weight concerns.

@@railgraphix Tnank You - most appreciated!
As for the freight cars, they are there for braking. They can use the cars' breaks to slow the train and save wear and tear on 4014's brakes.
@@shimesu443 Thank You - yes, of course, forgotten that one!
Yo, quit calling 4014 a girl, he's a boy
at 9.32 is that a foldable lid of some type ??
Stack covers to hold in the heat.

will be sacramento this weekend
You ever notice that the 4014 always needs a diesel electric locomotive to do most of the work....
