Wonderful restoration and static display. For vintage sake the immediate crew could chuck the modern yellow vests and wear the coveralls and RR caps of the time.

Thanks for the view of Robert performing the boiler water sampling. He goes on all the trips, softening and chemically treating the makeup water, and advising Ed on boiler blowdown requirements.

QUESTION ? From a cold start how long does it take for the 4014 to be able to take off ?

I am proud to say I was there, at least in Ellis. He was already sitting idle when I arrived from Hays. I had heard that amazing whistle from my house about a mile away from the tracks (and even inside my house, it sounded like it was less than a half mile away!) So glad I decided to “chase” him! What a wonderful experience!!! Totally IN LOVE with that BIG BOY!!!!!🚂🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️

I never realized how quiet the big boy is

I thought your video was fine. Just was surprised that the CEO only rode a few feet backwards and forwards. I got to see the Big Boy in Rochelle last Sunday. AWESOME!. Who is Ed? He looks like one of the engineers I talked to in Rochelle. Does the same crew always operate this train?

Ya why freight cars only that much, I can see huge amount of freight cars taking too certain place and idk more fright get drop off or passenger cars but last tour they had had full of fright cars till they reach certain destination drop those fright cars off and then pulled passenger cars so far then back that same destination drop passenger cars off and repick up same freight cars took went back home doesn’t make since to me

Why is the Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 pulling freight cars ?
