This is the 2018 hardcover edition of the book that was first released in 2003. Alex Ross is often called the "Norman Rockwell" of comics and this wonderful collection by Chip Kidd includes all of his photorealistic work for DC Comics and also a bonus Superman Batman story just for this volume. Introduction by M Night Shyamalan.

I've owned this for several years. What I like most is seeing Ross's pencils and preliminary layouts. Regardless of what criticism he gets for photo-reference, he's an amazing draftsman and was the closest thing to seeing comics as movies on the page just prior to the era of CGI finally making that a viable reality.

Thanks for sharing! Never knew about this collection. Still admire the large Absolute volume of Absolute Justice I have. Was thinking of picking up the 20+ inch book of Marvels Monster-sized edition that's coming out in August.

Hey Take it easy man, I said the same thing about a year ago I think but I deleted the comment because he didn’t deserve it. Sometimes covers of certain characters can sometimes confuse someone with another character. I understand what you mean but that was no reason to call him an amateur just because of that.
