The app is very smooth for drawing and painting, my only issue is I wish you could tap on the screen with one finger to color pick like procreate. Using both hands to color pick for me feels odd/slows me down when doing it many times over and over within a painting session. But great video, thanks for sharing your experience with the app.
I'm really getting tired of everything needing a subscription. At least SOME of them have an option where you can make a one-time life subscription--for several hundred dollars, but still.
Hey thanks for this video.. I used your discount code to grab Astropad.. it is working .. wow using my iPad and Apple Pencil with Clip Studio on my Windows 10 Desktop.. we live in amazing times. Wacom should be scared about this innovation..
What screen resolution did you use to solve the problem you mentioned at 2:10? Also, I notice your photoshop tool bar icons on the left are much large than on my iPad Pro 12.9" (3rd Gen). Any tip?
nice!!! i was about to buy the wacom movink for 800$ but was like JUST KEEP RESEARCHING.. stoked to try out astropad with my m1 ipad air and my pc laptop with a 4060. LFG!!!
Lucas, i have a question, will the digital painting course you plan releasing on May 2022 be another mentorship? O will it be a set of videos we can purchase at any time?
thank you for the video! I've just tried it for the first time, but i noticed the cursor icons don't show up for me on screen when I switch to different tools. It really messes with my brain to not see anything, if I press z for the magnifying tool, or B for brush. I'm so used to the way things look on Wacom. at first glance I couldn't spot a settings option that would allow me to turn the cursor on. How did you get yours to show up?
Hi. I download Astropad buy I can’t find any way to’ set the resolution to’ wiev Windows in full screen could you explain what settimg you have set? You don’t show it in the video, thamks!
I know your question is from a year ago, but I think I know what stand he might be using. I believe it’s a stand that Huion sells for their tablets. My brother has one, and I borrow it from time to time with my iPad, and it works pretty good imo. Haha, hope that helps. ^^
Is there any way to customize the astropad shortcuts? I hope i can right click without having to bring my left hand all the way to the screen every time. For example if I could tap with 2 fingers for thz right click to show up it would be fantastic
Slow internet meaning the stream from pc goes over to astropad's servers and back? Or do you mean local wifi? cause my router is rated for up to gigabit over wifi 6 and gonna use ipad pro 2018. As i tried sidecar with an i5 intel macbook, and it just lagged way too much with more than 2 seconds of drawing.
Sound cool but, I check and they ask a rent for use the program. Unleast do you know a thing or two which mean you buy the product and you pay in once and thats all. Do you know how? I want to buy such thing for my ipad pro but I am not rich for pay everything I use for art.
Ah.. sorry Arnaud, I actually don't know. If they are asking for a subscription, then that is the option... But If I remember correctly it was affordable wasn't it ?
Thank you so much for doing this video. It has been very helpful to me. I would like to contact you directly as I constantly need drawings and characters and I'd like to know if you can do that.
I don't understand the people complaining about price. When you are a working artist or graphic designer with an iPad pro... This seems like a very good deal vs going out and buying another drawing tablet. To be able to use everything I already own together. Mac and Pc It's amazing to me.
I get that but renting an app sucks, even adobe apps… let’s say you have some important project and for some reason your subscription has an issue for worse case it’s out for a week… the app is fine but the service just has an issue… you can’t use it even though the app is fine itself, but because you don’t own it.
But 12$ a month/80$ a year is considered a far stretch for me tbh.. this is just a mirroring app, it isn’t a functioning app that has multiple options like sketchup or photoshop.. if i have 80$ that i could spare a year then why not save a little more and get a digital tablet that connects more smoothly and have more options and is more practical and i won’t have to pay anymore.. this app isn’t affordable at all and it should be a one-time payment tbh
I hear ya...Back then I had it and used it a lot and then decided to get a digital tablet...was a lot more money but I needed a bigger screen. Still the ipad pro screen colors are great and because I already spent so much on the ipad pro it was worth the $12 a month vs the fortune I had to spend on a Graphics tablet with a screen.
id buy an xppen 15 inch for $300 and forget about this. Too much input lag. in the video, your computer is very high end and i still notice stuttering occasionally. i use a mac and ipad with apple sidecar occasionally but even at that official level of integration, its nothing to rival an actual Drawing Tablet
This is what I'm considering too... $100 a year as opposed to paying $300 once for a seamless experience + potentially a larger screen too. I think I will be doing the same, just can't be bothered with the hassle of this software
Actually that is not exactly true. I tried astropad and it has excellent lag (it's small :) and really not noticeable) but same time yeah, subscription based is poopoo and not worth it for me
It's a No-go. I'm not subscribing..To a program you have to pay for. You should really mention that first before even starting... (meaning state it at the beginning of the video)
£10.99 PER MONTH!? Good god, no. That's Adobe pricing. I tried the 30 day free trial and it didn't work on my iPad. Absolutely useless.
then you my friend, never want to get photoshop
same , its useless and pricing is stupid.
Tbh just buy a drawing tablet 😂😂😂😂
@@dinhTony agree,
A subscription app? A stand-alone app should NEVER charge a subscription as though it was a service. Never. 0/10.
and it costs 99+ usd a year. no can do
they had an old version you could just buy outright and it was so cool
I'm so sick of products being subscription based

I’m agree with you man, it should be one time purchase

Lucas, i have a question, will the digital painting course you plan releasing on May 2022 be another mentorship? O will it be a set of videos we can purchase at any time?
how does all the other features of the pend works with this ? like tilt and rotation ?
uff not sure anymore - sorry. This is a pretty old video.
what screen resolution did you use? im having a really hard time trying to make the pc screen fit on my ipad
Would adjusting the aspect on your PC help with this?

Does photoshop magic wand and polygon selection works well ?
Sorry men, I don’t understand the question
This is subscription based... meh
What ipad stand are you using?
for another tablet
I will use it for study and make handwritten notes with it.
👍
I've tried apps like this for displays but this one looks really neat!
Someone knows if you can try it with phone? I don't have tablet
Yes! The problem is that needs money for use it. But you can use another with a homemade stylus
Thanks for the review!
My pleasure!
cant have a pressure on this somehow how do you got a pressure for your tablet?
you can check in the settings of the tablet 👍
Which app you'll use to do it between mac and ipad?
Thank you very much, It will help me alot for my beggininganimations

uff sorry - not sure. This is an old video, but maybe check with them directly... I am sure they will be able to give you a better answer
may I ask what you use to prop your ipad up? I dont see it in your links!
yes I use an iPad stand, but it is from another brand of tablets

I know the vid is old but what’s the stand you’re using here for your iPad?
it is a stand from another tablet
What resolution did you use?
300 dpi

I didn’t buy all of my iMac 🖥️ software for it just to sit there. I plan on buying it.

This is pretty neat!
Hmm is it for subscription?
If it’s free this is 9.5/10

@@LucasPeinador edited to clarify*
But apple does this NATIVELY. for FREE! lol
Just go to settings on your Mac and click sidecar/mirror screen to iPad. And BOOM no paid app necessary
yep
…too pricey
🙂
99 dollars a year? Yikes..
Haha yeah 😉
Procreate makes every other app obsolete.
haha 👍
драйвер по подписке? 10$? Они там в своем уме?
sorry, I don't understand
Just use side car.
Side car only works for Mac and Astropad allows for pc now. Which is a big deal for those of us who have ipads and pcs.
Instead of mirroring cam I use ipad as extended dispay ??
emm I think so 👍
hi Lucas,check your email,plz
