      Glad their helpful. These are actually probably the hardest to make because I need to already know the course and go there getting some footage. So very glad to know it helps!

      Now that I'm racing it a 3rd time - I'm curious in retrospect which year will be The Good, The Bad and The Ugly... 2022 was definitely "good" soooo curious what this year is...

      @@runningwithsimon Those drone shots were really neat! Makes me want to get a drone to follow me around while I trail run. haha!

    Where are the stream crossings on the course?
    Which aid station did you send extra pairs of shoes in a drop box?
    Can you share what you put in your drop bags in the various aid stations?

    • @runningwithsimon
      @runningwithsimon  6 месяцев назад +1

      1- The crossing is between Virgin BMX (1) and Guacamole (1), and on the way back from Guacamole (2nd time) towards Virgin BMX (2nd time). So about like mile 52 and 69.
      2- So the extra shoes were at Virgin BMX, and I took them on my second pass (mile ~70).
      3 - I mostly use Virgin BMX. On the first pass I'll take my night stuff (it's likely going to be night while on Guacamole loop unless you are VERY fast). So that would be an extra layer (puffy jacket) along with headlamp and spare battery. As mentioned above, I also put in there extra socks and shoe so I can change on the second time I'm there.
      Beyond that, it's more 'in case' stuff. Like another layer of clothing. Some nutrition. Some imodium. Some salt pills. Extra ight and extra batteries.

    At 1:19, whats the name of the small light that you mentioned?

    • @runningwithsimon
      @runningwithsimon  6 месяцев назад +2

      It's a fairly generic small del light. The exact one I have is this - amzn.to/49mXQRE
      which is also the least expansive I could find. It definitely won't last the full night, but for the morning is plenty, and is a good 'safety' system to reach next aid station. I got rid of the magnetic holder - makes it MUCH lighter. Also I keep it in my ziploc bag (along with toilet paper) just so it doesn't get wet. It's water resistant but don't want to risk it.

    Hi Simon! What is the light you mention? Del Light? I can't find it.

    • @runningwithsimon
      @runningwithsimon  7 месяцев назад +1

      It's something like this here - there's a bazillion cheap brands of the same model. I honestly can't remember which I bought - I'm guessing they are all cheaply built - but the purpose is really to have something that is very very light, and could last a couple of hours - just enough to reach next aid station. Also those models, the kind of magnetic case - I don't use it. I think it's dead weight - and the light inside is super light. Not sure it's super water proof so I keep them in a ziploc along with things like toilet paper. If you haven't seen it, I made a longer "gear" video which covers a lot of the same product I use (it was for leadville but there's a lot of overlap)
