I believe the retirement crisis will get even worse. Many struggle to save due to low wages, rising prices, and exorbitant rents. With homeownership becoming unattainable for middle-class Americans, they may not have a home to rely on for retirement either.

Is the approval process very cumbersome? Is the drawdown on past reserves needed because the government has lost money in its investment of current reserves?

If needed, the government could reduce additional GST credits given to those who are better off.

Is just focusing on a supply-side Budget wise? Looking at the growth forecasts, even after factoring the stimulus accorded by the Budget, the economic growth figures for 2009 are expected at around (-) 2-5 % GDP contraction (ST 24/1/09).

Any such cut will cost the government about $1.8b, within the government’s means. In any case, the revenue loss will probably be less if people start consuming more as expected.

Watch how the lady in pink speaks, she is obviously on the PAP side, I stop watching the interview after I saw that. At least try to make an effort be neutral. This interview is staged.
