My hope with the remaster is that they'll add a couple more skin tones and hair options in CAS. The skin tones in Kingdom are somehow even worse than in the original game 😭
They can’t do it but I’d love it if they added more lots 😭 I hated not being able to place everyone in the village
Im sorry to say but its not a remaster. Its just a port of the classic game, no added content or improvements.

Right?? Even in years where they didn’t give us an update or anything they still post about the anniversary of the game. It’s so weird to me and makes me a little bummed 😂

One thing that’s also really important to note it that with essences you don’t have to use them to paint, you can also place the essence themselves (like a whole green apple) on the object!
@@Celcey24 no because when I was little I didn’t know you could paint with essence so all my builds had the items stacked next to the build😭😭😭😭

YESSSSS!!! This game was my whole childhood. I must've had a thousand hours in My Sims Kingdom specifically on the Wii back in the day (the first one is also fun and so are the DS ports but My Sims Kingdom is an S-tier gaming experience)
Same!!!! When MySims Kingdom came out, I was just old enough to stay home alone while my dad and brother were out doing my brother’s sports every weekend, so I got A LOT of time alone with the Wii. Between all the times I’ve done it alone and then with my sister (I got her addicted to MySims, lol) I think I’ve played through the whole game at least 15 times.

A tip: You can be more creative when building furniture by adding additional pieces or other pieces than the suggested ones. As long as the "ghost" shape is covered you can add to it. Like for example, for the chair you can use a square flat piece instead of three pins as it "covers" the area. Just make sure you have enough for the essences :D I have many fond memories playing this.
i always used to try to do this but i got confused by the 3d-ness and would often place blocks floating by accident. i actually still do this on ts4, i often have floating clutter until i rotate the screen and realise
@@cryingwatercolours oh yes that happened to me too, especially since the camera was quite clumsy at times
actually, the only necessary parts you need to fill are the little white sparkles on the blueprint! so you don't actually even have to add the backing for the chair, for example. or make a shorter backing.
@@TheWayOfTheWott true! I just remembered this too. I think the limitations are in not placing anything where the object gets "used" primarly, so it doesn't clip.
This was a tactic to meet certain essence requirements for things you might need, iirc. This all makes me want to play again. XD
i own every mysims game on every platform .. i’ve been with this series since i was 6. i’m 22 now and it’s still my favourite series to exist. to those who are thinking of checking it out, PLEASE do. all of the sims are so diverse and the storylines are great and so is the dialogue. this PC version used to have an online mode where you could travel to each other’s towns (via the train station) but it shut down after a while, so i’m really hoping they bring this feature back. and mysims kingdom is the PEAK of mysims. i’ve played it so many times and i never get bored. even after you’ve “completed” the game, you can always go back and remodel houses, make more things for the townies, and build on your relationships with them. it’s honestly a series you can never get bored of.
@@reveude I still replay mysims, kingdom and agents every year 😂 they are just classics they never get boring! I actually love agents. I would love a sequel to that one.
If you double click while on the “essence” when painting it, you can change the color scheme or pattern it shows for that essence.
I had my sims agents for the Nintendo DS when I was younger and I loved that game. So happy they are bringing the games back.

Oh wow this is so nostalgic! I'd love a full playthrough of the re-release when it comes out Simsie! This is the only MySims game I'm familiar with, I never got the chance to play MySims Kingdom so I look forward to seeing that one, too.

@@mim2782 the pc and wii versions were always better in terms of graphics. save for skyheroes on DS which had these graphics too. everything else didn’t really seem “mysims” in a way, the sims looked very different
Probably because the ds wasn't as powerful as the wii and pc

That's awesome
Every essence has multiple options for what it paints, so if you don't like the red apple pattern for example you can just use the even red option from that essence.
Oh my gosh, when i was little i LOVED playing MySims Racing on my ds, it was one of my favorites

I played MySims on the DS when I was a kid. That game and Sim City DS were my first introduction to the sims universe.
I remember I used to wake up at 6:00 am everyday all summer long to play this game on my Wii, it was the first game I really fell in love playing. I can’t wait for it to come to the switch so I can replay it

I loved my sims so much growing up! It starts off super simple but you have to start getting creative later on. The further into the game you get the harder the tasks are because they’ll ask you to make something that has like 10 pieces to it but they want you to paint like using like 15 8-balls and 5 oranges or something. I learned to just turn the blueprint overlay off or free build by using different pieces than they suggested or adding extra features so I had enough items to paint.
It makes me happy to see you playing MySims. MySims was ~technically~ my first Sims game in that it was the first one I owned. One of my friends had Sims2 and when I went to her house, we would just make ourselves and our friends and boyfriends for all of us, but my parents wouldn't buy the game for me because it was rated T. So they bought me MySims instead. I get what you mean about all of the beeps making you happy because I feel the same way!
I was OBSESSEDD with my sims on the wii, I was SOOO psyched when they announced this !! I'm the opposite where I never played my sims kingdom but I'm so excited to give both of them a go!
For some context, I’ve played almost all the my sims games. This one specifically introduce new characters as you level up your town. The ones there already like poppy and buddy are the og’s that appear in most every game. There is even the collectibles in the sims 4 with poppy and buddy. My sims agents was so fun, highly recommend

I LOVE mysims and when I saw this in my recommended I clicked as fast as I could! One of my favorite games is MySims Agents and I’m so excited for MySims and MySims kingdom to go on switch
You can build the furniture with whatever pieces you want as long as you hit the key points
Also you can place down the little essence objects instead of painting and it also counts as adding essence!
Man, this takes me back! I spent a LOT of time waving my right arm around with the WiiMote with these! I actually beat My Sims Kingdom. I sold my original WII copies of My Sims and My Sims Kingdom at a garage sale a long time ago and still regret it. I mean, they were obviously to get younger kids into Sims games, in a way, but these came out when I was like 16 and I still enjoyed them ... I'm probably going to pick up the Switch remaster just because. It's funny how some sims from My Sims Kingdom, namely Travis, Liberty, and Summer were made in The Sims 4.

MySims Kingdom for the Wii was my first sims game too! I was about seven or eight years old, when i got it shortly after release and this was one of the games that made me fall in love with gaming. i‘m so excited to be able to play it again!
I played MySims for the first time when I was like 20 and I struggled so much I wrote every location of every single essence in a notebook. Maybe I'll get that notebook out when the Switch version comes out 😂
Oh my gosh!! I wasn't allowed to play the sims when i was younger cause it was a 12, so my mum got me MySims for the Wii, and i loved it! I also had it on the DS i believe, but it was quite different, and i couldn't really figure it out entirely, but i still enjoyed it. Very excited for the opportunity to play it again on the switch

Right I forgot this series you can use everyone's stuff any time. New arcade game or new trampolines, juggling apples or another activity they do - doesn't matter!

I'm actually so excited for this. I wanted to play MySims when I was a kid but I never got the chance to and I'm a full grown woman who's gonna buy it on my Switch because I can do that.
I would LOVE to see a little mini-series for both the games once they release - I know it's probably not as popular as your Sims 4 content, but I would love to see what you do in the games (even if it's cut-up version from the livestreams). ❤❤❤
Hey kayla! Im sure youve figured it out but you can click an essence on furniture multiple times to change the pattern of the essence for more design options:)

I grew up playing The Sims (the first one), and I've played Sims 4 as an adult, but I had never heard of My Sims. After watching this video, I'm excited to play it on the switch!

I LOVED this game. I got the DEMO CD-ROM from Tacobell (I miss fast-food places doing cool shit.) and then I played on the DS! (DS version is pretty different)
I remember getting a MySims CD in a taco bell meal in like 2008 or 2009 and playing it on my dad's old linovo laptop
I am SO excited for this! I play mainly on PC for the original MySims and will probably keep it that way (I tend to overdo it on the builds and need to mod for more space) but Kingdom is just as fun! Hopefully if this launch goes well we'll get a combo MySims Agents and Racing!

When they announced and I watch the trailer I was so excited I jumped up and down! I love mysim! So much when I was little, I was so sad when mine stopped working but I can’t wait to play it all over again!
I remember getting MySims Wii for rent from my local blockbuster and having sooo much fun.. hearing that metal detector sound unlocked a memory I had forgotten, lol. RIP my save file from that random rental game so long ago
What fun is that after you give them the required items you can always give them an item that you like a bit more but try to make it in tune with what they like interest-wise. Like a foodie likes any food after the inital items. It could be any food or even a plain nerve item with a small "hint" of essences they like. Plus they will give you more things as you create things that they like and you can change the outside or inside as you please.
Also you can change the day from day to night by sleeping in your own bed or are you sleeping on a bench outside. But I also love Buddy so I gave him a bed at the hotel too!
Last thing before I forget - the first two swatches of any essence are the colorful options. The last two are solid colors.

The best thing about mysims is that you can fill the blueprint in very creative ways. You dont have to use the blocks it says to use in the blueprint
