Super looking spot to spend the night Alyn 🤗 Mad to see all the layers that are required now with lowering temperatures…the warm nights have definitely left us. Not to worry 🤩
Miriam, it's a great wee spot. flat-ish, sheltered, great views, beside a river in a stunning area. Beautiful. Ben Crom is a fun mountain to walk but this wee spot just adds to how special it is. And man it is cold! Autumn is fully here. Did we even get a summer!? 😁
@@Korki12345 Totally agree. Such a great spot. The Mournes are a special place with so many wee hide away places to discover. Could do with more time to explore more.
Alyn, these much shorter evenings are certainly squeezing the after work window of light☀️ Ben Crom is a cracking mountain with views from the top that are unsurpassed in the Mournes. That is a great wee camp spot beside the river and (in my experience) a very quiet part of the Mournes, though not cool that others have left a trace. I have to say again that nothing beats time out wild camping, especially when on your own. Always good to explore new ground too👍 Sometimes those trips in the mist can have thier own magical quality.
Im so lucky to be so close to the mountains Gerry so it would be wrong to ignore the opportunity. Its such a great way to get some headspace, peace and quiet. Ben Crom holds mixed feelings for me. Freaked myself out a couple of years back (in my Ben Crom video) and its been a bit of a boggy man for me but I think I overcame it this time around. Lol. Great we spot to camp and definitely a hidden gem shame others found it and left their rubbish behind. And youre right about cloud walking- there's something special about the dampened sounds and the feeling of walking in the mist. So cool.
@@len73- thanks so much. It doesn't take long and I always carry a bag to take my rubbish home so its good to keep our mountains tidy and lift whatever is around too
What a beautiful little spot. It's a pity that there were a few bits left over from other people being there, but what a spot to spend the night. The caramel bar looked mighty 😁 it's definitely getting noticeably colder on each camp. Thanks a mill for taking us along 🙌🍀
@@RamblingOn It was a fabulous spot Jason. Highly recommend. The rock formations that framed the river was so beautiful and all hidden in that big bog between Bearagh and Ben Crom. Brilliant. It baffles me how people still leave rubbish. Its just pure laziness. It annoys me so much. The Caramel is now part of my essential kit alongside, my tent and waterproof coat!!!! Ha ha ha
@walkwatchers I've seen you with the caramel a good few times alright. Wait for Christmas when they bring out the slabs of it 😆 What annoys just as much is good people, like yourself having to tidy up after them when you should be out just enjoying your camp. It was a cracking spot, flatish is good enough 🙌🍀
@@RamblingOn I'm a fool for all that! As soon as they bring out the Christmas Caramel promotions and the Caramel mini eggs at Easter. Nightmare. The rubbish is so frustrating. Some of it is definitely accidental (stuff falls out of a pocket) but its the "camped overnight and dont want to put it in my pack" crowd that annoy me the most.
@@Hikingjoe383 Thanks so much. It was a great trip out. Its a beautiful spot and the views are spectacular. Pretty quiet out there too because you're cut off by that big bog in front of Ben Crom and Bearnagh. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the comment
Hi Alyn. Lovely looking spot to set up camp. Definitely time to be packing the thermals for bedtime. Pity about the lack of plunge pools 🥶😂. All the best

@@BestlifeWildCampingOutdoors Youre telling me! Its really gettin cold out there. Thermals at the ready. The bog over to Ben Crom is a challenge for sure. Its ok when its been dry but just mad when its been raining. Maybe I should do a series on where not to walk or camp in the Mournes . Ha ha ha
