Ghana deported Nigerians first before Nigeria returned the favour about 13 years later. But nonetheless, we are like siblings. We disagree and agree. God bless Nigeria, God bless Ghana.
The main reason why Nigerians were deported from Ghana was Economical Reasons. During the construction time after Ghana independence, there was well paying job across Ghana, thanks to well thinking, well planing and foresight of our first president Dr. Kwame Inkrumah, and due to our good education system Ghana has well trained and experienced workers in the country, the country never ever had lacked well trained workers in Ghana. Now why Nigerians were deported ?, they were mostly traders and laborers, Dr. Busia then in office did not manage the Ghanaian economy well and study found the government was loosing a lot of money in foreign exchange through foreigners in Ghana, not Nigerians alone, but because the Nigerians in Ghana was huge that what made the difference, and by month ending they all send their had earnings back to their countries without paying a KOBO in taxes in Ghana, so it was decided that foreigners without documentation should go back to their country, without subjecting Ghana government to buy back the cedis from foreign banks. It wasn't done because Ghana government hates Nigerians not at all. But for Ghana's survival economically, PERIOD.
Neither did Nigeria expel Ghanaians because of hatred, it was still because of economical issues. Just as it wasn’t only Nigerians that were targeted but Nigerians were badly affected because of the huge population of Nigerians in Ghana at the period same goes to the expulsion of Ghanaians in Nigeria, the law said all undocumented immigrants but Ghanaians were hit hard because of their enormous population in Nigeria at that time. So if Nigeria can let go of the past (1969) I wonder why Ghanaians keep on feeding their unborn generation with story of their expulsion from Nigeria .
Ghanaians also demolished nigeria embassy in Ghana 24th Jun 2020 after demolished 17th Aug 2020 Ghanaians government started locking 🔐 Nigerians shops in Ghana telling Nigerians to pay 1 millions dollars 💸 before having shops which Ghanaians have such money
There are laws governing the trade system in Ghana, so if you come to Ghana and decide not obey the laws you will not have it easy. Am sure if those Nigerians who shops were closed were doing the right thing their shops wouldn't be closed. It is easier for you to blame Ghana for enforcing their laws but if Ghana allows anybody that comes into the country to do what they want am not sure the country will save for other nationals to come and trade. Just obey the laws governing any country you relocate to and you will be fine.
@gistwithab1939 Because Ghana is only Ghanaians have laws and the laws work for only Nigerians in Ghana system, come to think of it how many Ghanaians have 1million to start business
@@Homeoftruthtv Because Nigerians do not enforce their laws in their country doesn't mean Ghanaians should not also enforce their laws. Nigerians should learn how to obey simple instructions you can't come to someone's country and be breaking their laws and expect them to keep quiet. We all can't want a peaceful country or continent with enforcing laws. The only thing that brings peace to a society is law. I agree, and the same happened to Ghanaians in Nigeria. The President of Nigeria asked them to get a permanent residency, some decided to get, and some willingly left. Some of them were my colleagues at work, for example, Oga Koffi 😃😃😃
To me Nigeria’s retaliation was not a symbol of good brotherhood. That period could have been seized by Nigeria to really prove that they were indeed the big brother to Ghana 🇬🇭 and the giants of the continent, as claimed by some Nigerians, by not taking that action to also expel Ghanaians from Nigeria during the oil boom, It was indeed a childish move from Nigeria 🇳🇬. This ugly history by both countries must not repeat itself. The youth of these two great nations have a duty to uphold the strong unity, and the bond of friendship for development. I look forward to see Ghana 🇬🇭 and Nigeria 🇳🇬 blend their colors into one flag. If you attack Nigeria, you attack Ghana 🇬🇭 and if you attack Ghana 🇬🇭 you attack Nigeria😀. What do you think, Utopian idea, or a possibility?
Rubbish. All the help we provided to south africa during apartheid, liberia, sierra Leone and Congo during their wars have only led to insults. And ghana is still doing the same thing with Nigerian music, movies and traders. The only thing people understand in africa is an eye for an eye.
Mr. Mensah, why do you Ghanaians hate Nigeria so much? Ghana deportation of Nigerians from its country started in the 1950s. It was not just once. Why do you Ghanaians always act irrationally and not think of the consequences of you actions? First of all, Nigeria doesn't "claim" to be the Giant of Africa. Nigeria is the Giant of Africa, and it is universally recognized as such. Secondly, there is nothing childish by Nigeria's retaliation. In fact, Nigeria should do more of it, whenever Ghana steps out of bounds. Ghana need to be taught a hard and irrevocable lesson, one that would haunt them forever. In 2020, Ghana bulldozed Nigeria Embassy. In 2020, Ghana shut down all the Nigeria stores, what if Nigeria had retaliated? This is the same Ghana that still owes Nigeria over $200 million dollars. This is the same Ghana that cannot survive on its own without Nigeria. When Nigeria shuts down its borders few years ago, you saw the chaotic effects it had Ghana and other West African countries, economy. Dear Mr. Mensah, Ghana is irrelevant to Nigeria. Nigeria do not need Ghana, but Ghana need Nigeria to survive as a country. You should know that by now.
Since 1969 when Ghana chased Nigerians out of Ghana ..Majority of Ghanaians have serious envy and hate. It's like witchcraft...Nigerians should stop feeding into Ghanaians energy and avoid them..We in Europe avoid Ghanaians to an extent. The envy turned them to snitches in work places etc..Be careful. Lool 😊... Ghana did it twice too
Same with Ghanaians in Nigeria
Because of sika aduro and orther things i can mention a lady told me
Please we did not deport Nigerians , it was a compliance order and it did not happened to only Nigerians it happened to every foreigner living in Ghana . It was an order you need to follow and stay or you leave thank you
I agree with you bro. That was the same with what Nigeria did. It was an order that affected all the west Africans living in Nigeria illegally. The good thing is that it's in the past now
I now know why Togolese don't also like Ghanaians😢
@@iwehclementine3772 are you from Togo?
Im Ghanaian, and i think our best allies should be Ivory coast.. We share the same character, humility ,understanding and mind set with them...
Wow. You have your reasons.
I don’t think Nigerians are worried about it. We really don’t care who you affiliate yourselves with. We are not bothered
Ivorians from Cote Divoire can't stand Ghanaians also because although they are from the same Akan group like Ghanaians they were expelled 800years ago after a tribal war.Go to Abidjan and ask an Ivorian the meaning of Ghanaian daughters of Tu tu during Rawlings time and killing of Ghanaians after the Kotoko match...Ghana dey play😢

The friendship is one sided though.

By then Accra is clean though we have Nigerians, but low crime, Togolese are in Ghana since the history of Ghana, also they mixed with the Ga. People and most of them married Ga S, than any tribe in Accra, because of similarities of history. Between themselves.
Who told you there were no crimes, Nigerians were all over in our villages stealing famers cocoa beans
After the deportation in 1969 what happened? Nigeria deported ghanaians twice, shagari and Buhari/Idiagbon where borders were closed so as for ghanaians to sell their belongings to feed.Ghanaians are civilized people and will not deport Nigerians again but make sure, the Nigeria ashawos and the robbers and kidnappers are rotting in jail.

Wow

Make sure ur mothers cleaning our toilets do not steal our money if not they will also rot in jail
It's was a war force Nigerians to move to Ghana, not like economy boom .

THE GHANA GOVERNMENT DID NOT EXPELLED ALL ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS IN GHANA IN THE YEAR 1969.MALI,UPPER VOLTA TOGO,AND BENIN😮😮😮
Ghana did not expel Nigerians, the government of Ghana asked all foreign immigrants to apply for permanent resident permits. Some applied and some decided to leave, in 1972 I was in high school and some of my schoolmates were Nigerians ( Seniors Oyewole, Yebesi and many more.)
Stop sweet talking the act of Ghanaian leaders. Nigeria did to you what y’all did to us too. Now we square
@@iyamugeorge5835 and it will continue
I agree, and the same happened to Ghanaians in Nigeria. The President of Nigeria asked them to get a permanent residency, some decided to get, and some willingly left.
Some of them were my colleagues at work, for example, Oga Koffi 😃😃😃

Ga, people’s are good , to allow everyone to enjoy in Accra, nowadays they are minorities, just because of hatred,
The Biafra war was ongoing at the time.
Yes
Hmmmmmmmm
I agree with you. History should not be allowed to repeat itself. I look forward to a better Nigeria-Ghana relationship
Rubbish. All the help we provided to south africa during apartheid, liberia, sierra Leone and Congo during their wars have only led to insults. And ghana is still doing the same thing with Nigerian music, movies and traders. The only thing people understand in africa is an eye for an eye.
Yet Ghanian will be crying and forming victim while they have done this twice and still doing it.
A Ghanian will destroy you or poison you if you ain't careful
