This, and adding from this boxes you can choose what type of dust you want and since accuracy gems are totally worth it you WANT to get the higher tier of this gem possible or 2 gems 8+. Investing on gems early on is the best choice since you gonna keep the gems FOR EVER (not like your armor or weapon that you gonna replace once the chaos raids come out), you only need to retreive the gem from the slot to your inventory and find another gear ( in this case legendary ) to put them on, its a little bit expensive but at this level 2 million mesos is nothing.
A note on 'wasting' runs on toughen up daylies, alot of the dungeon toughen ups are actually to kill the elite in the dungeon so you can exit before you complete it and waste a run or time if you've capped already
2 things to point out here: - The Chaos Raids have various armor pieces listed as potential drops. These include Head, Gloves, Feet, Chest, Pants and Weapon. There's nothing (at this time) to indicate that better earrings, rings and necklaces will drop from the raids. While there's a chance they'll drop, it's definitely ill advised to just assume so. - Stellar Glass trades are literally one of the most important things to do every week (not day). A really important distinction is that you can *choose* the gem dust you get. This means for 200,000 mesos, you can guarantee you will have the materials needed to upgrade your gemstones. Also, 200 dust a box this is by far the best source of dust. The alternative is literally praying to RNGesus to get 3-4 gems of the same color, or praying to RNGesus to get a bunch of correct colored dust. This may not seem important to you now as you haven't upgraded any gems, since it takes around 100 of the same colored dust to upgrade gems, dust runs out very quickly. This is far more of a limiting factor than the crystals, since those are basically just meso cost.
Also you can keep your gemstone even if you switch out your gear you just pay some Crystal frags also we are not getting legendary accessories yet so I would not worry about upgrading my gemstones not gonna regret it.
If your focus is gear score, gemstones won't help. They're a stat upgrade best saved for dealing with after sufficiently upgrading your weapon since effectiveness of bonus attack damage directly scales with the level of your weapon. So with a +10 weapon you'll get marginal damage increase, but with a +15 weapon get a fairly substantial increase in damage.

Gear score isn't your power level it's only just a ranking indicator for your weapons

Gear score should not be your primary concern once you reach 5000 or so, which is easily achievable by enhancing your weapon :)
