Been on a sit down for 5 years now, yet to try a stander but I’ve always wanted to get a little 36in stander to replace push mowing. I will say I love sitting on my ass and getting paid for it so I love my sit down 😂
Have lots of large properties and a bad back so I prefer my ferris with suspension, but I started with a stander and plan to add one back to the fleet for certain situations. Love your videos!
Hey Brian, I’m 14 and have a small lawn care “ business “, I’ve been watching you for over 2 years and you have inspired me so much so I just wanted to say thank you for that and I hope to have a business just like you some day. And congratulations on the baby, thanks Brian 👍🏽
On our trucks we put quick links through the loops for the trailer chains just to make it easier to clip the trailer break away and the safety chains to, our breakaway also has the big carabiner
Looking good guys, Keep it up. I would like to respectfully encourage Conner to always use safety glasses when mowing. I never thought they were necessary when on the mower, but once I had it pick up a rock in the grass, it shot out into the woods, bounced off a tree and slammed into the middle of my sunglasses. Thank goodness I had them on. It destroyed the glasses but saved my eye.
Oh yes, he did after we got those couple clips. I’m a nazi when it comes to safety protection, just ask anyone who’s worked for me for longer than 10 seconds
Just like every team someone joins- you’re only good as your weakest player. Having him learn the stand up only adds to his experience levels and makes him a valuable asset to the company. Alway good to see someone who’s ambitious and is willing to take chances while learning new equipment. Great video. Congrats on your addition to your family 🙌
I do all the trimming for my lawns most days and my guys do the mowing. Trimming frames the lawn and makes it crisp. I like both the stander and the sit downs for different situations.
I have to say man, you have a lot of patience and understanding in your voice and approach to things. You'd be a great boss to work for. I am in the works on starting my own lawncare company.. Legit lawncare, and I have learned a lot from you. I appreciate all of the videos and your wisdom. I have been doing seasonal lawncare and part-time outside of my full-time job for about 18 years now, and last year I decided to pick up about 12 properties. It was a struggle doing all of them and my full-time job, but I think I can transition to full-time lawncare and make it. Thanks for the videos!
Read you comment and I myself have been thinking to do this also. I’m a groundskeeper from 6-2pm and I think I have enough time to pick up a few properties a week
Sit down is my preferred and mowing. Fire helmets are made with the brim to the back to prevent ash, embers and hot water from getting between the jacket and the neck to limit burn injuries to the fire person.
Hey Brain. I'm 18 and I'm not making money and not really planning on getting a degree. I want to start a lawn mowing business but I don't know where to start and what the steps are to growing it. So far I have a really crappy 20-year-old or older lawn mower that turns off after mowing just my front and back lawn. I know the first step is to get a better lawnmower. After that, I was planning on creating some flyers or something with prices on them. I will go door to door selling my story and my services. I think having a good background early on is a great way to get customers (In the future if I have a really great business that story won't apply since I will have enough funds to do what I want anyway). My story is that I just graduated high school, I am trying to make some money to support myself and one day re-visit my family in Ireland and spend some more time with them before they pass away (They are dying off, sadly. One passed a week ago and I have not seen them since I was 10). It's a true story and I can try to make it less wordy but that's what I got. ANYWAYS. My plan is to buy a new mower, spread my business, get a friend or something to help if I have too many customers eventually, hire some more people on, buy more equipment, establish a company name, get a place to hold the company operations and store the equipment and expand from there. That is all I know. I don't know if this plan even makes sense or not. What can I do better?
I have never been on a stander but with all of the tree branches that I encounter I think that the sit down is the way to go. I wish I could find a sit down trimmer, lol.
I enjoy trimming alot, but I still have to mow. After all it just me. I enjoy it all. Most place I which I could use a riding mower! I use a push mower. I don't have those big super lots yet. 1 day I will!
Actually, I enjoy both trimming and mowing. I don't know why but trimming is so satisfying to me, allows you to get into those tight areas and borders where the mower will not reach. In the end, the two compliment each other. I'm with Connor, I don't run the Darwin's Grip on my trimmer because I don't bend my back when trimming, I've never had an issue with my back hurting because of it, but I can see how it benefits taller guys like Rob. Nonetheless, it's an ingenious accessory that makes life more comfortable for the taller dudes. And I'm looking forward to GIE this year!
The good thing about the stand-on mowers as you can operate them with one hand and grab the branch and move it out of your way. I prefer stand ons because every time you have to get off the mower to grab a trash sticks or anything else is a major project if you're on a sit-down
Great video Brian, at least you have a certified firefighter on your crew just in case something goes wrong! I like standers, better visibility, they are safer, more compact. But when we mowing acreage I go sit down!
I actually prefer small sit downs because I can tow a wagon with leaf blower and trimmer rack on the side of it and drive that to my destinations because I can’t drive
35 years old been doing this for 20 years now....commercial cuts like apartment and all day cuts I choose the rider...houses I'll edge whip blow all day just to make sure it looks good
Couple other things I ran scag for 10 years and greased and greased....now I run exmark and have to grease nothing just sharpin...never replaced a scag spindle waiting for a exmark spindle to go out been running it for years now no problems scag cuts pretty to much maintenance tho but exmark is start cut finish and go
Been mowing at some capacity for 12+ years and up until this season I’d have said I’d much rather be sitting on the mower. My thought has changed on that. More of an art to trimming and surprisingly doesn’t beat me up as much as riding on the mower on large rough properties.
Hey Brian, Great video as always, Hey been a while since i seen one of the Video's Congrats on the New Baby . Hope all is well and the season was Great. Had a Good season myself here Downriver .
Have only been on one stander and it was trash, an older Pro-Stance. Would like to get on a newer, nicer model. Considering going to a 52 stander from my pro turn 460.
Ok, so I'm old... I can never find the "links down below" when watching the videos lol. Where do they hide?? That DeWalt looking pretty good for price point.
when you scroll down just before the comments there should be a thing that says SHOW MORE right above Brians merch click it and there should be all the links
Literally makes no sense to prefer a stander on property that is big and flat. I only use my stand on mower for small pieces of land and maybe mulch some leaves up in a situational moment
Stand up or sit down more a question of right tools for right job do you guys swap jobs throughout the day let's face it everyone s happy to sit on the mower all day but not so keen on strimming all day
Let's settle the debate: do you guys prefer standers or sit downs?! We have a 1 to 1 tie here between Conor and Rob!
Rob looks cramped to the z he would be better off standing

Stand all day can hit steep ditches way better
I use a sit on for my town mowing(side of roads, over grown fields) but when i go with the lawn crew we run standers

Hey buddy that’s sweet! Wish you all the best!
same
Thanks Brian
I'm 13 and kinda I'm the same boat
Man! It is so nice to see a young kid like Connor have so much hustle in him!
It's hysterical to see Rob on the zero turn every time!! Looks like he's in a recliner just chill'n LOL.
I thought the same thing 🤣🤣
Darwin is a back saver. Welcome to south Georgia weather hot and rainy all the time.
On our trucks we put quick links through the loops for the trailer chains just to make it easier to clip the trailer break away and the safety chains to, our breakaway also has the big carabiner
That kid got in the truck and said I even have my shirt 🤣🤣. Forgets everything else but has his shirt

I actually prefer small sit downs because I can tow a wagon with leaf blower and trimmer rack on the side of it and drive that to my destinations because I can’t drive
Noticed when he is driving he watches his line edge …. I find if you pick a spot in front at the destination and drive for it your lines are perfect
Awesome to see all the learning going on!
Congrats on the baby 👶 me and my wife listened to the podcast 😎
Thanks brother!!
That storm took out so much power. The storms been out of control this yr!
Great video. Awesome to see other come together and crush it!

Love the videos! That dewalt is a stripe master! It's seems to be pretty good for the price! Keep up the great work!
bro your my go to lawn care youtube ch I'm in monroe right down the way from u. keep these great videos coming 👏 👍
Nice!
I also don't mind trimming. But I'm solo. Haha. Nothing is worse the the blower on a windy day
Stander, hands down. They are so much more versatile.

Definitely a sit down mower, more comfortable for me anyways.
I prefer mowing but I love to hop on the trimmaa 🤟🏾
I hope ALL your viewers are buying their TICKETS to Your Seminar in November. I want to see all my brothers and sister in the lawn care community.

Hip throttle don’t have to worry about that switch
Looks great , good job 👍👍
I'm scared to take on high-end homes bc my lines aren't on point but if you guys can do it damn I may change my mind for year 2.
I got that hitch to love it
Oh congratulation on baby,
Hey Brian. You should give the guys a GoPro and let them record them working
Great idea
If I had somebody mowing while I trim I wouldn’t mind trimming. But since we have a bigger property now it sucks to do both by myself 😂
Mowing all day
I ride solo so i do mow trim and blow. That being said, i think i prefer mowing
Awesome video bro 👍
I ordered the same cables off Amazon. So nice they're not too long and dangling too low
I'd definitely rather mow. It keeps a little breeze on you during the hot days vs walking around with a whipper.
TJS LAWN CARE Will be at GIE-EXPO this year! Can't wait to meet you bro!
Trimmer for sure!! Just because I’m faster then anyone on the crew! Lol
where did the stihl trimmer go from the start? He was getting it ready and then it just wasnt there
He used it the rest of the day, he likes that model a lot

Is this the kid that was in that interview like 2 years ago? He’s grown up a lot.
Yup! Yeah he sure has!
Love to mow, but trimming is easily the most important thing we do on mow properties, way more likely to lose customers with bad trimming!
Wait you had a baby lol have not been on in forever lol congrats
😂😂😂 85 degrees it’s nice weather here in Sacramento valley, 110 degrees mowing lawn’s is not fun 😫
