- I drove by this place many times and noticed that the grass wasn't being mowed down. So I spoke with one of the elderly tenants and she said that the guy next to her tried to push mow this jungle and his push mower broke. So I went ahead and helped them cut it down. She was surprised as to why I even wanted to do that. I hope you enjoy!

I've done the same thing for a few older folks next to me who can't afford a lawn service anymore - nothing like what you had to do though. Although I do weedwhack, cut , edge, and roundup the weeds at the curb base! Cutting in those sidewalk edge lines sure takes some work though especially when they've never been hogged out of soil to get that deep edge - and that with my old Craftsman edger no less! Nothing makes a property and a neighborhood look taken care of than a cut and edged lawn. Thanks for caring enough to go the extra mile for others!

I've done free lawn cleanups as well and the people are always so nice. I don't expect anything in return but I gladly take fresh cookies or food 🙂 some of the best food I've had was from people I've helped by cutting the grass or clearing snow from the driveway.

Perhaps you could look to adding a camelback water pouch to keep you hydrated on the job site. I have discovered it’s almost impossible to drink, wave or sneeze while using a zero turn mower without stopping or spinning in a circle. @@fillslawncare the military issued water packs were covered in a canvas like cloth that was soaked with water after filling. As the water evaporates from the outer layers, the contents are cooled. Best place to store water is in your body.

Thank you for fixing that. The longer the neglect went on and the grass grew taller, the more dismay would set in. Nice the neighbor had tried to help. A thank you as well to the people who sent you the chute guard. That growth was really thick, with going back and forth, it was taking 4-6 cuts to make it pretty normal. Appreciate your noting that you had to change the trimmer head, the frequency of breakage, repairs and parts needed are something to be aware of. Glad you found your GoPro some shade at the last. What was nice, is while you were working to mulch the lawn clippings, it was also becoming striped and so it went from overgrown to reaching classy by the end. The street strip look good after your edging. Have been watching for a while.

Nice job. The obvious thing about the chute blockers is that you don't need them, just ride the opposite direction and face the chute away from the street and gardens. At first i thought it was cool, but that was because at first i thought you could mulch with the chute closed, and then if you do a overgrown lawn that can't be mulched, you open the chute.
