Was at this race.................the best field of super late models drivers I ever saw start in a single event talent wise from across the US since the first All American 400 event at Nashville back in the 80s. They put on a hell of show..
I remember an old dilapidated track somewhere in the deep south they reopened despite the fact it was in BAD shape! The fans showed up and so did the racers!
if NASCAR did come back here it would SELL-OUT!!! Hey Brian France come here we need more short tracks on the schedule. Get rid of Auto Club completely!!! Add lights and it will be bigger than Bristol!!

Why don't they race a weekly Saturday night program here. Is there another short track in the vicinity? It would seem like it would be an exciting track if they put up some lights. A race track is a lot like an old house. If nobody lives in it it will just fall apart.

HaloKing8448 At least the K&N and truck races for sure. Only issue is drawing crowds. Very far away from any major cities.
Chevyblock 550 it is not very far away from major cities, it is 45 minutes away from Charlotte...... thing is there is not much room for parking/camping on the property

i say we put this race back on the cup circuit.
Even a dozen north guys made the trip for this race and they all said the had a blast.
Glad to see the tracks up and running again. Now if someone could buy this track from Bruton Smith we could really see the track fixed up and modernized to todays standards. I doubt Bruton would ever let that happen though...

@NrdsWthGns It was always a sell out crowd when nascar went there, to speedway was shut down because the 2 owners of the track wouldnt come to an agreement for refused to part or share out the track so they took the race off the nascar schedule and shut it down and replaced North Wilkesboro races with Burtons texas motor speedway and New Hampshire. It was simply closed down just because the owners of the track didnt get alone nor would agree on anything, so they left the track on the back burner
@91TransAmKid yeah but judging from the last cup race in 96 it looked like a sellout crowd. i dont get it XP
@91TransAmKid I say NASCAR needs to replace NH with NW..new hampshire is some of the sorriest racing of the year..NASCAR should atleast split NH 2 dates between the 2 tracks.
Such a tragedy to see what Nascar has became. This track was awesome and a sad sad sight to see now. Nascar should be ashamed. I always read people writting that this place wouldn't draw a crowd? Correct me if I'm wrong, but none of the tracks are doing much anymore. I have to agree with anyone who says this place should be fixed and put back on the schedule, once if not twice a year.

@NrdsWthGns Nascar wont make the money they want, its about money and fans they want, not history unfortunately.
@MartyLovesSamantha doesnt matter to them, nascar has moved past this speedway. Nascar has changed so much since 96. Its all about corporations, money, (GREED) celebrities. Its why the cars look ugly as hell today, why nascar is moving on to (FUEL INJECTION) next year. If i was running nascar, i wouldnt be near what it looks like today. I knew brian france jr was a mistake lol.I would bring back the old points system for the championship. Whoever came up with the THE CHASE was smoking crack.
